Just wanted to say I truly appreciate your videos. No one else on RUclips has been anywhere near as helpful for me as a beginner with camera and lighting gear. I realise I'm just a stranger on the old internet, but after losing my wife in 2018, I've really struggled to get my footing. I really mean this when I say: your channel, but I guess more specifically - you, has/have been an absolutely incredible resource and source of inspiration for me. You give clear and concise information in an easy to digest format. You could be the worst person in the world off camera for all I know (I highly bloody doubt it, though 😂), but your gentle, humorous approach is really greatly appreciated!!! I hope you keep going strong and I wish you all the success in the world!

Great review, as always. My wife and I travel full time with only carry-on luggage, so having a tiny key light to pair up with my Sony FX30 has been essential for our RUclips channel. The Zhiyun X100 has performed so well combined with their travel soft box. Both fit great in my Nomatic sling with the camera and other gear. I have a Anker 140 watt battery that I use to power the X100, which I found to be more versatile than the Zhiyun battery. Cheers!

One quick question, it might sound like a silly question, but...how far is the background wall from you/your table? And what is the distance from camera?
I am about 3 feet from the camera. The wall is about 5 feet from the table
I have two SL60W in my home studio, and mains cables running across the floor. These Zhiyun lights would make my life so much easier. They should offer a discounted three pack.

Nice! I just got an fx30 for a client work! Great cam. Id put dougy on the tripod permanently but that’s just me lol.
Not sold on the light though. That reflector that’s integrated in the bowens adapter makes me think that it’s gonna create a center spot in the softbox
it does have a bit of a hot spot, but used with a good softbox - looks great.
Besides the RGB, why would you pick this light over the x100 from Zhiyun? Both the X60 and X100 weigh almost the same, with the battery grip have the same foot print. Both pretty much cost same, atleast with the x100 you get the bowens adapter included in the combo. I'm just trying to figure out the value of this light.
I own two M60s. I prefer those to new ones. You mentioned the FX30 for studio. What are you going to do with ZV-E1?
I use the zv-e1 for my other studio angle, and for live streaming and anything outside. b-roll, 4K 120, vlogs, etc.
Excellent review :) The one thing I'm curious about is what SSI they give at tungsten and daylight. They don't list it anywhere I can find? I say that because the Aputure COB 60x-S uses dual-blue LEDs which gives an extremely high SSI value (closest to actual sunlight in that class of light) and phenomenal skin tones as a result. If Zhiyun has similar tech in it, they'd definitely have the better overall system design and feature wise.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis You're right! Somehow I missed his review initially. Sadly the daylight SSI is the standard 74 or so, whereas my Aputure hits 85 with its dual blue technology. I think if they add that tech in the Gen2 version of this light, along with magenta/green adjustment, it's be an instant buy. Thanks :)
I didn’t realize that Aputure 60x-S had such a great SSI. I knew the ifootage daylight SSI was around 84, but that’s great news about the 60x-S. That makes that light an even more compelling value.

Difficult to buy photo stuff from Amazon, B&H etc. Here in Philippines that RGB model would cost me about 550usd, even with free shipping. Puts it way out of the reasonable range for that light. I miss shopping in USA.

This is great light, but app yesterday stop working correctly, so I should play with this light only in manual mode.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Hi Mark, thank for responding me, I have already contacted the Zhiyun manufacturer's technical support, and they confirmed that this is a global issue which they are currently addressing. It is indeed disappointing, as such an expensive lamp has raw software with such peculiar problems- I have never encountered anything like this with other lamps, except maybe with a product from AliExpress. Nonetheless, I really like the design of this lamp, and the size is excellent. I just wish that the software would function properly.
This was checked three times on iOS and twice on Android; Zhiyun confirmed that they are working on a solution.
I will keep an eye out for the issue and see what zhiyun says!!

So, what were the "show stopper" reasons? Why can you NOT use this light?
I don’t see any situations where you can’t use this light - unless you need a huge amount of power that a 60watt can’t provide. the title is there are five reason this is a show stopper. you don’t need any other light for content creation on my opinion - hence the show stopper. 😄 I never said each indivisible reason was a show stopper. it’s all of them combined.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis My point was that the phrase "show stopper" usually means that something is not good enough to use. Perhaps you can find a more applicable phrase to use here.

Why do none of the sponsored videos go through the App control. The reviews on the Appstore say its a complete dog, does not work, connect.
I've done the Zhiyun app on other Zhiyun videos - it's just a time thing it wasn't included. App works great. Connects by bluetooth. If anyone has trouble connecting, they just have to reset the bluetooth connection which is available in the menu. BT Reset
