That's a reflection of some really shitty coaching... I mean, this was some volunteer rec center kiddie league level of play from UConn to close out the game...
A well timed header and a little bit off the defender is such a crazy thing to say when we have a replay of it. A miss-timed header into an unfortunate own goal. You can be honest and its not mean.
That's my first takeaway as well -- that last angle showed that ball going way wide of the far post but for the own goal deflection off the U Conn defender.
casters curse so real, they said how standford only been shoutout twice then they scored one like 40seconds later in the video lol and ended up winning game
1st Goal.. Announcer - “Well timed header, a little off the defender”. Actually, it was a terribly timed header, completely off the defender for an own goal.
Lol how was there any question of offsides for the 2nd goal? There are three defenders closer to the net than any Stanford player before the ball hit the ground
Out of curiosity why did the Stanford player grab the ball after the first goal? Was this to prevent UConn from kicking off while they were celebrating or something?
A lot of players do that as part of their celebration, even in the professional leagues. Both teams have to be on their side of the field prior to kickoff, so UConn wouldn't be able to restart play while Stanford was celebrating.
Usually players pick up the ball when they just tied the game or are down a point after they score so they can quickly restart the game and hopefully score another
Advancing to the 3rd round of the NCAA Women's College Cup was Stanford University as the 3rd ranked Cardinal scored 2 goals in the final 5 minutes to escape the upset axe from the Huskies of Connecticut.
ESPN+ using potatoes to film these games... Also, who ever is producing the game and calling camera angles needs to be removed... I get that it's college... but this is an NCAA championship... cover the play on ball, holy hell!
soccer basics aren't hard, pro soccer etc. that's hard. as someone who plays, soccer js gets harder and harder every year, college and pro soccer is very hard to do/get in to and also hard to play and learn how to get better.
@@Laurenhsisbsndns the clip starts with a goalkick that is immediately turned over to Stanford and the next time the goalie has the ball she punts it directly to Stanford who apply pressure from out wide into the box and scores. This is championship D1 game!!! i was watching yelling out 'uconn is just giving this game away' ...i would daresay they were throwing it! check the betting stubs!!
This level of soccer can be a lot of fun if you are invested. But, if you look at the massive skill and performance differences between this and European pro soccer, you will think it is awful soccer. That is just the way it is.
THE FIRST GOAL BY STANFORD, WAS TERRIBLE, IT WAS A DEFLECTION, IT WAS HEADED NOT TOWARD GOAL BUT OFF A DEFENDER , SECOND GOAL A BIT BETTER , NOT A GREAT MATCH OVERALL , SOMETIMES THAT THE WAY IT GOES
Meanwhile in Europe teens are getting off school and signing pro contracts like $100k-700k year with pro clubs and still graduating from top world universities with a tuition lower than community college. For SOCCER the NCAA or College level is a disgrace, terrible coaches during decades because of their friendship level not capacity, half season without playing competitively, low periodization. They will graduate from Stanford, MSU, whatever, but they won't ever make $1 million per year in their jobs as the European players are starting to make. No wonder NWSL is a joke....
Why do you credit the first goal to #5? In men's football and in the RULES OF THE SPORT, it's an own goal. Why are coaches and subs allowed on the pitch during celebration? Why are there 2 captains? Why do you lower the standards for women?
Honestly impressive how UConn kept them scoreless for 85 minutes because I didn't see the ball leave Stanfords possession for more than 3 seconds.
I feel sorry for the coach. Uconn couldn't keep possession to save their lives
In this 8 minute video U Conn did not complete 2 passes in a row
That's a reflection of some really shitty coaching... I mean, this was some volunteer rec center kiddie league level of play from UConn to close out the game...
there was like 10 AWFUL passes out of the back... wtf?
This is what happen when you play turtle football
Stanford hardly completed a decent pass too... Like watching boys U13
Seemed like Ucon was waiting to lose. How did they have the lead with 5 minutes to go? Could not complete any passes, posses the ball, or kill time.
that is a crazy number of chances generated

Thta's what I'm saying, that woud not have gone in if the defender wasn't there
These descriptions probably account for like 50% of goals on a women’s pitch
crazy thing is that it was scored as a Stanford goal and not an own goal
"Well timed header" 😂😂😂 It was an own goal.
That's my first takeaway as well -- that last angle showed that ball going way wide of the far post but for the own goal deflection off the U Conn defender.
Unbelievable dominance. UConn defense really did well in light of the utter dominance.
uconn gk needs to learn how to time waste, kept rushing goal kick
And how to save
Keeper comes for the ball and has to get a hand on it. Poor goalkeeping.
On both goals. Second goal was parried right in front on goal.
She was wide open on the box she only had to come out cuz the defense sucked
Having a countdown is just wrong for the sport
It's a complete disrespect to the sport. It's backwards. Kind of like how the US plays relative to the rest of the world.
No, it was a HUGE improvement. Most people don't want the mystery to be the ref little private moment.
is this match fixing, uconn could not get possession for more than 2 passes int he final 5 minutes. jeez
Match fixing but their players looked sloppy... lol that's on them
casters curse so real, they said how standford only been shoutout twice then they scored one like 40seconds later in the video lol and ended up winning game
that uconn keeper has to be like '4'3 lol
At 0:38 why isn't the keeper just putting the ball down to invite attackers, so she can waste another 20 seconds.
Soccer isn't as advanced yet in the states. They'll start using these tactics in about 20 years
College soccer is a joke until they get rid of the dumb countdown clock
Why was the clock counting down?
What's w/ the video? It keeps bleeding all over the screen.

Well done ladies! 🌟
People trashing the goalie... Did you not see that save?
The UConn goalie looks like she's a honda odyssey way from being late for pickup.
Well ill never get that 8 minutes back
Wait a minute, I want to see how UConn got their goal in the first place. 🧐
Not sure about the scorekeeper, that was an own goal...
Number 7 on Stanford is a sports bettor 😅😅 she literally throws a temper tantrum after her teammate ties the game.
I came to comment about her. She’s terrible
I mean it was 4 minutes even. Crazy for Stanford, sad way to go out for UConn though. That being said, the better team won.
That first goal.... that header was terrible. She got bailed out by an own goal. Yikes.
Why does the UConn Keep rush the goal kicks like UConn is better?😅
I have two Huskies and this was so embarrassing to watch.
Re 1st goal: See it all the time in the men's pros too. Players failing to mark up in the final third / in the box.
Thumbnail looks like a jazzercise class
Stanford’s shots on goal: 90
😂
Why is it counting down? Do Americans really always have to be buttass backwards everything? 😂
Only for College
@elijahorama why is a thing even for college?

Sometimes you have to get score the ones that aren't stylish to put your team in the position to win

Why isn't the first goal included in the highlight video??? Annoying af
If you read the title of the video, you would know that this video is only covering the final five minutes of the game.
this is not a highlight video.
Perfect example of playing to lose.
Women’s “football” is so inferior to men’s it’s hard to watch.
