And I'm very happy to send it to you. But you have to wait a bit, since I'm on vacation now. But I will send everything out first thing when I'm back 🔙
My heart really felt for you in the “Moment of Realisation” but still what a fantastic video. The box looks wonderful. You are so good to be giving away an old restoration project of your’s. Well done yet again. ❤️
I think the way you fixed your mistake added an important detail to this project. The edge to open the box is now easier to catch with your thumb. This is beautiful.
Beautifully done. The herringbone was spot on the whole way through, no mistakes, no deviations! A gorgeous vessel for a lovely piece. I hope he enjoys it. I know I enjoyed this build, tremendously. Thanks Dr B.
what a GREAT SAVE with that handle!!! those magnets looks so strong that you NEED to have SOME kind of handle and what a great way to fix a silly mistake lol I just LOVE this box!! it's so simple but looks COMPLEX! you really NAILED this one (and without ANY NAILS!! haha) GREAT WORK!
That magnificent box would be on permanent display at my house! You manage a wonderful combination of skill, beauty, nostalgia, and humor in these fascinating videos. Thank you! 😊
That was absolutely fantastic sir and also to prove you are human. Not a lot of people would show their mistakes. Credit to you. Take care and stay safe. Have a happy new year. Tom.
The tools nice. But I would be really happy with the box. I love it! Excellent job! Congratulations to Sam. I think you'll have something special for years to come. Take care from Canada eh!
I assume that the prices for screw clamps were subsequently adjusted in the surrounding hardware stores :D Insane effort that is reflected in a good-looking tool box.
I think I saw a trick for getting nice and even laser cuts. Basically it involved making the board a couple of millimeters taller, like one or two, and use the planer to evenly cut the bottom clean off and get nice cuts
Very nicely done sir. It might not be the prettiest, and even this is debatable, but the fact you made do with those pieces of plywood and little else, it is very very cool. Nice thoughts and touches too. Thank you.
Box turned out really well! I like how the oil finish brings out the contrast. A finishing touch would have been to make a foam liner for the lid. You could have used the contrasting foam in layers to cut your logo into it to match the layered wood top, and it would keep the tool inside more secure. Congratulations to the winner!
You may have had a little easier time with getting flat board by using solid spacer wood to distribute the clamping force when you glued the herringbone together. I think direct clamps let it wiggle/shift more
Only those of us that have done something so simply dumb, felt the pain of that realization! I, also, said to myself as I watched you place them, "Oh boy, I hope he doublechecked the polarization." Brilliant fix, though. It turned out to be a great handle feature. Happy accidents!
Initially I didn't make a bid because I figured someone else would need it more. Now I'm thoroughly jealous and wish I had bid! Gorgeous work NTR! Even the mistake (I saw it happening and yelled at my screen to stop!) you made the fix look like it was your original plan. How many hours did you put into the case? I want to be you when I grow up!
Maybe I would have made a closed box and later opened it in half with the disc saw, that saves assembly work in half and makes everything fit better. Anyway thanks for entertainment
You say that this box will do for a giveaway like it's not a gorgeous piece of woodworking holding a well restored tool. 😅 When you were done i found myself reaching for my wallet so I could order one! Might want to consider that in the future.
hmmm, i don't like Commercials. xTool felt had sent this Tool at every Maker, but whitout markings of advertising. personally, i find that proplematic and won't support that. Please do again restoration videos whitout advertising of sponsored Stuff in the center!
Hello hope your well
Im very happy to say im the winner of the monkey wrench
Cant wait to receive it 😀
And I'm very happy to send it to you. But you have to wait a bit, since I'm on vacation now. But I will send everything out first thing when I'm back 🔙
@@NTRprojects no problems!
Hope you have a good holiday:)
Hey, congratulations! I hope it brings you much pleasure and maybe some inspiration as well..
@@jozsefizsak thanks! Definitely it will inspire me to continue my mechanics course and learn new things
Congratulations! What a stroke of luck to win a great tool, and handmade case as well. Use it in good health 💜🥰
😂 as you put the magnets in I thought “I hope he checked those off camera”. I would absolutely have done the same mistake!
My husband made the same comment!
Thanks
Thanks a lot Tom

😍 Wow, that's an amazing gift box!
Love the robot sander at 7:02 😄
What a magnificent video. You truly are a renaissance man! Also heartfelt congratulations to Mr Sam Rengert on his win. Cheers from OZ mate.😀
Beautiful box!! Even though it was a mistake it added an artistic touch that made it look like it was supposed to be there!!
Ich habe zum Schluss echt aufgeatmet.
Ich dachte schon,
es gäbe keinen Biertest.
Meinen Glückwunsch an den Gewinner.
Grüsse aus dem fernen Bangkok.
What am I going to do? I just finished watching every single video on your channel..Yes, years of videos.. can't wait for more! Really amazing work!
I binged all his videos as well, makes it tough waiting for the new one! Have you watched Mr. Patina yet?
What a wonderful keepsake! I'm sure he'll enjoy not only the tool, but what it came in for a very long time! Congratulations Sam 🎉😊
Thanks! Definitely im very excited to receive it :)

You have the best sense of humor in your videos. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations Sam, jealous. Great video as always, since I found your channel you make my favorite restoration videos
Nice work Dr. Beer 👏👏👏. You restored that plywood not terribly at all 😁😁😁. 😎
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Rio de Janeiro - 🇧🇷
Excellent way to turn an oops moment to a stand out feature 👍👍
Well said. Thank you very much
The tools nice. But I would be really happy with the box. I love it! Excellent job! Congratulations to Sam. I think you'll have something special for years to come. Take care from Canada eh!
Way to incorporate that mistake into the design of the box! Bravo.
This is one the most boxes I've ever seen!
Well, that's certainly elaborate. Some might say you got a bit carried away but I understand that tendency. Very nice! 😊
I never received a notification of this posting. But, what a great project to watch! Great job!!!
Glad you found it buddy. Best regards

Insane effort that is reflected in a good-looking tool box.
Humble suggestion. Add some foam to the top of the box. (Safety in transport more than anything) Well done.
WOW now that's craftmanship, thanks for the vids.
Great job as always. My son and I dug it.
Congrats to Sam!
I saw that happening with the magnets. Always put the first of the second group in without glue and test!
nice box, as soon as you put in the magnets I was concerned, I print little d&d magnet boxes and it's the worst part lol. Keep up the good work!
4:54 So great to see you wearing all the PPE! Safety is so undervalued on youtube it feels sometimes
Don't know if i like the box th content more :)
But my absolute highlight is the "custom plywood". Very good idea. Great job.
I think I saw a trick for getting nice and even laser cuts.
Basically it involved making the board a couple of millimeters taller, like one or two, and use the planer to evenly cut the bottom clean off and get nice cuts
Only you could turn a mistake into a design feature. 😅 Great job.
Thanks 😅
Very nicely done sir.

Hello mister beautifully made good job well done
Thank you! Cheers!

My though was a piece of heavy flannel or velvet on top of wrench like in a violin case.
Both great ideas. I will do one of them before I send it out to Sam
11:41 You can use the 3 wooden circles as coasters for your beer!
Love it
Fantastic work, you made a beautiful box. Thank you for giving us a video of making it. Always love seeing woodworking content as well. 😀
Very nicely done, a generous gift.
Love the box!

Woah, I had no idea marking pins like that existed! How much easier my work could have been if I'd known!
Right?! I love them
You may have had a little easier time with getting flat board by using solid spacer wood to distribute the clamping force when you glued the herringbone together. I think direct clamps let it wiggle/shift more
Beautiful box, It became a piece of art 😃😃
Amazing videoz thx! Such a surprise to see the Ichnusa at the end :) beer from Sardinia 🎉
That was amazing!
Pretty sweet!
Beautiful work
Great job great beer
Belíssimo trabalho...!

Wow, this is a stubborn person, a cool guy 👍😁👍
Initially I didn't make a bid because I figured someone else would need it more. Now I'm thoroughly jealous and wish I had bid!

Gorgeous.
What are those hinges called? Where do we buy them?
I hope this helps ;) amzn.to/47NUcRx
That is a beautiful box, especially considering it's mainly scrap wood.
Great Video 👌
Why didn't you stain the end of the dowels on top, or did you like the circular dots they made?
Yes I liked the contrast, otherwise I would not have drilled the holes through at all I guess
I like those bar clamps - HF ?
Buy the "Ichnusa Cruda" next time. That one seems to be a far better version of the beer you drank. It's apparently treated raw.
Maybe I would have made a closed box and later opened it in half with the disc saw, that saves assembly work in half and makes everything fit better. Anyway thanks for entertainment
I would have added champers around the corners. Currently seems a bit to bulky for me.
What kind of hidden hinges are those ?
You say that this box will do for a giveaway like it's not a gorgeous piece of woodworking holding a well restored tool. 😅 When you were done i found myself reaching for my wallet so I could order one! Might want to consider that in the future.
💯
Schöne Kiste
Great job! 👴🏻🇦🇺
Nice job, my friend. (Though, those are not dovetails)
Lol I thought the same thing but figured why not let it slide 😉
you probably messed up the orientation of the magnets because you didn't have a beer before you started assembling your project like you usually do ;)
👍🏻👍🏻
all looks great but all them magnets, 3 would have been enough.
2:36 Must...resist...inappropriate...joke
I really didn't liked the idea for the top of the box , could have been better. 😊
And then at the end: "Scheiße"
Typical German craftsmanship
Woodworking - 10, magnet physics - 0
