    I just bought one! 35000 original km. Got it from original owner. I remember when he bought it new. Car is immaculate showroom condition inside, outside underneath. Kept in heated garage its whole life.
    Red 2002 Z28 6 speed. Procharger, Borla exhaust with longtubes, Hotchkis suspension. 600hp. It's insane and the ultimate sleeper. Looks completely stock. Took it on 2600km road trip, didn't miss a beat. I'll mainly use it for the odd long distance highway trip. (BTW the hwy fuel mileage with that super tall 6th gear is awesome). I have a 91' 1LE I use on the track that I got back in 93'.

    • @badmaro304
      @badmaro304  17 дней назад

      There’s a lot of options you can swap the car to for a relatively easy swap. Even if you swapped that car to the LT1 V8 that came as the factory option it wouldn’t be too terrible, but don’t spend the same money to swap it as if you could just buy one. Maybe saving for a V8 model would be easier, and then you have a better base to start with. You can still build the V6 cars too

    00 Catfish myself, another couple of points, most aerodynamic Camaro ever, also with Camaros on the discontinue list again values are going to soar! There are a few negs the biggest of them being the dash plastic deterioration and the 98 and up bubbling sail panels! Also the pain of changing fuel pumps w/o cutting. The positives to me though far out way the negatives.

      I replaced the dash panel on my '95 and it looks stock. Wasn't that bad. The tricky part is getting the color right. My interior is Charcoal. Maybe I am just good with a rattle can or just patient cause no one ever looks at it and thinks it's been replaced.

      Then get a compression test, don't want to waste money modding if it ain't healthy.
      Suspension (shocks, springs, lca's, phb, tq arm) try to get them adjustable if lowering.
      If it is auto: Stall 3200-4000, aux transmission cooler.
      Other than that "bolt ons" intake manifold, long tubes, dual exhaust then tune.
      Right after you complete all that, good chance the 10 bolt will say bye bye so get an strange S60 rear end with 3:73s, and driveshaft
      after that, who knows. Most people do heads, cam, fuel pump and injectors. OR swap to a new built or crate engine.

    I've had a '96 LT1 Z28 for 6 - 7 years now. Not a 30 ani VIN but has 30th embossed leather seats. She has 57k on the clock from new. Pretty much stock as built. Plastics a bit rubbish? Oh yeah, "yank tank", that's an "in" UK joke I hear a lot. But she weighs less than a European cheap family hatchback?... pigs to work on if your hands are more than 1/2 inch thick ha ha but we do it anyway. She's happy pottering around English villages on a sunny Sunday but ... can turn really very angry if you ask nicely, really very quick for 26 years old, factory LSD. Yeah, I'm in the UK and the parts are still cheap! I have a twin CME and she sounds lovely. What a machine! Thanks USA! Here she is, 4 years ago
    ruclips.net/video/KfBQyM30UEo/видео.html
    You would have to spend a large of money to come anywhere near one of these. You look after her? When you're 60 you will look back and wish you did. Get her set up right, camber, cantor and track, shocks are all adjustable.
    I have recently had to have the engine out because of a miss. So lack of use is abuse because of the extremely low mileage ... the head gaskets were rotted and deformed. I had already done all the front seals but had the opportunity to do all the rear nasty to get out ones as well. Had it skimmed at the same time. Idle now like a sewing machine. Just not any 4th gen Camaro or firebird pre 99. Yes the ls1 is in the 1998 but is not quite as good as the later ones. 93-97 lt1 cars stay away from. Better off getting a third gen if you want to go that old.

      @badmaro304  Год назад

      I like both the 93-97 and 98-02, I think both can be made into decent cars and a gen 2 Lt1 did break the stick shift world record at one point so can’t really say they’re not capable. The ignition was the only flaw.

      @@badmaro304 ignition was a flaw but not the worst. The cooling system was the worst with that reverse flow BS and the fact that when the water pump Fails it kills the distributor. Fun times, just stay away or buy a blown up car and stick an LS in there, problem is that it can’t pass emissions that way since you need to keep a stock computer. That is the reason to skip those and to just get a third gen and put an LS in there.
      I’ve had many firebirds and have owned a 2002 since I bought it brand new when I was 19. I’ve been around the block and love the cars

      Yeah I know all about the lt1. Then putting the distributor behind the water pump was stupid, that’s what took out my first opti, I ended up changing to an electric water pump and have had better luck. But honestly the lt1 has done decent for me besides that and if you take care of it it’ll take care of you.

      And I actually do want to get a 3rd gen at some point and throw a 6.0 in it from a truck I have, I feel like that would be a lot of fun.
