- Hey Queens,
Today I am taking you with me to get my first retwist on my finger coil starter locs. In this video, you will see how much my hair has grown in just 4 weeks. I couldn't believe my hair grew over 2 inches long in just 4 weeks..
My hair started to bud (is budding) and locking quickly! I couldn't wait to get my 1st retwist because I was looking so rough!
I also tried a new style until my next appt.
Later in the video, I show you all my hair on week 6 and week 7 after a good sweat in the gym You can see the budding (locking) of my hair and I was pressed!! I think working out, leaving it alone and oiling your roots are the key to fast hair growth for your locs.

I feel like this is where I messed up. I’m a month and a half into the loc journey and I feel like my first retwist did me so dirty… 3 or 4 of them came down😭 I think next time I will definitely be getting it styled as well so it can stay together

Lol started my loc journey Sept of this year I remember I could not WAIT to get my first retwist I was looking and feeling so rough 😅 I went 7 weeks then now I go ever 4 to 6 weeks

Hi how are you I have a question um.....so when I get my hair retwist the person that is doing it she takes my hair and twist them all the way up to the point where it looks like snails on my head is that a good thing or bad thing or is it just going to be lock up like normal

It definitely depends on your hair texture and length. Mine is 4C and medium length. I think mine looks like snails with this comb coil method lol
Once your hair starts budding (locking) it’ll form naturally and she should only be retwisting your roots and palming the remaining hair that’s already locked …atleast that’s what my loctician does. I’ll actually record her doing it on my next retwist!
This is sometimes too tight so pay attention to your scalp. Too much tension gives way to tension bumps and potential hair loss so be careful.
