I’m so excited for the projects you have planned, especially the Titanic coat and Rose’s boarding dress 🥰🤤😍. If I was going to make a dress from that movie it would be that one. I’m also really looking forward to the two other outfits for the Victorian festival. I just finished my first corset and only my third historical garment so far. I bought the 1880s corset kit and pattern from redthreaded. It was easy enough for a novice like me to figure out. Next on the agenda is a petticoat (I’ll reference a video of yours because I bought a sheet from the thrift store). Following this will be late Victorian chemise and drawers. Still trying to figure out what the skirt and shirtwaist will look like and will throw in a bustle pad or a lobster tail depending on which direction I take. I’m creating these clothes for historical dress purposes rather than a costuming angle so am looking at practicality rather than the lovely high fashion costumes you create. You’re such an inspiration and a wonderful educator. Thanks for all you do ❤.

As usual, this year's wish list is actually learning to use the sewing machine Mum gave me that is way more complicated than her one! I have made progress! I've found someone with experience teaching people to sew who said she would teach me on my machine if I bring it over to her house. Sadly, unexpected kidney surgery got in the way (my kidneys are attention ******) but once that's long gone I'll call her up and arrange an actual time to start. First project I want to do will be one of those aprons where the ties cross over the back ^.^

I love buying from small business fabric/sewing stores! Joann’s and I had a spat today… we live in rural Louisiana and I drove over an hour to our nearest Joann’s and for the first time I was told that they no longer price-match their own website’s prices😢 I just don’t feel it’s fair that I should have to pay 40%-60% more because I like to go and look at and pick out my items. Most of my fabric stash is from Nature’s Fabrics, but I got a lot of my sewing supplies from Joann’s and I’m too salty to order online, because we shouldn’t have to! Rant over 😅

Then I want to make myself a new Elizabethan shift, an Elizabethan shirt for my husband. I'd like to finish his double I started before the plague.

Currently mid strawberry regency dress project. With an adorable strawberry gingham print spencer which will be nice and fun coming into spring and hoping to wear in a few weeks when the cherry blossoms come out.
Up next is my bat regency dress because I found this stunning fabric and would be nice to have something for spooky season.
November-feb builds I've got Ai from oshi no ko, Elliot from stardew valley and Janet from the good place. Ai is a skirt, vest with a collar and puffy sleeves so not going to take me too long to make. Janet I just need to remake a vest as it was an abandoned 2020 project. Elliot is going to be a bigger build. But it's mainly pants, coat and a tie for him.
On top of making something for a friend for the holidays.

    G'day Rebecca,
I wonder, would a quilting style cotton fabric work for the blue doll's dress?, if so maybe somewhere like Jordan Fabrics in Grants Pass Oregon, might be worth a squizz? They often carry a range of americana and vintage-print style fabrics that Donna uses for some of her RUclips quilting tutorials, maybe there might be something in one of those ranges that could work, and they have online shopping...ijat...
Btw, I'm "as jealous as an outhouse rat with a gold tooth" over those gorgeous silks, and at a tenner a go, they're a steal... you lucky duck, getting to go to such an Aladdin's cave of foldy yumminess...🥴

I am a huge fan of your videos and your talent is amazing. I have a question for you regarding a project of mine I am obsessed with, I love to recreate iconic movie costumes and so far I have recreated Scarlett's Burgundy velvet dress, from GWTW. Judy Garlands blue tassel dress from Meet Me In St Louis, well a very close representation of it. But my next dream project is to recreate Mary Astor's White finale dress from Meet Me In St Louis. I know the dress is made of Silk Mull and the bunches of grapes are white bridal buttons in different sizes but I am wondering if you can tell me how the grape leaves and the vines were done. Would appreciate any ideas. Again, a huge, huge fan!

This might be too much sand for a nickle, but I thought it would not hurt to mention it. If you enlarge the motif from the American Girl fabric to the scale for a real girl, you can take it to an office supply store (I use a small independent one, so I can't vouch for the big box type) and order a rubber stamp of it. If I was doing the multicoloured motif you show, I would have one made for each colour. (Stamp the lightest color. Over stamp the other colours. Overstamp that with the darkest/outline colour. With my local store, they cannot/will not colour separate for me. I have to give over the design for each colour. These stamps are usually under $10 each. As I said, it might be way too much involvement when it is always possible that the right fabric will burst upon the scene at any moment. But, it is do-able. (I don't own a crikit or whatever machine, so this is just the way I have stamps made. Possibly someone with a 3-d printer could make it even more simply/cheaply.)
