Yeah, this is not really MMA, although similar it's vale-tudo. MMA has a lot more rules, and is just a different sport for many reasons. This was before MMA, and most fighters never trained on the feet. The Gracies never even thought they needed it, since they thought they could beat strikers with just their style, and in most cases they were right. Even Royce had no problem beating strikers, but the strikers were of low level back then. You would need Rickson to beat top level strikers.
@@billj4525the strikers who fought weren't necessarily low level, they good at what they did. But they had zero grappling knowledge which is what always won in the early mixed rules days.

Gracie Family doesn't allow Zulu punch with closed Fists in this fight they nerf Zulu and ban all the punchs of the fight I'm sure Zulu would have KO Rickson if they don't do this.
