I don't even have anything to tow but I want the trailer
richodagreat just get a bike

Imagine building a camper on one of these. No need for tall levelling jacks, just put a couple of blocks under it and drop.
You’ll have ppl calling you don’t worry
I owned a trailer like this that was invented by a race car fabricator in the late 80's. It was a hydraulic lift
instead of air. The wheels were positioned back further than yours so after you drive the car onto the trailer, you could open the door and get out with out hitting the tandems. I owned the trailer and used it from 2000 to 2010 and sold it.
This is absolutely genius. I was looking at ways to build a trailer from scratch to load a low race car and you have come up with the best design.
A must have for all custom car builders. What a great idea
Thank you!
Very true! I got a 1951 Buick on air ride. I tried to put the car on a regular trailer once. I got half way up and realized the car was way too wide and too long for the trailer. People tell me to I should fix up a smaller car. This trailer is awesome.
Problably the only trailer ever that will get you laid.
You're a genius for inventing this.

Barnacules Nerdgasm wow
the best towing invention i have seen in a long, long time, now all its missing is a failsafe in the case of an airline rupture or airbag failure
Well it would be pretty easy to do even if you bought the trailer and did it yourself. All you need to do is have four separate switches for the axles, then if you lose one airline you only lose pressure on one tire. And you could perhaps have a hunk of steel with a pin at each end - the suspension in the upright position if all else fails. Obviously you would not have any suspension travel at this point but some trailers are that way anyway
+nathan campbell Hi Nathan, there are safety stops which prevent it lowering while towing. Also the lines are plumbed individually, so if you were to ever get a leak at some point it would not lower from loss of pressure in one bag. Please see our website for the current version.
This is such a brilliant concept in car trailering. To the developer, I hope your idea is well protected, and that you make millions in profit off of this! You've earned it! I can't wait until these trailers make it mainstream!
Anyone who's worked a labouring job transporting dirt with wheel barrows would know how awesome it would be not having to run barrows up steep skinny ramps.
Yes that is very true! Also we think that this may be good for furniture movers or other such industry where ramps make working difficult and/or dangerous. Would just need to add an enclosure if required.
vdd
Would be a nice feature on an enclosed cargo trailer.
I tried for years to make an Airbagged dropping trailer. I was using swing axles. I failed. You succeeded. I hope you doc well, this is brilliant.
I actually "Scratch-built" a very small trailer to haul my 2000 SCCA Formula 500 race car (< 2" clearance) using some pretty crude levers. But, it worked well enough to get it in/out of the trailer and MUCH easier to get around the paddock/gas pumps with that solid rear axle and sticky slicks.
This is a very good idea...thanks and I wish you much success! Jim
Thanks!
AMAZING!!!
Thank you AirbaggedTrailers! You have done a wonderful thing.
when he said you could run air tools, i flipped out!! awesome
This is precicely what I was looking for. I think it would be great to have this on a caravan. Super smooth ride and ajustable ground clearance.
This is a genius idea for those of us with motorcycles that on occasion get tired and need a ride. So much safer to load and unload. Strong work sir!
Thanks! We're just starting on our second one now that has motorcycle wheel chocks added to it. May also add a smaller motorcycle version if there is demand for it. www.airbaggedtrailers.com
If you type in motorcycle loading fails here you will notice there are too many failed attempts to load a motorcycle on the bed of a truck that was too high to do it safely.
I'm thinkin bout buildin 1 with a couch or recliner on it,so my mother inlaw can get around alil easier?
LMFAO!! You sir have just won the comment section!
I don't think u have a mother in law. U want it for your own mother. Like the guy that says.. "do u have any advice for my friend?" Because we all know it's for u.
Don’t forget the tiedown cleats. No wait. Nvm. Let her fly.
Forklift bro.much easier
Classic AL Bundy joke, lol
Damn you did was I was thinking of doing for the passed few years. your design is far better then the one I had come up with tho.
*past
I think every tow company should have to own one of these.
This is the coolest damn thing I have seen in a while....I need it
Absolutely brilliant
Thanks!
my next trailer. dude you are a genius!

Airbagged Trailers
I'm the go to guy for hauling kids friends lowered Honda's etc when they break. I can remove a bumper n my sleep.lol this would be so much easier. if only I had a brain.lmao
@@randyprevette3903, look into the old school heavy construction equipment and old military transport tech. This concept has been around since the 1960's.
one of the best ideas I have seen in a long time!
Cheers Rob. I know I answered this on Facebook already but will answer here as well for other people reading it. The trailer can't lay flat while hooked onto the tow ball. The car can be loaded onto the trailer and then raised up and hitched, if that's required. The majority of the time it is simple enough to just drop the back down while it's still hooked onto the tow ball. Cheers
this is one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" moment
Thinking of it is something many would-be inventors do. Prototyping it is where most people give up.
DO some digging. This concept has been around since at least the 1960's in the heavy construction machinery and old military gear transport tech areas. Its not new. Just repurposed old school basic sense with some 'shiney stuff' and a big modern price tag.
Donahue trailers has had a similar trailer for agriculture equipment since the 60's. It's also manually operated. www.donahuetrailers.com/implement-carriers
when the thieves push your raggedy car off of it and steal just the trailer.. smh
LOL! Now that's funny and I can see that happening!
Two words, hitch lock
Two words. Angle grinder
Two words: body armor
Two words.. that’s funny!
Such a cool idea. We move safes and having a trailer that is as low as the ground is so helpful.
This will be a hit in the trailer industry. Not just for cars but landscaping equipment etc
Thanks! Yes lots of potential applications :)
Oh and snowmobile etc lol
@@rsuccihky15 Yeah that's a good one as well. We've had everything from ice fishing houses to wheelchair accessible toilet trailers suggested. Interesting applications include for transporting hovercrafts and hot air balloon baskets, and as a platform for a tiny house. The options are endless
how do you not like this trailer
Brilliant !!! ill take 5
Thanks!
You sir, are a genius. And that looks like an excellent design.
This guy is going to make millions on his invention.
very cool keep improving, good engineering, maybe add a safety lock incase of bag failure, manually operated mechanism like on a sissor lift perhaps
It already has one case of bag failure. "One common question is "what fail-safes are in place to prevent the
trailer lowering while being towed?" (such as due to an air leak or
accidentally pressing the remote control), and to answer this, there are
a few measures in place to ensure safe towing. Firstly, we use the
highest quality components available throughout, to give the longest
life and highest reliability. Secondly, each of the four airbags are
plumbed individually, so if one was to deflate, the other three would
generally support the vehicle still until the trailer can be towed
somewhere to be fixed. Thirdly, we have mechanical "safety stops" on the
suspension (in front of the airbag in this photo) which prevent it from
fully lowering while towing. These can be simply flipped out of the way
before loading, so the trailer can lower right to the ground. If
there's anything you'd like to know about the trailers, please comment
here or drop us an email." facebook.com/AirbaggedTrailers/photos/a.154774581363541.1073741828.153700201470979/617854728388855/?type=3
It looks like the shock travel would be hindered by locking out all height adjustment. Still I'd like to be able to lock a minimum height with a pin.
if you lock it with a pin it will eliminate the suspension travel. You can't do that....
That's correct, the suspension can't be locked or you lose the great ride from the airbags and shocks. There's instead a minimum height stop, which is flipped out of the way when the trailer needs to be lowered, but in place when towing, for if there was ever to be a slow leak or accidental airing out (such as by someone pressing the remote while towing).
Airbagged Trailers a
What happens when you're going down the road at 140 kmph (~85 mph) and one of the front airbags fail? Are there safety pins that hold the trailer in a "haul" position to prevent the front corner of the trailer from just dropping into the ground?
Lol why would you be towing at 140km/h
Dude saw a need and made the solution. Good job bro.
Finally found this damn thing after 6 years
I don't even have a use for one of these tailors, but I want one.
Pretty straight forward, would love to put an ice fishing house on top of it.
NOW THAT'S THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD
Congrats Bro! Great idea and implementation!! Bring one to Dallas!! OR SEVERAL!
looks like it would be a lot easier when loading motorcycles too!
Yes definitely! We've done one so far with custom wheel chocks for motorcycles and are working on another one now. May also be adding a specific motorcycle version soon too. Please follow Airbagged Trailers on Facebook for updates.
Hate to see the price tag!! Nice though!!
Thanks! Pricing is available on our website for anyone interested. www.airbaggedtrailers.com
Start at 12 K....sky is the limit
@@BAZZAROU812, as someone who build custom stuff at times I can assure you that $12K trailer has at best $3 - $4k in materials and labor into its build.
Granted they are neat modern design (based on at least 1960's heavy construction equipment and old school military transport tech) but are grossly over priced for what you are getting.
@@tcmtech7515 looks like you just got yourself a business opportunity then.
He just changed the game with this one. 💯💯
This is just simply BRILLIANT.
And there is a Honda guy who has a car sooo damn low, it can't even drive up this ramp LMFAO
+Kleo 84 We've loaded some pretty crazy low cars! We like a challenge ;)
@001 002 I had a car like that in hawaii we have little round white lane markers that look like "manapua's" (Google it probably called something else where you are) so my car was the manapua killer lol
That reminds of the comedian that said Honda's aren't exotic sports cars LMFAO.
This design looks similar to GM's late 70's motorhome. Still a great modern-day solution though.
great idea introducing the $20.000 trailer !
Thanks! Although initially it wasn't actually anything near that expensive, our new model now starts at only $9,999 (USD), with details at www.airbaggedtrailers.com.
Your trailer design is fantastic!
so what happens when it gets a leak going down the road and wont stay infalted?
You fix it.

At first I thought this was a joke making fun of stance fanboys
simple design and concept! so simply brilliant

Outstanding! Even a formula 1 car could pull right onto this.
Are you looking for a re-seller in Australia on Commission only? I detect a Kiwi accent.!
Drop me an email George. I have some info on Australian sales. And yes that's correct, I'm a Kiwi.
How to get out of car when you can't open door?
Please check out our Facebook page for many examples of the doors opening over the fenders, as well as the doors opening when the trailer is lowered. This can also be seen in our other videos here on youtube.
stay in the car lol have a cold one incase you can't get out in 2 weeks ;)
sunroof, windows, throw a rock threw the window, or stay in the car.
Perfect for LOW RIDER 😎
This trailer was intended for people that have friends!
When I saw the thumbnail I was like who the hell would want a bagged trailer. Then I saw how practical it actually is.
love this. So awesome.
I want to build a *_TINY HOUSE_* on one of these!
Much nicer to live on the ground instead of on wheels. Make a trailer that transports tiny homes that you slide onto. Just make your tiny home on 2 x 8 pressure treated framing and drag it up onto this type of trailer.
Chris Cook Good idea. Thanks.
Anthony Rizzo I went on the website and the specs for the trailer indicated too small of a capacity. It will only carry 4,400 lbs. You will need a trailer that carries more like 10,000 lbs. They could engineer it. I think that it is the design the tiny house movement should move to. It is wasteful to build separate trailers each time. Just use rentable skid trailers. (This would be considered one).
Chris Cook I've seen a couple of
tiny house videos where the builders did put them on skids, as you said, and just moved them onto concrete foundations. The only draw back is if you want to move the house around frequently, then it's better to keep it on wheels and just use jacks when stationary.
Anthony Rizzo Agreed. Most of the time a tiny house should stay pretty permanent. If you want to move around a lot I recommend a travel trailer.
It is not needed to have it on a concrete slab. A concrete pier that is relatively flat and custom made for the homes would be really nice to live on.
He said racecars but we all know he meant ricecars
the struggle is real
Beautiful rx7 great idea! You guys should put these trailers thorough different climates and mileage. Want to see how the bag system acts up.
WOW, when i seen the small pic of it, i thought it was upside down at first, then air bags??? great idea, good job,,,
got one for heavy machines ?
Hi Bill, not right now but may add a higher capacity version if there's demand. Please check out our website for current specs and pricing, and drop me an email with what size/capacity you're after and I'll see what I can do. Nick.
www.airbaggedtrailers.com
with the design shown in the video you aren't going to come close to having heavy equipment on it. solid axles are a must
This is correct. Our design is optimized for maximum width, so lower capacity (much smaller/narrower) tires are used than would be needed. Even without thicker suspension arms, so much loading width would be lost just from this that a significantly higher capacity would not work for our main target market. There are companies making drop trailers for forklifts, but they won't fit cars on them.
Bill speedy response guys i like it! this is the perfect trailer for cars. only thing i can see as a major plus for a other concept would be an enclosed trailer. best of luck with y'all's buisness y'all are definitely doing the lowered car world major service!!!
Better off getting a lowboy
Nice idea but it looked like it needed stabilized shocks judging from the sway I saw.
+kmg501 Hi, this video shows the very first prototype trailer which was being towed by a car (not ideal, but is common in New Zealand) and is the reason it appears to sway briefly. It did trips up the country with no problems or sway issues at all though. Please see our other videos for the current USA production version, which is a completely upgraded design, runs four Bilstein shocks, and is the best towing trailer on the market. We've taken our demo model across America multiple times as well as it has been used regularly for almost two years now with no issues.
Airbagged Trailers Thanks for the reply, good to hear of the improvements.

Please sell these to towing companies in the US. Brilliant idea and beautifully executed! Cheers
great job! going to have to get this asap
ZOMG this is the best invention ever SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MON... Oh wait, I don't even have a car that needs towing. :(
116 Dislikers are butthurt static fans
With the irony being that static cars are what this trailer is best for haha
Maybe they're just not happy with the price when you can build one for $4,000 and he's charging 12 +.
@@ronaldledgerton878 You can't even buy half of our parts and raw materials for $4k, so your assumptions on that are very wrong. If it were true, we wouldn't be the ONLY company making trailers that do what ours can do, almost six years after we launched this video.
God bless you for inventing this
you placed the airbags just like the shocks on the Lamborghini...great job!
Wow this guy is amazing he is so smart but apparently doesn’t know how to tow a trailer safely,
- his car is towing way too much.
- and he is getting the death wobble with his trailer (which means it’s swaying back and fourth) obviously doesn’t know how to secure the load.
Thèses are the idiots who cause accidents every year. Like if you under stand.
Yes you are correct, it is not a suitable tow vehicle. It's a Mitsubishi Diamante and although the trailer in this video is fairly tiny and with a lightweight vehicle on it, is unfortunately may not rated for the load being towed. This was filmed in New Zealand where this is however common, as full size trucks basically don't exist (towing with cars is unfortunately not uncommon). It was also filmed before we were a business, as it was all that was available at the time to show the prototype. After coming to the USA and seeing how to tow with suitable sized trucks, we now know the error of our ways. Airbagged Trailers does not recommend towing cars with cars and people should always check their vehicles tow rating. The slight wobble at the end was because the shocks on the prototype were not good enough. We run Bilstein monotube shocks on all of our production trailers since 2013 and they tow incredibly smoothly and stable.
@@AirbaggedTrailers I admire your honesty; it isn't often somebody will come out and say yes, we made some mistakes. Well done.
That’s gangster bro!
Props from a Aussie Boilermaker
People asking "what if a bag blows" must not realize how many vehicles like cars, trucks, busses, semis, and trailers run air bags. It's a very reliable way if properly set up.
👍✌️
Hi, it jacks up to a a normal trailer height. The doors won't open fully once loaded, but any low car on a regular trailer will have this problem too. The options for loading it are to winch it on, or push it on (very easy due to the low incline even when attached to the tow ball, or even easier when flat on the ground) and have a second person pull the handbrake when in place. The third (and least desirable) option is to drive on and get out the window. Cheers for the questions.
Awsome 👍 Also great for out law hi way drags for quick race load and scat
Thanks, and yes there does need some development to bring the cost down, which will also come with manufacturing in volume. Part of the high cost is that the airbags etc are US-sourced, which bumps the price up in New Zealand. I expect the US-version to be cheaper. That's a good idea with the planks of wood, I might have to look into some mechanism or part to achieve the same result as that. Cheers. Nick
this is genius amazing idea I want one just for the suspension and on board air
Adapt to camp trailer, recreational vehicle and manufacturer homes and your sitting right on the platform of awesome.
Very, very VERY! COOL! Love it great job!
I could see multiple applications for this.. from cargo to loading with rock or dirt from barrow. No more ramps. Nice
That thing is sick man. Great design!
Thanks! Please see our other videos for the production version, which is even better.
Beautiful!
that is one badass invention love it
I built one like that many years ago for my late model. I bought a wrecked 4WD truck and cut the rear frame off and replaced it with an air bagged trailer frame like yours. Put some larger wheels on the front of the truck and it was a front wheel drive in the 4WD mode. When parked I put it into 2WD and used the rear drive shaft to power a compressor. Don't forget to mention that if you need to change a trailer tire, just put a block under the frame and hit the lowering valve and the trailer wheel will lift off the ground.
That's a neat idea with the wrecked truck! And yes that's definitely a plus being able to change tires by just airing out that airbag. We've found that a block isn't even needed under the frame, as the other airbag on the same side can just have a little more air added to it.
This looks amazing. Congratulations on all the hard work
Thanks!
Abselutely Brilliant!
Thank you very much.
Good Deal, thanks for the reply!
Now that's pretty damned slick!
Very smart design. Good song choice too
Thanks, yes that's the current conversion rate for the equivalent New Zealand price. The US price will be determined later this year, once manufacturing is set up. The parts, materials and labour costs will be different, which is why it isn't priced yet for US sales. Cheers
Just realized the fantastic stress between suspension and trailer bed. Would like to see that.
Simply amazing, genius idea,
Nice Design. These have been around for 100 years, mostly hydraulic or winch driven, but a few bagged versions. Usually heavier built, for moving safes, forklifts and man-lifts. Theres serveral MFGs on about every continent. But you get the win for the soundtrack.
Website gone. Great idea. Thinking enclosed trailer as toy hauler camper. Drop it to the ground both for easier loading of motorcycle and so there's no steps going in and out while parked.
pretty cool idea👍
wow where have i been.. most excellent ..
hope to see a enclosed trailer version of your airbagged trailer in the near future! All the best!
Thanks! We're working on one this year, so will be taking orders for those soon(ish).
I made an all aluminum airbagged trailer for a customer about 8 years ago. We also put a spare wheel carrier up front with a wind guard. The wind guard also doubled as storage and compressor cabinet. I used a slightly different design with my airbags mounted vertically but the control arm setup was pretty similar. The trailer also had a smooth bed with about 10 pocketed tie down locations as well as a winch. We did this incase he wrecked or wanted to tow a vehicle that won't move. The smooth bed allowed for the car to slide rather easily.
Another version that I have seen that didn't need airbags at all was to mount the axle on a carriage, and you could release the carriage and then back the truck up with the trailer wheels chocked. It let the trailer slide back and dropping the end to the ground and the wheels slid to the front of the trailer. It was pretty neat, but it was mega rattly when it was going down the road, which I am sure could be resolved with some thought.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Air suspension really is fantastic and we can't believe there isn't more people using it for car trailers, like it is for semi trailers, trains, buses, cars, suv's and other transport.
It really is. It truly makes loading up a vehicle a one man job and the convenience is unparallelled. Not to mention the load capacity can be greatly increased.
Hey you're building that sweet Mazda truck! That thing is gonna be awesome when youre done
Best idea ever.
