People don’t realize that Mac was 18 when this and Blue Slide Park came out. The dude was always light years ahead of everyone else and released 22 projects in total which is why he will forever IMO be the GOAT. Thank you for recognizing greatness Jon and for mentioning that modern hip hop severely lacks this same aura and vibe. I refused to listen to hip hop before discovering Mac, he truly changed the game and paved the way for an infinite number of artists. Most dope forever

Just as a little something to say about this project, within his discography: This was the last project Mac released that really showed off what I call "Happy Mac". KIDS, Best Day Ever, Blue Slide Park, and this are all young happy Mac just exploding onto the scene, but once you hear Macadelic you'll be able to notice the switch where drugs became a real issue and Mac knew it. From there through to GOOD AM Mac is definitely in a sunken place with drugs. So I am as always excited to see you discover more Happy Mac, but just know that Macadelic is the pre-curser to his two darkest projects in Watching Movies with The Sound Off and Faces.
