Come with me to start my loc journey. I have 4c medium length hair and the shrinkage is REAL! I ended this video with a chit chat + 1 and 2 week update on the status of my hair. I spoke about why I started this journey and provided a bit of advice for those who are doing their research.

You’re going to love this journey🥹 It brings out a new type of self-confidence. I’m 6 months in and I wish I did it sooner. And you’ll start loving the messy look once your hair actually starts loc’ing lol. I love it to where I pushed back my retwist to 6 weeks instead of 4😅. Excited for you though💜

Ik this is 4months ago but I am really debating on whether I should get locs or not. I do love how you can style the locs but I do love having an afro. I am scared that I wont be able to take care of my locs and oil it regularly. Like do I oil it every week or so?😭

@@ionic_rezz7789I’m late but, for others: Talk to your loctician/licensed cosmetologist FIRST. I lightly oil my scalp 1-2 times per week with Mielle Rosemary Mint Oil (it works EXCEPTIONALLY WELL so y’all gotta miss me with the controversy). I lightly oil my hair 2-3 times per week following misting with my Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I mist multiple times daily. I massage daily. Water helps it loc faster. It makes it frizzy but, I love my frizzies.
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO. I am scared of looking like a little boy bc my natural hair is pretty thick and long and I’ve never had short hair before.. but with the style it looked so good. Thanks for sharing!

I started my loc journey 2-11-23 and after one week I already seen growth and I actually got more compliments than my natural loose hair. I love your style and lipstick and music choice ( I hear teedra Moses in the background) ❤

Looking GORGEOUS! I just started my journey! I want to tell you to try a water mixture with boiled clove water, olive oil and a dash of turmeric in a spray bottle! Works wonders on growing the hair and softening! My loctitian was so surprised at my new growth at my next retwist appointment! I cut my hair a few years back and was having trouble growing it back due to me not taking care of it properly and just throwing wigs on top of them. With my locs I care for my hair more and its loving me back! ❤ so excited to watch your journey!!

Nope! Only coils the whole way. Month 3 one of my styles had twist In the front just to make my locs curly
As someone with hyperthyroidism I’d urge you to get a check up on your thyroid glands. The silver Coker you had on drew my attention and it looks like you have goitres. Hopefully it’s just my imagination and everything checks out fine.
