Since this will be the last video before my biochem exam: Thank you. These videos were fantastic, I have now watched all of them except the detailed ETC ones. If I pass, it will be in large parts thanks to you. But could you for future generations also do a video on Pyrimidine and Purine Synthesis and Degradation? I did pass. Currently doing state exams
😭 I have mine in 2 days, this channel has honestly helped me so much to understand biochemistry, I also agree that for future purine & pyramidine synthesis would be helpful and haem biosynthesis
Dont know why I am writing this right now , but my whole group adores you for making out biochem so easy ,especially metabolism . Our good grades are all because of you , still rewatching them ,because of how good your speach and knowlige are.amazing.
Somehow you have managed to teach me more in 28 minutes than any medical school professor has taught me in 6 weeks.... I try to give them the benefit of the doubt but the way you lay it out makes everything so much easier to digest (Ha!). I truly hope one day you are paid a trillion billion dollars cause you deserve it
Omg thank u so so so much I have an exam in two days and I was struggling with cholesterol and your video helped me A LOT wish u the best of luck , god bless you 💕
Thank to god and u i 've passed the exam easily without even assisting at university we need someone like u to teach us there you're my biochemestry hero!!! thank u so much please add french subtitles for us we study in french in algeria and please what's your secret to memorize all this informations ??? i wish more success for u in the near future keep going!! we need your help. thanks again
I ve been on a ketogenic lifestyle, and understanding the lipid and cholesterol metabolism is of great interest to me. I will be watching the rest of your videos on this topic, and perhaps others as well. Thanks again!
Tomorrow morning is my biochem exam. Thank you. These videos were fantastic, I have now watched almost all of them. If I pass, it will be in large parts thanks to you.
bro really asked why the cell membrane is important . honestly I never could have thought that someone can even make biochem fun to study . Thanks for putting all those efforts
Amazing video. My only concern in all of this is the fact that as a medical profession we insist on pushing statins on patients along with often many side effects to lower their cholesterol. Do statins lower cholesterol, undoubtedly yes. The bigger question is though why do we consider that to be a good thing. Study after study has shown that higher cholesterol levels are protective against stroke, CVD and all cause mortality. Women's health initiative, Sydney heart health study to name just 2 but there are many more. I suggest if you are interested in this then cardiologist Nadir Ali and researcher Zoe harcombe are a good starting point then maybe someone will figure out that statins are doing more harm than good. These have been around for decades and if they work as we hoped they would CVD would be on the decline. Maybe we got cholesterol wrong. Common sense to me says that the liver wouldn't go to the trouble of making cholesterol if we didn't need it!
Very much helpful before the last hour of exam... I just gave up learning such a complicated course, biochemistry.... But, you have helped me to start again...
I enjoy this content so much and recommend it to a lot of my other friends who are also studying Health Sciences. Your enthusiasm and passion for your work really makes the work so engaging and easier to gauge. You are and amazing teacher. Keep it up, man!❤👌😎
Great job and very informative! But I want to notice that the LDL is not "BAD CHOLESTEROL"! It's a very important molecule,as you've mentioned in this wonderful video, for cells life.
Obviously i respect what you say but disagree with the term "atherogenic" because the LDL is only a molecule that produced from our body(liver) to transfer lipids wherever our system needs! Now, if our body oxidized ,for a couple of reasons, our lipid molecules(LDL) it's not because the LDL is "BAD" but because of our choice to what we eat-think-doing lead to oxidative stress producing free oxygen radicals which in turn oxidized our lipids and other important molecules etc. I don't want to agree with me but I like the dialogue (Free speech, expression etc) For these reasons thank you very much for your response!
The fact that within the next few years you can go to med school for free just by sitting around watching RUclips videos, is amazing. And this is probably one of the best sources I've seen.
Fatty acids from the intestine over 12 carbons get packaged into chylomicrons (apo b-48) and are taken up by the lymph system and then dumped into the subclavian veins-> into blood circulation->dump some FA's to mcle and fat-> then go to liver. FA's from the intestine with 12 C's or less (eg. vinegar or coconut oil) get absorbed directly to the liver via the portal vein. Correct me if I'm wrong. Good videos.
wow!!! such. a wonderful presentation. detailed ,beautifully illustrated,. learned so much. going to watch all of your videos. please, keep doing exceelent service by educating us.
You’re literally saving lives of med students, i rlly appreciate the hard work u and ur team put in each single video! Tons and trillions of thank you won’t be enough🫡🫡
Hello dear Doctor Thank you so much for your interesting information about Health,i do appreciate your job.I wish you peace and happness under the sky of prosperity. All the best. Take care and have a good time. Your Student from Algeria.
I was just trying to learn a little about cholesterol. Fire hose! Seriously, I am positive my doctor does not know anything about this, or he is hiding it well. Why does he keep saying everything is fine just increase your insulin when you cheat a little, and then increase my statins or change them. I know my memory and sight are going, but they improve when I change my diet, but then I get light headed and weak. I really regret going to this doctor in the first place. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge, I will learn this stuff and fix my own body.
Hi Sir. Your videos are really helping us to understand the lectures and topics. Looking forward for the video on Regulation of Cholesterol Metabolism. Thank you.
At 10:17, I think you mean isopentENyl pyrophosphate! Great global view of metabolism in these videos, but, as an organic chemist, I think a few more structures would help!
You are one of the best at this , keep up the good work. You make it look so easy. I guess it is because you understand it very well. Very good video. Time well spent. Congrats on the clarity of the sequence on the cholesterol synthesis.
Beautiful video, but again statin has NOT been shown to prevent cardiovascular diseases. However I like you brought in the HMG CoA reductase to show what influence it 🙂🙏
I suggest that by the end of the video, zoom out the camera to the whole board to take a good screenshot 😍👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Yes man, you spoke by heart out!!😂😊
Hands down to this comment!
They do provide ss for some of the lectures,if you are a patreon 🤦🏻♂️
exactly!!!!
I'm struggling to have the screenshot for the whole whiteboard hehe.
How did my parents or everyone before internet came, even studied? Thank you! Massive help
Simple teachers that time teaches the same way as this... the invention of powerpoint doomed the educational system
