Looks a really nice truck with a heck a lot of space in that cab and looking really comfortable for those overnight stops. Thanks for a great video. Stay safe Scott and take care.
The tilting bunk is a great idea, not only for if you have to park on a slope, but if like me you have acid reflux issues and need to keep your head that bit higher.
Acid reflux is related to man made citric acid. Eat natural ingredients & that should disappear !!! So no more baked beans, tomato ketchup, etc but natural tomato’s is fine. I like the bed, but if the system breaks it won’t be good. Should be mechanical
@@chris77777777ify Acid reflux is a pain if like me you have a hiatus hernia. It doesn`t matter what you eat, but yes, some foods are worse that others and other people may have varying degrees of suffering too!
Acid reflux is a pain for me to. But a quick tip add a small tea spoon of bicarbonate of soda to a glass of water and drink it bit. It will neutralise the acid reflux 👍🏻 give it a while before you lay down ok
The more I get used to the mirror cams the more I like them! I think the resolution on them needs to be a lot better but they are still very good for reversing especially the blind side. I really like the look of the new DAF range. Looks modern and straightforward to operate. I’d love to have a go in one.
The screens in mirrorless trucks are intentionally low quality, because a higher quality screen would mean the driver would be a Display Screen Equipment (DSE) user. The law says employers must plan work so there are breaks or changes of activity for employees who are DSE users. Can't have that.
Awesome buddy hope you are well.the daf range they look awesome what a fleet of trucks they would be if you had a company that had a fleet. Philip as passed all exams now including my cpc which I passed Friday just gone. Hope to see you soon take care and good luck for the future phil.
Always love a new truck, but can rarely afford one! Plenty of room in old model so if they've bettered that it's got to be good. That drivers window not going all the way down is just like the lower spec Scania's with seemingly only the top spec having fully lowering glass, on the old model only the P cab windows would not go all the way. Beautiful looking truck that Daf and if it is as keenly priced as the old model you will definitely see a lot more out on the road. The current XF against similar spec Scania is 20-30 thousand pounds difference in the Daf's favour. As for mirror cams, never tried them but the big advantage is the removal of a massive blind spot on either side. All the best Scott.
Love those XG's there's a Daffy dealer just down the road from me. I like going over and having a look at them. Can't drive 'em or afford one but I'd love one. (I do drive one in ETS2 though...)
Love the room inside of the cab and that feature for the bunk that you heighten and lower the bunk is a brilliant feature to have ..like yourself I don’t know about the cameras instead of mirrors ..maybe being old school and liking of having mirrors to see from but I definitely would give the cameras a try out..thanks for showing us the new Daf..keep it between the lines ..have a safe one 👍👍
DAF XK looks promising, look forward to you getting hold of one for a weeks test Scott! But in cab looks the business! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀🚛
Top tractor unit love the channel Scott ,went to Barmouth for 3 night stay last week in a car and sat tools us down country lanes for miles it was my daughter who said this is the quick way all I kept saying was I hope I don’t bloody bump into Scott Andrew’s coming the opposite way ,anyway had a great time there and love your Chanel keep up the good work top stuff.
Looks stunning. I’ve driven yeah in Euro Truck Simulator 2 lol but in seriousness it’s so modern looking can’t wait to see you drive one Scott. Hopefully Jenko will get to have a go of one when Ferryman get theirs.
We had a new DAF on demo at ours. Big improvement on the interior. But the gearbox still takes 3-5 working days to figure out what it’s doing. Ours was a 480 XF demo.
Looks great. Have sat in one at Pembrey convoy. Mirrors for me. Hate the Merc cam mirrors and actually think they are unsafe in wet conditions at night. I hope DAF cams are better.
I currently drive the new XF 480, over all I am happy with the truck but the camera mirrors don't follow the trailer when reversing which I have no idea why, could be a fault or just isn't a feature, I haven't looked into it because it's not too much of an issue as the bottom wide mirror is just about big enough to see, window is annoying but that's pretty much all that bothers me, it's very comfy to drive and sleep in. Just need to upgrade the speakers, get new units with my company but they're very low spec
Nice looking truck inside and out. I've had a go in one on euro truck simulator only problem is can't find the fuel gauge on the dash haha all well enough a good truck very quiet but only has the 4x2 chassic and the tag axle would prefer ot it had midlife but I'll stay with the 106 daf ssc for now.
The Dafs look awesome way better than what I had when I was driving spent 2 years in a Leyland daf 85 low cab and a Foden Alpha with the same cab. Saw your old truck is up for sale.
I think I passed you on the M18 on Thursday around lunchtime. I was heading north where as you, if it were you heading south stuck in traffic by the Stockyard
@@ScottAndrews I think there was some hold up around j29a when I was coming north. There was a van and 2 police cars just before that junction on the Southbound.
Scott l all ready drive the new DAF truck in yellow the one you had a look at at the DAF factory my new DAF truck is adorable as she is just like my old DAF truck very comfortable and very lovely to drive and the new heating is a lot more better as it keeps you more warmer when you are a long distant tramper eating and drinking and relaxing away from female horn Mones and the new CCTV and the new sat nav is built in
The button with the A, looks like its an on/off ignition button, ie, when you stop at lights, your engine stops, and as soon as you use your clutch, the engine automatically turns on. If you use this A button, it will stop it, so your engine never stops. Also, not seen all of the video, so forgive me if I've not reached that part yet, but where's the tv socket?🤣. OK, just seen the A part, so I'm wrong🤣🤣🤣🤣
Like the truck very much, but that window not going right down would drive me nuts, & of course it will be extremely uncomfortable to lean on at any time..
With people wanting bigger windows now a days, It's getting hard to avoid. Unfortunately. There is just not enough room inside the doors to let them go down all the way, It's the price one has to pay for wanting bigger windows for more visibility and such.
How often do you adjust the steering wheel? Mine has been in the same position for years now. I can easily climb in and out rhe 105 cab without raising the wheel.
Hate the camera mirrors! I'm only 5' an wear glasses for distance which means when i look in offside mirror its just a blur! We just got 5 all have low air after being parked up for half hour. Sound nice untill you show it hill!
After now driving one for a week, I prefer the older XF than I do these, They're not as comfortable in my opinion. In mine at least, there is no 24v socket (if this is an optional extra now I don't know, but why wouldn't you put a 24v socket in there, its practically standard in a truck). The windows as you mentioned not going down all the way. Can't comment on the mirror cams as I have proper wing mirrors on mine. And all the EBS , lane departures are now within the computer, no button for it anymore. And the standard horn is not also as good. Personal preference of mine i guess, but the cruise control should be on the right side of steering wheel. And automatic wipers make me want to puke. Always too sensitive. WOW this turned into a rant. lol
massive by our standards.. but I saw a video earlier of a couple that had a custom peterbilt made (us ofc) and its bhte bigest they would agree to make it.. had a living space in the back that would make Rv's feel inferior
Dash looks nice. Daf puts the mirrors the wrong way around so when you pull the blind down it cuts of the big mirror, like Volvo IDIOTS. Don’t like mirror cams. Fridge freezer good idea. Don’t like the beeping when door open, lights left on etc. Quite like the steering wheel, but hate the Daf badge. They painted in Gold, but it’s fake gold, all to trick the mind into thinking it’s worth something, like the pound coin Daf still has the same gearbox, overall no fuel savings or additional power such as crawler gears. Bed idea is good until it BREAKS.
You didn't show the swivel chairs (yes, plural) and the table in the middle of the cab/dash ... And you do have a point about the window not being able to go down all the way, but the window is anyway a lot bigger (goes further down) than with previous DAF models. So it's more like a visual thing than factual...
The window is terrible and the window in my 105 goes down all the way. Its a shame it has no manual gearbox and that bloody window. The rest is fantastic and no other truck can match that.
i run 5 dafs and 5 volvos and the dafs are as reliable as the volvos ok maybe apart from inside bulbs its all down to how there looked after , two dafs have gone round the clock without the engine or clutch being changed
So they made a brand new design that they build from the ground up, And you say it's just like the 95XF from the early 2000's.... You might want to do some research on that in stead of making a assumption into your own reality.
Still a poor man’s Scania and looks very bare without a sun visor , never tried these mirrorless trucks but what happens if there’s an electronic failure 🤷🏻♂️…Hard to beat a V8 engined Scania especially the S650 an absolute mountain stormer …
