I’m very glad I found your channel and I really look forward what amazing things you will show us in the future! Best regards from Germany! You ever raced the track in Oschersleben by chance? It’s my „go to“ track being only an hour away where I drove quite a few laps with some cool cars.

Viewer can really sense that you are a true racing driver and you see the world of cars through that lense. This material is really fantastic and please don't "dumb down" your future content to gather more casual motorsport fans. As a person who is a lot into more in-depth side of motorsport/simracing I really appreciate the way you share your impressions here. Great camera work too. If you guys keep up with such a quality content you are soon gonna hit major major numbers in terms of channel subscriptions.
My first visit to a motor race, was at the 1000km of Silverstone in 1986, where I watched Derek Bell and Hans Joachim Stuck race their factory Rothmans Porsche 962C to second place behind the Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-6 of Derek Warwick and Eddie Cheever. Before that race, there was only Formula One in my life, after it, there was only Group C,The World Sportscar Championship, IMSA and WEC.
The CIBIÉ stickers that were inside the headlight housing are missing! This car had CIBIÉ headlights and so as to not offend BOSCH at the time as they were replacing their headlights they put the yellow CIBIÉ stickers flat on the black panel in front of the lights, so you could only see them from a vertical position. This 962 here has 4 x CIBIÉ headlights.

I still have the tickets and programme for the race, framed and hanging on the wall of the garage with my own treasured wheels. Thanks, Ben, for a great review. Your obvious enthusiasm is worth bottling. Please do more videos- single seaters across the F1 history perhaps, as there are few reviewers whom may have the skill to exploit such icons and these are surely as worthy of a real track test as opposed to modern tin, which I'm growing weary of seeing being thrashed for sake of a plethora of slick flash pasts and slo-mo shots overdubbed with rock'n'roll riffs. I played with the setup quite a bit and spent a lot of time and got within 2-3 secs away. Kimi must have a screw loose, top TT.

I had a 962 poster in my bedroom too, also in Rothmans livery. And then, in the 90s, it’s been replaced by a yellow Dauer 962 LM road car, to this day my fav 400+ kph car.

Porsche 956 and 962 dominated the Racing World until 1988! They won everything! Everything! 1989 came the mighty C9 Sauber Mercedes Benz Group C Monster and took over as a World Champion!
I still can't believe I got to see and listen to one with the updated front end at Dubai Autodrome back in December for the Gulf historic event. Truly a highlight of my life.
I'm always happy to see Drivemaster Collins, you know, all those years we all wanted the Stig to say something, to say a car is crap or awesome. We have our wish. You are an amazing man.
There is something so insanely special about the turbo induction noise of these old, and simply absurd engines! Music to the ears! Love it Ben. Car request: Audi 90 GTO 🙏🏻
Great video on probably my favourite race car ever. What a beautiful beast. Well worth searching out Derek Bell's in-car filming around several major tracks done in period (including Le Mans before the Mulsanne chicanes were put in and the Nordschleiffe).
Well I would agree with you and here in the states they had the dumbed down version of group C and that was GTP and my first job in racing was at electromotive eng. helping on the Nissan GTP CARS!

Around 30 or so years ago, my parents bought me a Le Man Scalextric set for Christmas which came with one of these, along with a Silk Cut liveried Jaguar XJR-9. I think that's what started my love affair with cars 🥰
This fantasic supercar could only be engineered by none other than PORSCHE. It's amazing how much horsepower it delivers out of a 2.6 Liter Boxer Flat Six. As I recall, didn't the 962 clock a topspeed of 262 MPG on the strait at Le Mans? I love that twin turb whistle! Truly, the 962 is an Eco Boost Marvel. It doesn't seem as scary as the legendary Gulf Porsch 917K.
Love those 962... got to see them at HSRV event in 2001 at Road Atlanta. Incredible. Would love to see you behind the wheel of a 917K or the monster 917/30.
In July of 1985 I spent a week in London and was walking past an office building and there was the LeMans winning 962, sitting in the lobby, on display. It was only protected by a velvet rope and the staff was very accommodating to this (at the time) young man. I do not remember if it was a Rothman's office, but that seems most likely. Of course I asked if I could sit in it. No luck, though.
I'm glad I found your channel, Stig. The last few absolutely epic videos I've watched led me to the Sotheby's website where I have spent the better part of my morning lamenting my decisions in life but have been thoroughly engrossed nonetheless. The sealed section is unspeakable. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the 962 that was (is?) owned by a Japanese collector? I've seen a 962 here in Japan some years ago now and could have sworn this was the same car but my memory is a bit hazy.
In 85 I was 10yrs. old, son of a car salesman, but when I saw this and see it now. It’s,”they done found a space ship and put wheels on it to pass it off as a car.” It really still looks unreal.
Nice one Ben, the love for that car really came through. I have seen that car at Goodwood and spent a long time with it taking in the curves and epic engines sound. True motorsport legend.
I was an IMSA fan back then and I always hated the Rothmans Porsche 962 because I loved the Group 44 Jaguar XJR-7 and it's v12 engines. Have you ever had the chance to drive one or one of my other favorites, their IMSA GTO Audi 200 Quattro?
Nice work, Ben and team! I'll continue to sing your channels praises when I see you colab with the likes of carwow, drivetribe, Broadbent etc. You deserve all the views!

This video is so good. It really puts a big smile on the face.
This car is seriously timeless. It’s so pretty and ruthless. Damn!
listen to those turbos
It is one of the most beautiful Porsches I have ever seen, I was at LeMans in 1986 when it was the winner.
I also had the poster!
Thanks so much for posting this! Everything I thought it would be.
Glad it lived up to expectations!
In 85 I was 10yrs. old, son of a car salesman, but when I saw this and see it now. It’s,”they done found a space ship and put wheels on it to pass it off as a car.”
It really still looks unreal.
Nice one Ben, the love for that car really came through. I have seen that car at Goodwood and spent a long time with it taking in the curves and epic engines sound. True motorsport legend.
Absolutely awesome....Ben is the new Alain DeCadanet....What a memory
Big shoes to fill
Awesome to see you drive an iconic piece of machinery Ben. Love this vid!
Glad you enjoyed it! Loads of fun making this video. What a beast!
Had the 24hr Le Man's scalextric in the late 80s/early 90s. In the box was the Porsche 962 (as per the vid), and a red Jaguar.😊
Amazing car Ben, thanks for sharing the experience!
Good to have you along for the ride!
Nice work, Ben and team! I'll continue to sing your channels praises when I see you colab with the likes of carwow, drivetribe, Broadbent etc. You deserve all the views!
Thanks Connor - check out @hardupgarage and @autoalexcars too for some other collaboration schnizzle

VinWiki was a lot of fun! Welcome along.
New video on Sunday.
Same…bedroom wall….remote control car too…childhood dream. Saw one in Auckland NZ on an open track day, some fast cars but this beast was monstering all of them!😅
Nothing stands a chance against the 962!
My word, you just know how special a car must be when you get goosebumps simply from watching a video like this.
Thanks so much for doing this video and giving us your feedback feelings and excitement they are truly special, tissues duly deployed ❤
I remember watching Al Holbert race one at Road Atlanta. Impressive car and driver.
As a kid I got the "Porsche Power" set from Scalextric for Christmas which had two Porsche 962's in. From then on I was a petrolhead.
