- This Mustang was owned by my father in-law. He purchased it over 40 years ago. My sister in-law drove it for awhile, and then it was parked inside the barn. My brother and Sister in-law decided it was time to get this Mustang back on the road. #Mustang #1965Mustang #Mustangs #convertible
Welcome to the Ford family. Excited to see this old pony brought back. They are well worth it.
Now you got class in your garage
My first car was a 1965 Mustang Convertible. Those inner rockers and the torque boxes, are what hold the car together. Without a hardtop, the car will collapse in the middle. Usually one will first notice the doors don't fit at the jambs. New inner rockers and torque boxes, and I would even add tie-ins to connect the front and rear sub-frames. Especially if you are going to add horsepower. (That car is really not bad. They can be much more rotted. Well worth it as a project.)
Hopefully they won't be too much a pain to replace. It appears we will need full quarters as well. They overlapped the old quarters and brazed them on.
No Mice were harmed in the making of this video
I appreciate your motivation and drive on a project like this.
Given your success in the past I am sure this one will turn out just as well as the others!
I’m so excited for this!!!
That Mustang is actually Not that bad. Its in fairly Good shape. U could do some patch work on most of those areas, unless your father in law? wanted the entire pieces replaced?
I did some patchwork, but several pieces had to be replaced.
Northern cars. Ick.
A damp old barn didn't help it either!
