- Back in January 2023, Terry and I were lucky enough to have Diana (aka. Binkxy) to take us around the LA Fabric District.
I. WAS. NOT. PREPARED.
I have been to a few fabric districts now, but this was the most chaotic to date. Thankfully, Diana was there to take us to the stores that we needed. Walk with purpose. Terry and I picked up what we needed for some cosplays that we plan for 2023 and a few extras we couldn't pass up.
Join us on our adventure to showcase our favourite spots AND show off the fabric and trim haul.

Thank you so much for emphasizing to be kind to the houseless. We could all end up in circumstances like that, and we need to try to cure this societal ill from the top down
Indeed xoxo
I feel overwhelmed just by watching the video 😅
Hahaha that was my intention
I've only vicariously visited the LA Fabric District through videos such as these. I could easily wander around forever down there drooling over all the cool stuff. Glad you had a guide and the items that you got are wonderful.
It was absolutely needed! I would have definitely been lost
I audibly gasped when you showed the rose trim in trim expo. My god. All the 90's shojo manga inspired dresses you could make with that
RIGHT?! It is GORGEOUS
Oh my gosh you as a Tinkerbell will be so great! Your personality fits so great!
Small and demanding attention? Yeh I can see that lol
SHINY! OMG I have no will power for shiny things. Hence my newest cosplay lol Thank you so much for taking me along :)
Hahaha I love it!
This is so very much fun. (Thank you to Diana for her words about the people clinging to the fringes. I hope you don't mind that I will memorize them so I will have a way to express what must be said to those who aren't used to dealing with this. I haven't found the words because I get choked up or angry or frustrated and can't express myself. You brought me to tears.)
I’m glad that we could help. Diana is one of the best people I know.
I love taking cosplay friends to the fabric district. Lady Fabric is a good place for really nice deals. There's a great parking lot by Michael Levine that's $7 for all day parking and the owner is really kind.
I think we parked quite close to Michael Levine ^_^ lady fabric you say? I don’t recall that one
@@KirileeCosplay it was on Maple and 9th up from Michael Levine. They had all the 1.99 signs hanging out front.
I am all about the "great prices but you have to dig" type of places. If only I had a fabric district near me.
Agreed
The Fabric district is just incredible! Mind blowing!
It really is!
I'm going for my 2nd time. This time I'm looking for upholstery fabrics. Hope i find something cheap.
Nice tour. Thanks
Have fun! And good luck!
This is the one thing I miss about living in Long Beach. I miss the fabric district so much.
I understand that- Perth has nothing like this
This was so fun to watch! Thanks for taking us along. I haven’t been to the la district yet but I’m determined to go this year. ❤
Have fun!
Philippe's is the original french dip in LA. It's by the train station and it AMAZING
I shall see if we can check it out next time we are in LA
I want to go there, but I would have to find a sitter first. Can't imagine trying to shop there and keep track of a child
I would agree that a sitter would be the best option!
@@KirileeCosplay she's going to be 10 and tall for age, but she doesn't understand that there are bad strangers out there.
I would be so lost there and in need of a guide.
I am so glad I had Diana
This video brings back memories. We've been twice now, loved both B. Black and Sons and Michael Levine. :)
The first time my husband and I went to the Fabric district, we got turned around and ended up walking directly down on Skid Row ON FOOT by accident. I'm quite used to homeless people (having encountered many of them in Edmonton, AB during my university days), but THAT was a whole other eye-opening experience. Made it back to the Fabric District safely, but wow. We were able to avoid Round 2 of that when we returned in 2021.
I’m glad you enjoyed the fabric district too :)
The niffler in me is SO 😊
Oh yes, very much
Okay, wait -- did you go to the LA fabric district, and not go to Home Fabrics, Luxury Fabrics, or Memo Fabrics? Or did you just not show us those three?
I think we did home fabrics and luxury fabrics - i simply wasn’t able to capture each store we went into. So I focused on the ones we spent the most amount of time in
@@KirileeCosplay those are always my go to shops for silk. Memo in particular has insanely good prices, though a smaller selection of taffeta (they're pretty good with dupioni though).
