    Joy, I just love the way you teach. I love the way you repeat things and how you put such emphasis on specific things. Your name is so appropriate to your personality. You bring "Joy" to everyone. I have learned so much from your videos and I am not exaggerating. I pray that God blesses you and your family and brings you the desires of your heart. You are a breath of fresh air.

    You're a born teacher. It's especially helpful when you repeat key words - that helps us get important points into our heads! I learned about fifty things I never knew that are going to improve my sewing considerably. You are good!!! Very good!!! Thank you.

    Joy, I absolutely learned so much. I have been struggling for a year with trying to get a "boxy top" look and I think this answered everything for me. I literally stopped what I was doing, sat down and started furiously scribbling notes. I am not a newby but the changes in the body after 50 were throwing me an actual curve ;) hahahaha. Thank you. I believe I have this pattern and will give this new info a try. Really, thank you!

    In all my years of sewing (I'm 65) I've never seen curve seams clipped in this manner before! This two-part series was so much fun and I was thrilled it was with a pattern I already owned. I'm just sorry you had to endure your AC being on the blink, carpeted floors (hope your new hardwoods are installed soon), and not having this room set up as you want. But, that all being said, you made a great two-part series! 💗

    AWESOME!! I have enjoyed watching this tutorial sooooooooo much! Like I said before-you have a gift for teaching. I have learned so much from you. I saw your own comment about the swayback. You have made me see that the large upper buttocks area that I have is actually called a 'swayback.' It's not just a large butt. All of my tops hang off of my butt just like that. So now I will have to study more about how to adjust for a swayback. Please do a sew-along for adjusting wide hips in a simple dress or a top. Maybe you can grab a friend with a larger bottom and use her as your model. Many of us women need full butt adjustments.Nobody ever teaches that. I especially love it when you show a close-up as you sew.or when you bring the work close to the camera. Your sew-alongs are the best I have EVER seen. Please do more of them. I do love the stories of the "Runaway Tile Man." But you are too talented with teaching sewing to not keep doing Sew-alongs. You are multi-talented. So you can tell good stories as well as teach sewing. Many of us need the help with hip and butt adjustments. Thanks so much. I have enjoyed watching this Sew-Along so much today. You are awesome.

    The funniest thing happened to me today while listening to the latest sew along videos, Joy!! I listen to you while I’m sewing, and I happened to look up, and really looked at what you were sewing ... so familiar, I thought ... and I realized we were sewing the same top, only I was making New Look #6216 - the knit version (no FBA)! So happy you did this series for this pattern. I had bought the pattern on the recommendation of Stichy Bee, but worried about the bust issue so hadn't made it. I followed along with my fitting issues adjusting the pattern. My pattern looked like a hot mess after the FBA, but I've re-traced it and now so much looking forward to running it up. I'm going to adjust it for my sister with an FBA and high back adjustment too. I learnt a heap from you. Thanks Joy!

    I enjoyed this so much. I will be making this top for sure. We spend a lot of time down in Florida with family and these tops would be so cool & comfy. Just a reminder or if someone is new to your site if you don’t have a serger and for different reasons you don’t want to buy one you can get a presser foot called a side cutter. It will do a overcast stitch and cuts the excess material off at the same time. I love mine. I just switch the presser foot out and don’t even have to get up. I do either a regular zigzag or a zigzag with a double broken line on bottom of zigzag.

    • @victoriahannah1633
      @victoriahannah1633 4 года назад +3

      @Sew Many Things I love mine. I first bought one that had a white plastic around it from amazon and it was horrible. I returned it and tried again and bought the one for the brother sewing machine I believe called the SA177. It fits a lot of other sewing machines also. You can look up on amazon and it will say if it fits your machine. All you do is cut a small wedge of material at top little less than 1/4 inch wide and about 3/4 inch long and place it in the presser foot at the top of the wedge you cut out and it will start sewing and cut fabric when it gets to the bottom of the wedge you cut. If anyone does get one a word of advice always at beginning turn hand wheel to make sure needle will jump the little metal bar.

    Hi Joy, although I have many years experience sewing both by hand and on a converted treadle White machine of my grandmothers then on to a Singer touch n’ sew and now to a Brother machine. I feel it is my love of detail, self expression, and creativity and passion for this art that drives me to spend so much time with you and your journey. You are the kind of person I find interesting and inspiring. I can see it in all that you do and all that you create and your life long desire to learn, coupled with your sense of humor makes you an Exceptionally good instructor. It’s not the machine but the person you are that makes that machine sing. You make this fun while teaching us a skill the proper way. Thank you. Blessings. PAM
