You are super amazing. Just the person I need to get my good grade in Biochem on Tuesday!! Keep making more of these videos and I'll see you in med school!
Over 30 videos in this series you uploaded was just fantastic!! I like your teaching style, rhythm, voice and you are super cool on top of them!! I really enjoyed watching these videos. Thanks
As someone who just started med school 8 years after pre-med, I'm in so much awe of how you made this way easier for us to understand! Thank you so so much!!
Ninja Nerd with the Lecture series that has made my studies so easy and am certain of high grades in the final as evidenced by the progressive assessments. Nothing and I mean nothing should slow you down in your work Ninja Nerd, you are a dependable teacher and be blessed. Thank you
13:43 Gluconeogenesis, what an amazing and beautiful pathway made even more beautiful by Pr. ZACH MURPHY . These three videos are really really helpful. ❤
I am studying biochemistry for 3 days =zero knowledge. Today casually saw ur video in you tube..... Sat for just 1.30 hours=gained biochemistry knowledge.... Take a bow to u.... U explained beautifully
Hello Zach. In the gluconeogenesis section of the video, specifically the part about pyruvate you said that it gets metabolized into AcetylCOA, then enters the Krebs cycle and gets metabolized to OAA, which in turn gets metabolized into PEP through the PEPCK enzyme and eventually into glucose. Based on your other videos I would say the correct pathway is for the pyruvate to be metabolized directly into OAA through the pyruvate carboxylase enzyme and then follow the same steps as stated above. That s because pyruvate(3c) loses a carbon in the transition phase in the form of CO2, and AcetylCOA(2c) brings 2 carbons into the Krebs cycle which are removed once again in the form of CO2 [Citrate(6c)/OAA(4C)], thus not providing the carbons necessary to form PEP and eventually glucose. Other than that it was a great video. Congratulations and keep going!
You are an incredible person... hats off.. million thanks for sharing your knowledge... whole series is extremely speechless............OMGGGG. I can never ever forget this.
Tomorrow i have my final exam and I’m a dentistry student and i can say that i don’t know what would i do if i don’t have you channel so really thanks a lot
dude,,,, i was afraid about all the metabolisms for my finals of biochem, but your videos helped me so much that my teacher ended up giving me "A" grade and her number,,,,, keep it up man❤️
Thank you so much sir. Honestly, you summarize everything that i learned for 1 whole semester. 6 hours more for my final paper and i really appreciate it sir.
Ninja Nerd Science Yep ! I'm a French pharm student. I have a big exams at the end of the year which require knowledge from 4years ago. Those videos help to remind it more quickly. And I never had the chance to have this synthetic view from a prof lecture

have been trying to watch shorter videos with animation, but I keep coming back to you because everything just makes sense and the way you connect it is just AMAZING! Love from India!
Beautiful! This metabolism series has been phenomenal. It makes so much sense now. Thank you so much! Glad to be a RUclips student of yours. You possess dynamic teaching skills.
Sir, You are awesome... really after so many years someone connected all the dots to make chain and interlinked all the pathways. thank you so much......
Oh my goodness, I am so glad I found your videos! I'm currently in Nursing, and we had to go through this entire metabolic map, and I was so focused on the little details and you helped me hone in on the big picture! Thank you so so much!
Thank you so much Ninja nerds for your videos. It really help us as medical students. I have a contribution to make. For pyruvate to be used for gluconeogenesis, it is directly converted to oxaloacetate by the action of the enzyme Pyruvate Carboxylase. If I heard you rightly, you said pyruvate can be decarboxylated to Acetyl CoA which can go through the TCA cycle and finally end up as oxaloacetate, which is then channelled through the gluconeogenesis pathway. But we know that as Acetyl CoA goes through the TCA cycle it is lost as 2 molecules of CO2 while the OAA is regenerated. Thank you 😊
Our clg has taught us different pathways but never explained the interconnection of these pathways🥺 You are awsm sir!!!! May God give you 1M subscribers soon
Thank you so much! It's so easy to understand now that we get to see the bigger picture of the whole metabolism processes, and can relate it with each other. The instructor did a very good job. Thank you so much.
Was struggling to wrap my head around how all the pathways intertwined as we were taught each one individually but expected to know the connections. You really explained the basic concepts better while my lecturer just threw a barrage of enzyme names at me in class. Gonna share this video to all my fellow students. ;)
I don´t even study medicine but I found this to be so extremely interesting. of course Im missing some parts cause I don´t fully understand every concept but it still really cool to see al these. I mean, I got excited when he talked about Gluconeogenesis, literally started laughing out of amazement. Cool vid, thanks.
Thank you so much for doing what you do. I owe so much to you, the Amoeba Sisters, Professor Dave, and Hank Green. But what I appreciate about Ninja Nerd specifically is that you go into INTENSE detail. Studying from home is tough, but I can't thank you enough for keeping these lectures free, comprehensive, and interesting. I hope to be a better dietician thanks to you!
You gained a new subscriber! It's hard to put all these processes together and see the big picture when we study them individually. You did an amazing job and I will be re-watching these videos as I get closer to test day!
Someone buy this guy a lifetime supply of dry eraser makers already!!! All. The. Colors. I'd love to take a class taught by you where I get to draw along with you with my colored pencils. This is extremely helpful and you have a bright future and amazing career ahead of you!
Now i understand how tag, glucose and aa are related to one another! Thank you so much for this video ❤❤❤ I hope to pass physician liscensure examination this september!wooooo Thank you again!
Great Video. Kudos! But actually, the conversion of the new Keto acids (Intermediates of TCA) is shunted into the gluconeogenesis pathway as Malate and not Oxaloacetate. And this is because, the Mitochondria Membrane has no transporter for OAA. Whereas, the Ketoacids must be transported to the Cytoplasm where most enzymes involved in gluconeogenesis are domiciled. I love your videos 🤗
You are super amazing. Just the person I need to get my good grade in Biochem on Tuesday!! Keep making more of these videos and I'll see you in med school!
