    True muscle cars do not have a V6 in them. They might have the exterior look of a muscle car, but it will never be a true muscle car.

    • @robo08ify
      @robo08ify 3 года назад +9

      So by your reasoning, a 1987 Buick Grand National GNX with the 3.8L v6 with 276 hp, 360 lb-ft of torque and a 0 to 60 time of approximately 4.5 seconds which was quicker than a Corvette of the same era is not a muscle car just because it had a v6? A modern Mustang or Camaro with the turbocharged 4 cyl or v6 aren’t muscle cars either? Both of those engines put out above 300 hp.

      Not everyone needs or wants a V8. A V6 motor produces plenty of power and is more than enough for daily driving. Many people get a V8 because they think it's the 'true' muscle car only to crash it later due to their inability to handle all that power. Also with a V6 you pay less for insurance and maintenance. If you want fun + practicality a V6 is better than V8.

      @@jimb8695 I agree that everyone does not want a V8. However, whenever you think of “muscle car” you associate it with “V8.” The terms “V8” and “muscle car” are synonymous since the inception of first muscle car, starting with the Pontiac GTO in 1964. There is a uniqueness when it comes to driving a muscle car because of the V8. The V6 removes the theater aspect associated with a muscle car. In regards to the insurance, owning a V6 is cheaper. However, if someone is buying a muscle car with a V8, they are not buying it for practicality reasons.

      @@x4tfxChallenger Each to their own. If I was still in my 20s and wanted to take my car to the strip, I would go for a V8. But as a guy who's approaching 40, a V6 will suit my lifestyle better.
