- Hi everyone, Thank you for watching Renovation School by Mostafa Samadi. On this video I explained how to clean a carburetor on a lawn mower? how to change oil on a lawn mower? how to sharpen a lawn mower blade? how to replace gas lines on a lawn mower? how to fix a lawn mower that won't start?
there are many brands of Yardbug lawn mower that are very similar to the one I'm fixing on this video, most common brands are Yard Bug Lawnmower, Craftsman DRM500, Yard works, Yardman, White, Cub cadet and more.

Nice work. Maybe just add a word about checking blade is balanced after sharpening. (Hold blade up with screwdriver horizontally through center hole. Blade should sit level. If not, grind down the blade on the heavy side. Re-check with screwdriver hang test until blade sits level.)

Hello. I have the same lawnmower and the spring ? (I guess you call it that) came off the handle used to raise and lower the deck on the inside .I don't know where it goes and how to put it on. Please help. I don't think I can attach a picture.
You need to open the lawnmower seat like what I did in the video so u can see the inside part where the engine is. Then you can spot the spring and you can see where exactly it came off of . Chances are it's broken. You can get a replacement or something close to it from any hardware store.

Thank you for your response but what I was referring to was the handle between your legs that raises the deck from 1 to 5 for cutting height. I wish I could attach a picture.

I have the exact same lawn mower, i bought this mower used 10 years ago and maintained it myself all these years. I was wondering if you know anything about the governor?? The mower is running really slow, I adjusted the go pedal cable and cleaned the carburetor several times, but it didn't help, I think something in the governor is messed up.

i recommand replacing the whole carb , you can find them for cheap on amazon , they mostly come with all the governer wires and stuff.
You can adjust the speed with the idle set screw on the carburetor. There are many videos on youtube.👍

hi I have same lawn mower Cani ask the front gear gone loose how to mend it please it always use to get stuck but last summer got so jammed and suddenly come loose mean not connection with function so now is stuck in gear as forward

its super simpel
theres a pully that pushes and puts tention on the belt , u can push that back by using a ratchet and sucket and the belt comes right off. then u put the new belt on.

Any small battery will work as long as the measurements are good enough to fit in the battery place.
I remember getting a battery for it from Costco.

Where can I find a belt

Hey its me again I have a exact same model and everything I been trying to bring it back to life I bought a new air filter added new oil new battery new spark plug but it does not crank when I turn the key any advice I think the starter may be bad or a fuse? I need help
take the spark plug out of the engine , plug in the harness and see when u turn the key and engine cranks it sparks?
another thing is maybe ur carb wires are not set up properly so u dont get enough air on the intake side
@@renovationschool8818 alright I checked and it turns out it needs a new fuse and solenoid but I ran into another problem it dosent come off neutral like it won't shift forward or reverse any tips?
@@alicornredrainbow7921 i suggest left up the seat portion and see if theres anything stuck there or maybe the link that is connected to it is bent or broken.

first is carb is not working right
second ur ignition coil is not working right ( specially if it dies after a few min when the engin gets warm)

Any lawn equipmet center or small engine parts store or mwchanic in your area must have it. its actually a very common blade . they are used for many other models and brand like Cub cadit, White, Lawn master, Lawn boy، Craftsman and many other models. just remove ur old blade and take it to any of the stores i mentioned , they will give u an exact match
in canada i go to canadian tire and homehardware. they always have it.

u can even try home depot and lowes, they have a big selection also.

u need to call a small engine parts store in ur area, they will be able to tell you , they have everything in their computer.

i dont know the belt size , you can call a small engine part store near you and ask them for the belt, they can tell u the right size.
My yard bugs grass shoot keeps clogging up and I have to continuously stop the machine. Can you suggest a fix for this?

It might be because the grass is too high.
try a nice and sharp blade or shappen it the way i showed in this video, put the lawn mower deck on the highest setting basically cut the grass as high as you can , you can go one more pass and bring it lower the second time it you want it to be shorter
its important to drive slow when mowing it and most importat thing is cut it as offten as you can like atleat ones a week specially in fall and spring when grass grows the most. one last thing , make sure the blade is installed the right way not backward.

@@renovationschool8818 Thanks. New problem that just started. The lawnmower stalls. Its starting to blowing smoke and sputtering and backfiring. It's got a new battery and carburater so should I try changing the lines now?
I forgot to mention that I noticed the seat senor was unplugged but I don't think it was bypassed. Could that be the problem?

if that sensor is unplugged it would only make it not to start! it has nothing to do with making it clog up
@@speedsidemclean1081 the carb has a small screw on it that has to be adjusted this screw is located on the side of he carb and is sitting on a spring , try tightening or loosening it , thats the reason u get smoke and sputtering, aslo check the oil level when the lawn mower is setting on a flat surface.

Take the old one to napa or anywhere in your area that sells small engin parts , they have lots of options

if u are talking about the fule filter , it was just a regular 1/4 inch line gas filter
