    Cloudvocal FlashTrack DSP Microphone
Today, I’m going to be reviewing the FastTrack DSP Microphone by Cloudvocal. Cloudvocal is a company based in Taiwan specializing in microphones, and live performance solutions. They are the sponsor for today’s video.
As a matter of fact I’m using the audio from this microphone while doing this video. Let me know in the comments what you think of the audio quality.
But first, we’re going to do an unboxing of the microphone. CloudVocal was kind enough to send the Flashtrack for me to test and review. Stick around to the end where you’ll hear a full blown test of the different functions.
Right off the bat, the microphone feels light and sturdy. Based on its initial looks, I was surprised by how light it was. The exterior of the mic feels like a brushed metal. You have four buttons, a volume button, an EQ button, and Reverb Button and a Comp button. The volume EQ and Reverb button are self explanatory, but the Comp button is something I haven’t seen in a mic in this price range.
So what comp mode does is change the quality of the sound based on your use, for instance later on in this video I’ll be using the recommended Dyna+ setting to use for my violin. There are also other settings like Sing+ if you’re going to use your voice with this mic.
While I’m recording, I’m only using the Flat EQ setting, and the Comp setting turned off to get the basic audio quality for you to judge for yourself.
There is a grip on the bottom of the mic in case you don’t purchase the the desk tripod as an add-on. We also have different functions on the back of the mic such as the aux jack, two usb-c ports which both have different purposes which I’ll also get to later in the video.
The mic comes with a usb 2.0 to usb-c chord, but if I were you I would upgrade and get the usb-c to usb-c chord. With all the latest android and iPhones using usb-c, it’s worth to have one single cable to connect to your laptop or smartphone.
The tripod feels quite heavy compared to the microphone. Which is a small plus because you don’t want to have a flimsy tripod to fall down when you’re in the middle of a recording. It’s very easy to assemble and attach it to your FlashTrack mic.
For those of you who are looking into using this mic for vocals, Cloudvocal offers a pop filter so that your lyrics are clear. It’s a great design and it works well with the microphone. It offers a band to make it easy for installing and disassembling the pop filter.
Let’s get into the settings of the microphone. This is one of the few microphones in this price range that offers customizable features. Truthfully, I don’t if this would pass for a recording studio mic, but these features gives you options when you’re traveling and want your social media posts to sound clearer than your smartphone mic.
The OLED screen is clear and bright, all the buttons work nicely and feel like they will last a long time.
Something you may not notice right away is that the flash track logo, is actually a button in an of itself and offers features as well.
What’s also unique about the microphone is that there is a color led light inside the microphone to tell whether or not your the mic is ready to record. There is a green color, a red color, and a blue/purple color. All of these colors mean different things so let’s break it down. The red color means that the microphone is receiving power, but it’s not going to send a signal to record your audio. Let's take a look at what the microphone sounds like with my violin.
What do you think of the mic?

Very informative. Nice features. I liked setting: EQ-Flat/Comp-Dyna+/Rev-Live. Demonstrating each setting with same piece for comparison was helpful. Have been experimenting with various mics while taking online traditional fiddle lessons. RUclips algorithm suggested this video. Thanks!

I was watching this at 2.5 x and when the rubber band fell on the desk I thought a cockroach zipped across LOL great work :) I have this mic and I absolutely love it - what do *you* think of the sound quality? ;)

I preferred the EQ flat, Comp dyna, and no reverb. All the reverb setting sounded like way too much. But maybe a custom reverb making it extremely minimal might be ok.
