This reminds me when I fostered a pit mix and he mauled everyone he met with love and affection. He was so gregarious and happy all the time, he was adopted really quick.

We have a pit bull. She is about as dangerous as a newborn bunny rabbit. I wish the breed didn’t have such a bad reputation. I’m glad Sophie and Ellie have such an awesome grandma
This is a very common story. People who were never exposed to dogs are scared. Once they realize that dogs are better than people, they love them as much as a life-time dog person
Fear isn’t necessarily due to not being exposed to dogs, sometimes it’s the opposite. There are many places where dogs are used for security and protection - they’re not actually pets. Those dogs are encouraged to be aggressive or at least to act and appear aggressive in order to scare off strangers. If Grandma grew up seeing dogs used for that purpose her fear is understandable.
That caught me off guard. I am glad grandma was able to work through her fear. It's super awesome to see how goofy she gets with the dogs now. She is probably very grateful she was able to work through it as well.
It also made me miss my dog I recently had to say goodbye to. The last thing I told her was to go get a treat from grandpa (by far her favorite) who was waiting for her over the Rainbow Bridge.
I love how Gramma was able to come around loving Ellie and Sophie!!! It takes strength to actually overcome those type of fears, and you can see the dogs have no problem giving her some love💞which makes it easier for Gramma to fall in love with them😁😁💖💖

I'm so grateful that you and your boyfriend rescued Ellie and then Sophie and gave these precious babies the loving home and family they deserve including the sweetest grandma who adores them and overcame her fear of dogs. Pitties are such big love bugs, smart and goofy that if they're given half a chance by people they'd fall in love with them every time. They're kind of magical ❤❤❤❤❤
Ellie and Sophie are so sweet and adorable and bless you and your husband for adopting them 🐶😻❤️❤️! Even though Nancy clearly loves them dearly, please just make sure that they don't eat the wrong things or have too much human food.

I've fostered almost 100 shelter pitties. Big. Smooshy. Velvet. Hippos. And yet they make up 90% of all shelters. It's amazing what breed/ race stereotyping can do to otherwise 'smart' people. These dogs deserve the world. Not to be taken out of it.

Typical. My parents have their favorite too. I won't lie. There's been times that it was a toss up between the human grandkid and 1 specific rescue dog we have, Crash. The other 2 dogs are great, but Crash is their special Bubba. "Idk what to tell you" no shame 😂

Please get some stable area rugs for your dogs! Slipping and sliding on bare wood floors is so bad for their joints and they will have trouble later on.
There is NO dog in the world that scare me, BUT ! there are million upon millions of people that scare me.
I am a little scared of horses, BUT ! i am working on becoming very good friends with 3 of them none the less and 2 of then are full grown, something i would never be able to do with humans CUZ my very basic rules dont seem to apply to other humans.
