The XG+ is the most spacious and largest cab ever in the market today. Hopefully you could review one soon, Stavros! 😊👍
I wouldnt be worried about what i am driving. More concerned about the cabbage at the end of the week. Clearly theres an issue with wages because nobody wants to drive them. You can have all the fancy bells and whistles you want,no good without a driver in the seat
In my country drivers are paid on a per-trip basis, which has been blamed for incentivising them to speed
@@lzh4950 yeah thats not good, same thing with car mechanics, getting paid more the more cars they service, and they dont change the oil filter, just the oil. better to have a flat hourly fee
That cheers in the end of the video spread so much goodvibes and just make my day, really enjoy the effort for made this video and thanks 🙌
That "dual steering wheel" moment on the new XG+ was funny. I also noticed it myself when I looked at the wiper orientation that it was RHD.
I looked over the XG+ at Truckfest in Malvern last week...as a Daf fan i was very impressed with it
Nice video stavros wit a lot of good information ,the new daf looks really good and the APPELTAART too 😂😂😂😂👍👍
I'm from Holland and working at the assembly line and had to laugh about the apple tart send to you , I had one also send to me
Well looked after and clean xf fair play to the driver 👍you are right about the ding dongs very irritating 😖a little lip as opposed to a completely flat floor stops dust and bits of grit getting all over the cab but that's about it !!
I like the new daf but that wide angle camera sticking out won’t last too long in a truck wash with roller brush, if u cud turn it up with a hinge mite work, can’t wait to drive this new one , good video 👍
You can download a app on your phone and you can basically place a daf truck using your camera and with it you can also place the interior and in it you can see it has a little hump on the floor not more than a good 2/5 CM
Crying with laughter! Thanks that was a good laugh. I will say this: however underpowered a P series rigid, it still moves faster than the best castle in Ireland. ;-)
Tidy wee P series, id happily drive it
Had a p series identical to yours those back door locks fell out whatever holds them at the top came out I got them changed
I've been to the Malvern truckfest and spoken to a spokesperson at daf. They have said the reason why the floor is not completely flat in their XG+ model is to stop dirt and debris from going across the cab from drivers boots
This is exactly what I was thinking must be the reason, Stavros himself was complaining about dirt getting in his cab with his Scania in one of his past videos "Because the sides of the floor mats weren't high enough." Meanwhile I was thinking a small hump would take care of that. Plus putting higher sides on the floormats would just create a hump again?
Also, I've never heard anyone complain about the humps in the floors of trucks, even if you don't think they're useful for keeping dirt out of the rest of your cab, they don't get in the way as long as they aren't higher than 10-15cm (and I'm being conservative in that)
Bottom line I think flat floors in trucks is nothing more than a (marketing) gimmick, and is actually annoying at best to actually have other tan some sort of bragging rights
Sorry but you can clearly see that he steps in the truck at the left-hand side that's because it's a left hand side truck you can also see the camara filming him sitting at the left-hand side of the cab upto now as far as I know we didn't produce a right hand side truck as yet and I'm on the assembly line of the new DAF truck
What is the obsession with a flat floor, as long as you can get from side to side, does it matter if it's not perfectly flat
It does matter when you have bad knees.
@@p1kkujuha can't be that bad if you climb in and out of the cab...how many times a day???
@@LA-ph6hh well at least for me the problem is the knee angle, not the repetition. Climbing up and down doesn't require me to bend the knees as much as getting up to engine hump from drivers seat. I'd much prefer a flat floor.
@@ItzChaza it's somewhere between 10-15cm in my truck but it's good to know that I don't need to prefer a flat floor and find an engine hump annoying.
Great show 👍😀👍
468K miles on a 9 year old truck is pretty good.
it looks like it's in a good condition too. Nice find :)
That intro killed me😂😂
Would choose a manual or auto daf LF over that Scania anyday.
its always rain there I love your vids USA I love Daf
Cheers ain’t cringy 😂 I do say it with ya at the end ffs 🤦 😂 Delighted your back to the trucks 💚💚
I am sure daf is having a laugh with you with the apple tart😂
That intro 😆😆
Nice to see no cracks in them body plates, am a truck Mechanic / supervisor all to often I have these jokes missing little things that and tyres hanging off the rim, sorry for my little rant there, beautiful truck thought
Hahaha loved the intro made me laugh 😂
Lol, me too, it isn't a real daf without that sound
@@truckingwithwim8039 true
i panicked for a second hahah
When you hate driving a Daf. The moment you turn your key all hell will brake loose with loud sounds😂
I tought that tin was going to be cookies
The new daf range didn't maximise the regulations it only did 50cm rather than q full 1 metre extra and it really annoys me that it hasn't got a flat floor. Like this just showd how much more scania care about their customers they don't cheap out on a bloody step 😅😅 I love the flat floor of the cabs. It just adds to the premium feel and you know that a manufacturer really thought about their customers when the truck has a flat floor.
hope you enjoy your appletart buddy hahaha , hopefully you get your hand on one of them XG truck soon :D
Wow great information in the apple tart 😂😂😂
Daf went above and beyond there 😂🤦♂️
Watched the presentation video, yes the whole thing was CRINGE, while the apple tart they've sent you must be Dutch humour...🤣
The old livery is definitely nicer
Cheers. Enjoy the apple tart.
An appletart 😂, i expected it to be atleast one of hotwheels truck.. and also watching the launch video for like two times i never noticed the right hand drive turn into a left hand drive until i watched this 😅! One more comment about the mirror camera, i know someone driving an actros who's camera stopped working.. so thats a hazard of such technology 😕 there has to be some sort of backup since side mirrors are an important aspect!
4:10 Previously saw a Mitsubishi truck that put the bunk above instead of behind the seats, allowing the truck to be shorter
An apple tart in a tin, that’s DAF’t
An apple tart.....wow 🤣😂🤣😂
Well kinda daft for DAF truck to send you that i guess 🤨..i thought it should comes with some significant novelty of some sort considering that was some cool metallic container. Anyway enjoy the 🥧 buddy 😁. Cheers!
69 horsepower in the Civic... NICE!!
Your presentation has Kenworth noises, ITS funny
So, can we replace Jack In The box with the Apple Tart In The Box?
Anyway, very nice video 👍👍👍
Have Rory lynch bought that 6x2 Renault T in the background of your video Stavros?
Oh no!
Did ye paint it silver or wrap it
Hahaha that fucking DAF noise at the start 😂
My opinion only to the question here - Initial reactions are that it's come up a bit short..especially compared to the XF
Did the Fule economy of Scania 580 improved with the box
I’ll be talking about that on the R 560 in another video
What do you think about the new electric volvos, I have seen them on RUclips but not in the wild
David Attenborough did a programme about wild Volvos.
Presumably the apple tart is because it originated in Holland and DAF are a Dutch company
why did u sell the wee honda and were did u advertise it
Does that mean if the laws have changed that the xxl Volvo will be legal to run with a full size trailer to ?
8:56 (Daf impressions) for those of us who are impatient
Stavros another great vlog hopefully you will be able to travel soon to launches of any new trucks so you don't get sent silly present 😄👍👍👍
Sadly I have to say there's a hump in the XG+ to but it's mutch Les it's about 5 mm
You call that a hump.............
I reckon the new DAF will be nice I've drove most the new trucks out so far and nothing really beats the V8 Scania next gen but I reckon the DAF could be just as good
Why daf don,t have a flat floor. I have heared that the did that to make the Cab construction stronger in case to a head on-collision. It seems that those struts deform the cage construction in a head on collision. Don,t know or that is the real reason
I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or two DAF releases a completely flat floor cab. Being the first to market with the new dimension regulations probably meant they had to cut some corners, not just because of cost.
The question is now this: "Is DAF being Daft?"
Another great video
This new model will take 10 years to come to Brasil
Please, please, please tell me what colour code or name that blue is on the Scania chassis 💙 I need it for some Britians model Leyland Clydesdale MMB/DAIRY CREST TRANSPORT (Milk Marketing Board) Tankers.
👍😎👍MDS
I drive a 230bhp daf cf space cab 18t. It couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding with more than 3t on it!
Who does buy an 18T lorry with an 230bhp engine, you must be living on a hill.
@@weswesten4559 the bulk of my work comes from the peak district mate, makes life difficult with 9t load on. Even joining motorways at max weight is a nightmare
We have the new Daf and it has a flat floor
Haha that Apple tart cracked me up!
On a more serious note...
...It's interesting to see an established operator like yourselves buying older trucks, would it be possible to do a before and after of such a truck from when you purchase it to when you start using it? It's clear you guys have put some effort and money into a respray including the chassis etc, would also be interesting to hear why you purchased that particular truck etc.
Cheeeers.
Will you do a vid on the next gen T cab Scania if you can
Very hard to get as there’s not many about
@@stavros969 if traveling is alllwed again to the netherlands Vlastuin are the guys making these as well as the next gen longlines
Great show 💪
Why is a flat floor important?
They’re more comfortable to live in. Makes the cab feel bigger because you’re not tripping over an engine hump when you move around it.
Much more comfortable if you have bad knees.
Nice truck sir you are just like a jone Cena WWE
I know of a super driver.....Need!!!! Stavros you would look well in hannah's pencil skirt and I saw a daf street sweeper with steering wheels and a left hand drive motorbike
😅😂🤣.. I like your sense of humour Stavros... Well balanced nice video.. 👍
How did the apple tart taste?
see any more Peterbilt
my dreams
When are you going to do review on Chinese trucks like Sino & shacman.
Prob never
I'm from America I don't know how you stand them cab overs I guess its all what you get used to like watching the videos anyway
I wish they sold DAF, Scania and MAN here in the US.
DAFfle tart 😂
The new XG to me looks like the very same platform as the iveco, scania I’m not a fan lol
Its modern truck design, the only difference is the scandinavian ones look better than the rest
@@rioblyth3926
Sure your name is not Stevie Wonder?
Lorries still need to have 360 degree of vision zero blindspots and the windows need to be right down to the ground long plane window type. So that way motircyclists and cyclists dont get crushed on either side.
I thought eu were working on that?
I don’t like flat floors you can’t make tea on the go it’s to low down plus any dirt travels across the floor would not have a down hill daf any way only any good in the flat roads of Holland
Can't make tea on the go?😄 Afraid you're alone with that problem buddy.😄
Laugh is killing me stavros.😅😅. DAF really sent you that
I think DAF has always made nice trucks but this new technology not having real mirrors would be a big no no for me mind you automatic gearbox is a big no no for me . But I suppose they make automatic trucks now for all the so called HGV drivers who crash gears must be a big expense to companies I’m retired now but I still miss driving my DAF which is still going strong today working CAT 3 transport
Normal mirrors are available.
CHEEEEERS!!!!
Will the bigger Dafs be available in the UK as we have left the EU?
Now you can afford it all.
@@47rintin1 why?
@@davidleesfunandamazingvide2759 Boris Johnson told us that the UK is saving billions because of Brexit.
@@47rintin1 Boris Johnson cannot be trusted!!!!!!
@@davidleesfunandamazingvide2759 Yeah, we all know Brexit is one big lie. A los for the EU, dreadful for the UK.
Awesome Stavros 💯👍thank very very much 🙋🙌🙏
Good video 👍👍👍
Eat the tart carefully, might be USB drive inside with all the DAF secret
A set of rear storage lockers instead of the 2nd bunk would bring it into the future
Do you reckon the gearbox is still crap?
im not to excited about the new daf range.. and im not a fan of the mirrorcams.. i have tried those on the mercedes actros/antos.. i couldnt see depth like i can with mirrors.. plus.. if the cameras break down.. your not allowed to drive anymore untill you have a replacement mirror/camera..
more downsides with the cameras.. if it rains and there is a drop on the camera.. youre vision is gone..
if you got a sun set in the rear.. your screen turns white when the sunlight points into the cameras..
with normall mirrors i can read numberplates, see the driver.. even see the company logo on some vans.. with the cameras.. i cant see any of that..
only thing daf needed to fix if i would ever want to get one ( as i have driven some aswell) is the bugs and faults in the adblue and NOX sensors.. if you have any of those fauls the torque/horsepower output will drop by 40%.. and that happend a lot with a CF euro 5 220hp truck.. and with 8 tons of load.. i could use a calender to get up to 90 km/h

What about the new cabs in Scanias?
The 35 dislikes are from lovers of Rhubarb tart 😂😂
Hi Stavros how are you?. Great video about the new Daf. Nice seeing you yesterday in Bunratty Castle with your Daughters i was with my Girlfriend it was me who said hello to you.
@stavros969 Always nice to get a bit of tart.... especially when it's free lol🤣
17:12 nope, it's a left hand drive from the beginning
Nope. It has the wide angle corner cam on the left side of the cab, and that camera is on the opposite side of the driver. Either they've flipped the image or it is indeed a RHD to begin with.
@@lorenzopappatico lol i didnt noticed this. even the wipers are showing that the truck is a right hand drive but the DAF logo on the front is correct so the video is clearly edited. it is weird. sorry, my bad.
That truck must be a import with the height warning tickets on the head board and curtains waste of time boxes rge way to go to many get broken in to
😂😭
i dont know, ime not a driver, but American trucks seem a lot roomier do they not?
Hope you get hands on new Renault T Evolution
