As an artist myself, I get the "deeper meaning" thing. But at the same time it is so insulting to the people who have spent years even decades of their lives perfecting their craft and get paid peanuts when people probably spent ten minutes on that and it sells for that much. The line for me is simply taping a banana to a canvas with duct tape and calling it art and selling it for that price. That's just offensive.

I've toyed with amateur arts (graphic design professionally) my whole life and the more I study the craft, the more lost I feel... So I do indeed occasionally think inside the box, a bottle of wine, and nasty 15 minutes! But these are my nasty 15 minutes. The fakes try to sell their expressionistic contemporary junk as their "15 minutes of privacy" when it's a fabricated lie.

The expression and the emotion of the artist is what matters. And ppl who judge a work of art by its variation and complexity end up making such videos. These artists put their feelings on canvas and they know what they're trying to say. They are not selling their art, they're selling their name. Ppl buy even the simplest of their works just to own a fragment of the artist's mind. Pls don't confuse selling their name with the quality of their art. Most of these so called simple paintings are sold for an exorbitant amount because it was made by a renowned artist. Modernism, and postmodernism is about shaking up the conventional norm in the classical art world, resulting in more connections mainly through emotion, and just relying on a structural design to make an opinion. I’m not a fan of this medium, but I do have an understanding/appreciation for the style. I’m currently studying for my Bachelors in fine arts. I recommend looking up Canadian artist Kent Monkman. He’s a contemporary artist who works in neoclassical, pop culture, and interpretivism.

The expression and the emotion of the artist is what matters. And ppl who judge a work of art by its variation and complexity end up making such videos. These artists put their feelings on canvas and they know what they're trying to say. They are not selling their art, they're selling their name. Ppl buy even the simplest of their works just to own a fragment of the artist's mind. Pls don't confuse selling their name with the quality of their art. Most of these so called simple paintings are sold for an exorbitant amount because it was made by a renowned artist. And if you do not understand the abstraction of an artist's work, either go educate yourself or just don't look at it because the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Modernism, and postmodernism is about shaking up the conventional norm in the classical art world, resulting in more connections mainly through emotion, and just relying on a structural design to make an opinion. I’m not a fan of this medium, but I do have an understanding/appreciation for the style. I’m currently studying for my Bachelors in fine arts. I recommend looking up Canadian artist Kent Monkman. He’s a contemporary artist who works in neoclassical, pop culture, and interpretivism.
