You know what the sims 4 needs? Throw pillows. Like decorative pillows we can put on chairs and sofas and beds and stuff and still have the sofa or whatever still he functional. And the pillow could add a level of comfort, like comfort +2 or whatever
OOOOOO that'd be amazing! If it would slot to beds and couches and increased the sleep levels and the comfort levels that would make so many more of the cute furniture more usable in gameplay. It could be sold at the university stands too so you can slightly increase the beds they give you at the dorms.

Like your sims would finally stop complaining about the cheap bed, which is like the only bed in base game that doesn’t look completely ridiculous, and it really would help university beds and sofas. Like all the normal-looking stuff is super cheap and your sims whine about it, but throw pillows would make it so much better

Call me weird, but I'd love a kpop/anime mod with merchandise ( posters, plushies, albums, a radio to play the music). And there'd be like different interactions with the merch which would make your sim happy or give them a new hobby like dancing or collecting. AHHHH it would be so cuteeee

@@logandaugherty492 Although some things will make it count as like not a dorm, so when ppl invite sims over they won’t leave. Like you can’t add a stove and stuff.

I got a mod that separates the bed frame and mattress of the university beds and I was so excited to use it the dorms because then it could look like standard furniture for all the rooms but everyone brought their own duvet covers. But it didn’t work with separated beds and it wouldn’t let you save it without regular beds in it so I was so sad.
It’s a really fun pack. The posters are probably the best part. The Sims have the worst teen posters.
As a teen, I mildly disagree. The references are pretty clever. Base game posters are not too bad. Granted, this is coming from a teen who has one poster and hasn't even hung it up yet.

@@KaraKubed well... there are kits, but mods are much more worthwhile than kits, as in these people's mods there are 40/50 parts/objects, in kits, there are 20, and both are 5 dollars (but for the mods, is 5 dollars per month and it's just for 1 cc creator, but it worth it)

WHYYYY doesn’t EA just hire CC creators to make all of their content? It has to be cheaper for them. This is so much better than their packs.
kits would be the perfect opportunity to collab w cc creators and modders!
My honest guess is that they just don’t feel the need to. They control the base game and can set the tone while the mods keep their product relevant without them having to pay for them.
A decent amount of modders for all manner of games can make an actual living just from patreon aso. and a lot gain financial benefits if their product is well received.
Sims 4 is one of those titles that are in a popular niche.
Like, as a guy & passionate nerd (ranging from for instance, workout science to geopolitics and of course, gaming) for all sorts of things Sims 4 is probably the game with the most female demand I know on the entire gaming market.
Most big games still target very broad, traditional audiences ( like shooters ) so the competition is very high. They also have a much shorter development cycle and a much shorter shell life. I purchased the Sims 4 back in 2015 and I still enjoy playing it.
However, with the Sims 4, I did the math, one of the stuff packs for 5€ has a roughly 20 cent per item cost for consumers. Now, of course, they still have to do some marketing but they literally have dozens of channels that do it for them and they know it & utilize this advantage. Basically, this isa gold mine. You just have to put in enough work to keep the gameplay fresh enough and mods do the rest.
Smaller, new titles in this kind of genre would have to rely on stronger gameplay to carry them but the issue is that Sims 4 doesn’t get old the same way other games do if they have no community because, like we all know, CC makes the Sims 4 what it is. This allows EA to keep improving the mechanics and smoothing out the experience.
This means that the only rival for Sims 4 would be another big studio but studios don’t like competition. In fact, I would argue that they usually avoid each other. Game development is a big expense after all and there is often a risk involved.
Also remember, if your customers can not play your product, you can not sell anything to you, another reason to keep the base game nice and simple and let modders patch their own stuff, free of charge.
That EA even still does the bigger packs, shows just how lucrative this game really is.
The more you think about it, the more you realize that paying modders only makes sense if you have a reason to do so but EA just doesn’t need to in any capacity.

I hate that teenagers are just like adults. I’d like them to have teenage traits and teenage ambitions :(
I wish they had their own activities too! Like school clubs, or being able to do cheerleading, join the school sports team, have school dances and events like a highschool graduation. I also wish there were more lot types centered towards kids and teens like arcades! If I want my teens to hang out with friends their rlly aren’t many interesting options tbh. It also would be cool if teens could have jobs that we got to go to. Like yes there is babysitting but it’s a rabbit hole.
@@sleepytoons2155 nothing for teens to do when they hangout just like in real life lol. All I do with my friends is window shop and just hangout and talk.
Fr, with the todddlers and kids i try to get their skills maxed before they age up, but once I get to them being teens I will play for a couple in game days and then end up just ageing them up and having them move out. I defrinatley wish their was more that was teen specific.
Teens in the Sims are so neglected, it's such an important part of life with many achievements but you have none of that in the game

the funny this is that this cc creator has kept their cc under a paywall for MONTHS and even when you pay $10 you only get access to ONE pack. Like wtf? De-platform this guy... worse than EA

Modders have separated all Maxis beds and mattresses too - and yes you can match any mattress to any bed. Bazillions of options.
That's one of my favorite things about cc beds. I've downloaded tons of Peacemaker's beds and I'm just dumbfounded to see that I can mix and match the beds and the mattresses from different packs together. It's really cool

Shame that its still locked behind a $10 paywall as of Feb 11th. I like to support creators and have done so in the past, but $10 is a little steep. About as much 1 full price EA 'Stuff Pack' or an on sale 'Game Pack,' which has a lot more overall content IMO. I'd be happy to throw them a few bucks, maybe even $5, but I'll wait until its free I guess.
Still, thanks for the video! I love when you highlight very interesting CC! For example: That mini-cupcake machine as a bag of frosting is a lifesaver lol
Yeah especially because there's rules from the simgurus that are literally against this? I can't believe its STILL behind a paywall when sim gurus have said paid content can only be in "early access" for 2 weeks before being free.
It's still behind a paywall as of today june 29th 2022... as are all his newer sets.

This set, along with all his sets since december 1st 2021, is perma-paywalled. You have to plege $10 to get access to 1 of his older packs, which means if you like this one and another one of his sets since december, you can only pick one of them unless you pledge $10 again. Very nice behavior. Really sharing with the community. He earns around 11K a month (assuming his patreons are regular and only pledged $5) on his patreon. Let that sink in. And maybe support other creators that doesn't force you to pay for you to enjoy their content. (this comment was posted june 29th 2022)
in light of the recent statement I've been wondering if this pack would go public, because honestly I really love it, but seeing as this is regular behavior for him I doubt we'll see a change lol.

I had Sims 1-3 on PC(RIP two laptops and a desktop😅), and while I loved my CC back then, I really am not that mad about having Sims 4 on console. It's been pretty enjoyable, and I definitely wouldn't want to buy alllll of my packs again on PC.

The bed with the shelves underneath, I’m actually looking into building a bed frame like that for my king size bed. But I also want to add a lift-up platform for storage under the bed.

It's still locked now and it isn't supposed to be allowed after two weeks. It's a bit disappointing, tbh.

There is supposed to be a law for CC creators keeping them from leaving their stuff behind a paywall for more than 2 weeks (an early access) and last time I checked, the cc in this vid has been behind a paywall for months now... so technically what they're doing is illegal because they're using EA to make more money for themselves. Hpwever EA never enforces the rule, so some creators leave their stuff behind a paywall forever. I don't know if this cc pack in particular will ever be released for free but you never know.

Am I the only one that noticed she never put a mattress in the sample room…? (That annoys me just a tad but with how many parts to the pack there are I can understand how she forgot it!) It’s a gorgeous room and I love the pack!

I feel like the sims needs some sort of milestone or life goals system, maybe next to the family trees there's some type of check-list and it's catered to the type of sim they are and their age group like for example maybe one of the child's life goals is to get a best friend or get a pet cat but a young adults is to go on their first date and get their first job (you could potentially cross off ones you don't want, like having a first kiss as a teen) and maybe when you complete all of them you'll occasionally get ones like learn/improve 3 skills? and completing a goal would give your sim a happy moodlet for like a day or two? just a thought! I think it'd be really cute if this was in the game and would actually give your game a sense of direction and things to strive for!

what would be the difference between this and aspirations + whims?
@@giuliaf5696 because instead it being something like a very long tutorial (like most aspirations) or just whims that don't really matter (most whims are like "hug romantic partner" or "tell a joke")
it would be more like a list of long time accomplishments for your sim to get through their life stage like getting your first job or graduating university (this would pop up if you send your sims to uni) or maybe it just doesn't make sense I'm not sure

I have little computer space so I have to be picky about cc and getting packs. I think I’m gonna download this. It looks like there is SO MUCH personality in these objects. Even just a single poster really paints a small picture about your teen and who they might grow up to be. I love it. So much. I think I’ll have to download this

If you havent i highly recommend checking out the preteens mod(forgot by who but still work in progress) also i highly recommend checking out the cc manager mod found on mod the sims it just released back in december and had an update on January 6th. Also i love you kayla youve been super inspiring to myself during a rough time.

Yes, you very much can use a mattress and bed frame from different creatures. I have so many of them I no longer even look at where they came from. I just pick a bed frame that fit the vibe, and then pick a mattress that also fit the vibe
I just started trying to figure out how to play the Sims, I have never played any other Sims game so I am still trying to figure it out but I have been watching your videos and I have actually learned how to build a house and put a roof on it now if only I can figure out everything else
I have a ton of cc in my game. More then maxis really. And some of it are beds and beddings and the mix and matching between different creators work sometimes. It depend on the design of the beds. Sometimes it cuts weird where the bed and bedding meets. I dont know how to explaine it.
i used to be a never-modder, but now i have the laggiest game ever cause it’s been packed with cc ever since i was introduced to it. thanks kayak!

You could paint the wall in front of your desk in the new house hot pink as well as the alcove. Then do pastel pink on the other walls and the ceiling. And yes, I said the ceiling. It makes things so much more cozy and cohesive to have painted ceilings too. OR... you could do pastel pink on all the walls and ombre the two angular walls that meet the ceiling and do a hot pink ceiling. That would be really cool too.

the tablet was my personal favorite! i havent seen the animation of sims using it yet, so i presume its just like a normal computer, but you can pretend your sim is a digital artist! (also as a side-note, you can use the "digital sketchpad", its kinda like a wacom mobile studio)
That mannequin stand is in the sims 2 same size and came in the basic brownish color. I dont think it had the plumbob but what a nice little tidbit to have and honor the past game :) they did a great job eith this

I also had a pink room as a child, it changed from light pink princess theme to black and hot pink animal print theme when I became a preteen
I’m getting this for my game it all even works out for dorms and uni
I had a pink room as a kid! My favorite color was pink for awhile and mom's was purple. She had a lot of purple throughout the house and wanted my room to still match overall, but I insisted on pink, so we compromised: we painted my room a mauve color and I had a dimmer switch, so when my room was bright, it looked pink; with the lights dimmed, it looked purple.
Now I just have boring cream-colored walls. :(

I’d love a skateboarding/roller skating pack. Like I know there’s already that roller rink but it would be cool if sims could use it around town kinda in the same way they use bikes. And also like maybe introducing skateparks as a lot type! i feel like it would be really fun gameplay for all ages

Yes the mattresses and bed frames can usually be mixed and matched :). I love the pack and the poster art but I wish we had people with different skin tones on the art, that's my only criticism.
Tapestry is the one thing that I wish it was there as well. I would be so cool!
