I have a big dog that lives 2 doors down..His family love him very much, but both boys went off to University, Dad works away so home every two weeks. Left with just mum she works..I have 3 dogs and when I am home he comes over and stays all day!! When Mum comes home he goes gets his dinner and then comes back.!! I believe he just loves the company of my dogs and that someone is home. I send him home at night, text his mum to say he is on the way!!

My sister had an uncle Stan named Cody. Cody was my niece’s dog. My parents moved into the in-law apartment in my sister’s house. Every morning when my sister went to work and my niece went to school, Cody went over and stayed the day with my parents. They all adored Cody. When Cody was 11yrs old he needed a lifesaving surgery that cost $3,000. My parents couldn’t imagine a life without out him and paid for the surgery. He lasted another 4 yrs. He’s in heaven with both of my parents, joyfully running and playing with them.

schnauzer are such a slept on breed. They are super intelligent and loyal. People struggle with them cause they are high energy and determined but raised well they are in my opinion one of the best breeds. I've had two.

Yep. I’ve got a mini Schnauzer girl. She is almost two years old, and the best companion I could’ve ever asked for.
Is she stubborn and naughty sometimes? lol YES. But in my opinion, that makes her all the more adorable. She is a great little dog, super sweet, super smart, and she is laying on me as I type this😆 I literally cannot go anywhere without her, and that’s just fine by me. I love her with all my heart and cannot imagine my life before her. I was missing out.
My neighborhood has an Uncle Stan. He makes the rounds to greet everyone on the block. We all have a treat ready for him, and he appreciates the attention. We all say that he’s our collective dog. He’s brought the neighborhood together!

Uncle Stan both gets his best life, with play dates with the new generation and their mom, Lexi, followed by going home with his mom, and has also brought everyone even closer and given them so much joy. And he's small and active, so he should be able to do so for a while.

Uncle Stan is adorable. I’m sure he knows that he’s cute too. He is getting along in years now. Enjoy him as much as you can now and warn the kids that we all get old one day and go to heaven eventually. You’ll all miss him when he’s gone. It will be a good thing to keep his memory alive by talking to the kids each day about the fun times you all had together. They will remember him even when they’re grown to be adults. Now that’s GOOD memories, in more ways than one. You’re very lucky that he shares himself around too.

Uncle Stand is a perfect little boy.
We had an 18 years old Bichon Frese. Baby Pierre, our Bichon, was active. With age, he slowed down. We gave him Movo Flex, Half of a chew per day. His weighted about 17 pounds and was a big dog for his breed. He was not overweight, just a big boy.
Once he got those chews......... He became a puppy again!!!!

I’m a 59WM, the youngest of 6 kids. We grew up in the suburbs outside DC in the 70’s, playing kick the can, flashlight tag, sleepouts in tents, etc.
When my parents retired, they bought a small farm in Gettysburg. We all had kids by then, and we ended up being able to instill in the next generation those memories, as in certain long holiday weekends, we’d all gather there, and my brother and I taught them how to make and shoot potato guns and model rockets. We all would also play flashlight tag at night, roast marshmallows out back, etc.
All the nephews and nieces are having their kids now. But every time we all gather, they will bring up those memories as some of their favorites. ❤

I wish we had a little farm compound like yours- how lucky you are. It’s true about that little 5 min thing a day that Stan does- sometimes it’s hard to do that even when you live close to someone- sometime BECAUSE you close but it’s so important to make that effort- loved ones aren’t around forever.
