Listen to that turbo fwoooosh. We tend to take paddle shifters for granted. Especially when you have to manually shift while maintaining all that thrust.
This is amazing footage. I noticed he's clutching on every upshift, though? Thought the 962 had a dog box H pattern without synchros, therefore no need to clutch after 1st gear.
Funny, first thing I noticed as well. I believe it does have straight cut gears in a 5 speed box (dog-leg first) BUT I'm guessin' he's being extra kind not really driving manuals on a regular basis.

The Porsche 956 and 962 have synchro H pattern box; in fact pretty much every Porsche racing car is synchromesh almost without exception.
