Just got mine today, excited to unbox! Had to find something to replace my Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus...which the manufacturers greenlit knowing the device cannot stay connected to WiFi after a software update. All my Samsung products (Buds, Note 4, A71, A13) in our family have been excellent so I'm confident this will be good too. I'm comfortable considering it a trusted brand, something I never say for a foreign brand unless it's Japanese. Edit: Bought it for $209 CDN (pre-tax) and it went on sale this week for $159 CDN (pre-tax) so I was able to return it unopened, buy again and save the difference!
@@ShaneSymonds hi I'm planning to buy this tab just to watch videos online especially RUclips. So what is the highest video resolution it can play? 1080p 60fps? 1440p?
This is the review I was waiting for! I was considering buying the tab a7 lite on Saturday but I thought I would wait for your review and now I can't wait for Saturday
I just ordered this tonight. I was gonna get the 32gb but decided for $10 more get the 64gb.. Plus I like that it's an Android 11. Camera I'm not concerned about my phone got a great camera. usually anytime buying a new phone or tablet go for bigger. My last tablet was 10 inch which was nice but heavy. I'm picking this up tomorrow. Hopefully my order will be ready lol.. I'm excited to try it out. I mainly use a tablet for light gaming. Social media. I take it when I travel so I can watch movies on the plane. My last tablet lasted 3 years still works just out dated. It's a Lenovo. I'm hoping this one last for few years too. Thanks for the video it helped me decide. I watched some other ones & they weren't too helpful.
Thanks, just ordered one to use as both a navigator and dashcam in my vehicle to replace my ageing Garmin unit. Will be using\ it with both Google maps and Here we Go when navigating offline. This is maximum size I can accommodate without obtruding on my forward vision or dash controls.
I use a Galaxy Tab A 8.1. I love the smaller size. It's easier to handle and easier to pack into my "smallish" messenger bag, when I use it working away from home. My only dislikes it with are the the occasional slow response time of the screen and I wish the speaker had a bit more volume. I also wish it had a fingerprint sensor on the back. Otherwise, it's a workhorse! I'm a remote contractor and use it often for work project when I'm working away from home, or need to just get away from my desk for a while and work somewhere more comfortable. It got the July 2021 update to Android 11 and I'm just way impressed! The Tab A7 would be an excellent upgrade but I'll wait until I've got a good bit more mileage out of my Tab A.
Just got it. I have had a day with it. I had a Galaxy Tab A 8.0 from 2015. Yes everything after that will be amazing. What I appreciate is the similar screen size and it isn't a speed demon. I bought this tablet for an on-the-go experience. I WISH I could put my sim card in it, but for what it does, it was more than worth the upgrade. If you want a simple tablet to do simple things and not take as long as your old tablet that did simple things. It is worth the upgrade.
I bought the Samsung GalaxyA7 Lite LTE. Being able to insert a sim card when there is no WiFi is a must for my use. I also use it when flying my drones, works like a charm.
Thanks for detailed and honest review, I wanted to buy my friend for study. I was confusing as its cheaper so it will work or not, but after watching your video, I am going to order it. I agree that it's name shouldn't be " Lite" it sounds like it's a basic version or not a complete device. It should be named A7 Mini (as you said) or we see in iPad series " Update after 1 month " I already bought, its working well. It will not disappoint you, but also don't expect alot. Its still basic but good for study purposes
Samsung should release a same size tablet with Sd750g and a 1080p oled display for a slightly higher price it would sell like crazy. Nice video as usual btw.
So far these review is legit. I seen a lot of youtubers who review this product & they just keep giving good review & tries to influence everyone to buy these product not mentioning the pros & cons of buying it. indeed I wont recommend these tablet on Gamers like me due to its delay.
Please does it lag on normal web browsing or watching RUclips or movies on the tab(not Netflix....(I don't care about Netflix or gaming on a tab)?🥺🥺😁😁😁
Same exact thing here. Smaller form factor tablets just don't have the market to justify higher end specs it seems. This A7 Lite is the first replacement that I'm even considering of getting, and even on this one I wouldn't really be getting that much more performance. Especially since the 64gb version with 4gb memory does not seem to be available here in Finland.
Nice review. I had won this on a raffle and was afraid it will be like the tablet that came with our landline phone, painfully slow. It's nice to see it's not that slow.
nice vid! i think that this tab is made for one reason only and that is to offer people who cant afford something higher. i love this move by samsung because it shows that they understand the market, this isnt a peformance based or actually anything based tablet, its just a tablet and one of the cheapest, nicely working ones you can get out there.
I wouldn't say one reason. I've consistently bought the 8" tablets because I prefer them. It's nice to have something I can hold in one hand or can easily touch every part of the screen without moving my hands much. In fact..my greatest concern about this one is if it's too big!😁
True brother.....as apple only focuses on cash....it's nice to see Samsung to in satisfaction and they understand that lot of ppl have less money so they make sick budget phones
Shane! I saw old school runescape on the tablet. How does it run ? And lagging and can you play it on unlimited fps in the new settings in osrs mobile client ?
@Shane Symons This is very informative and helpful. Thank you. One slight quibble: to me, there is a meaningful difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive." Cheap is shoddy and not having good value, but inexpensive carries a meaning of not costing a lot, and the purchase has good value for the money spent. From what you had to say, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite seems better described as inexpensive -- a very good thing. Of course, I'm an olde phart and tend to be peculiar .... uh, particular with words. 😄
Hey Shane nice video I do have the bigger boy the A7 I do agree with everything you said. But it's 720p not like the bigger boy 1080p but do you think it's worth 210 that's what Best Buy is selling it for and Canada computers is selling it for 227 what do you think. Great Job 👍 on the video.
2 things if I may that we're not covered in the review: 1. Can it be used for calls, like a phone, not just with speakers? 2. Is it possible to connect Samsung watch to it? Thanks
I wanted to get a tablet purely to use for afking Osrs on the coach/in bed, and then your review mentions Osrs! Wondering if you've actually played Osrs on this tablet and what your actual thoughts were for this specific app? Thank you in advance :)
i just bought it and waiting for it to be shipped. i’m not really confident with the purchase since it’s cheap so i was thinking it will look awful or will have poor reso but thanks to your review, looks like it will be okay. i’ll be using it just for social media anyway
I'm considering using it as a portable 2nd monitor for my laptop when I'm 'on the go' for Spotify, and Discord, responding to social media or emails, watching RUclips videos while working, or even gaming on my main laptop screen. I could cast it through Win+K but I'm worried about battery life so maybe I'll plug it in.
I am still using the Huawei MediaPad M5 8" and waiting for a tablet to come out and replace it. So far, there has literally been none. The A7 Lite is a great device but cannot replace it either. For that there would need to be a premium variant (a S7 Lite/Mini of sorts) with better specs.
Great review. How lame that Samsung saves their keyboard attachments and DeX interface for their absurdly expensive flagship android tablets. (Unless I am mistaken but I'm pretty sure that is still the case).
@@darkjord5823 I don't think the processor in this would be overwhelmed by DeX nowadays and not including at least the option to buy a keyboard case with trackpad are nothing but poopy corporate moves to give (some) people a reason to have to buy the rip-off flagship model.
This is still bigger than I would like for a tablet. I want one that I can use primarily as an e-reader device, but want more versatility than something like a Nook or Kindle. I also prefer the Android OS. Bezels on tablets are ridiculous, so it's good to see they are starting to trim them down.

That Looks Like A Solid Tablet On A Budget. I Love It. 😍
Agreed!
@@ShaneSymonds Yeah. 😎
budgetitzed budget tab lmaooo
@@ShaneSymonds hi I'm planning to buy this tab just to watch videos online especially RUclips. So what is the highest video resolution it can play? 1080p 60fps? 1440p?
Great video and commentary, and my ears really likes your voice. I decided to buy one. Thanks!
This is a nice, comprehensive review. I was confused about the A7 Lite vs. A7. Thanks for clearing that up & your overall perspective!
Just got this for my 6yr old daughter. Prob should have seen reviews prior. But this is a great review and I'm happy about the purchase.
This came into my recommendation, I love watching things I can't afford atm. so yeah earn a sub 😅
You can't even afford this???

Wanted a tablet for a while, you've convinced me. Just ordered one
This is the review I was waiting for! I was considering buying the tab a7 lite on Saturday but I thought I would wait for your review and now I can't wait for Saturday
Thanks for info man ! Thinking of buying it for Black friday 👌
Did you receive it?
What pen are you using? Looks nice.
Worth upgrading from galaxy tab a 8.0 2019 version? Is the screen resolution and battery life any better ?
I would like to replace my Samsung galaxy tab s2 8.0 inches but what is stopping me is the screen resolution which I believe it is too low
Add a speaker booster app💥
@@Mr.Freeze1982 I snagged me some earbuds, lol. Still, will add a sound boost app, too. Thx for the tip!
@@angeliaphillips cool, glad to help...lol I add the apps to my phone& tablets for extra boost..really loud also..
Hi. Can I use canva on this and ibis paint x? Also can I use stylus pens with this? Or any other type of pens for drawing etc? Thank you
Just got it.
Is it good for readers ?
@@nayushidooleea7518 It is
I just bought mine for my trip in a few weeks, it'll be super convenient for me! That and samsung is my go to company for stuff like this lol.
I bought the Samsung GalaxyA7 Lite LTE. Being able to insert a sim card when there is no WiFi is a must for my use. I also use it when flying my drones, works like a charm.
Saw that old school runescape app straight away, what a good man.
Thanks for detailed and honest review, I wanted to buy my friend for study. I was confusing as its cheaper so it will work or not, but after watching your video, I am going to order it.
I agree that it's name shouldn't be " Lite" it sounds like it's a basic version or not a complete device. It should be named A7 Mini (as you said) or we see in iPad series
" Update after 1 month "
I already bought, its working well. It will not disappoint you, but also don't expect alot. Its still basic but good for study purposes
I've no regrets on buying this tab.😊😊😊🤩
I have an older Samsung A 8.0 with s pen . It’s the perfect size . I really wish Samsung would release a higher spec version of this A7 .
Does this have a parental controls? Is it suitable for kids?
there's a special version of tab a7 lite for kids
Samsung should release a same size tablet with Sd750g and a 1080p oled display for a slightly higher price it would sell like crazy.
Nice video as usual btw.
That’s exactly how I’m feeling after reviewing this!
@@ShaneSymonds If you know someone at samsung give them this as feedback
I got this device and the a52 5g so this device is sort of my backup device for email/RUclips videos...
I agree with the mini name!!
Great job as always! 👍
Oooooooooh
Good to see you again
BTW there's a galaxy tab s7 fe
Any plans for that one?
Brilliant video. Does the tablet come with a stylus pen? Thanks
No
So far these review is legit. I seen a lot of youtubers who review this product & they just keep giving good review & tries to influence everyone to buy these product not mentioning the pros & cons of buying it. indeed I wont recommend these tablet on Gamers like me due to its delay.
Watching this using my galaxy tab A lite I bought yesterday, it's fun 😁
Please does it lag on normal web browsing or watching RUclips or movies on the tab(not Netflix....(I don't care about Netflix or gaming on a tab)?🥺🥺😁😁😁
No it doesn't. It works fine.
@@caruechii thanks for the reply 🙏🏽
how bright is the screen? I'm thinking of mounting it in my car, will it be visible with sunlight?
I don't care if it's good or bad I already got it and I am watching this on it
5 years and I'm still waiting for a worthy Successor for Tab S2 8.0...
I would have kept it if it hadn't died :(( now looking for a replacement but it's hard find
or the Huawei Media Pad M5 8.4". only downside of it is the version of Android it's stuck on. :/
Thx dude, I was looking for a tab and you helped me pick one
Nice review. I had won this on a raffle and was afraid it will be like the tablet that came with our landline phone, painfully slow. It's nice to see it's not that slow.
Good review. Thank you
I bought one today . Just now
nice vid! i think that this tab is made for one reason only and that is to offer people who cant afford something higher. i love this move by samsung because it shows that they understand the market, this isnt a peformance based or actually anything based tablet, its just a tablet and one of the cheapest, nicely working ones you can get out there.
I wouldn't say one reason. I've consistently bought the 8" tablets because I prefer them. It's nice to have something I can hold in one hand or can easily touch every part of the screen without moving my hands much.
In fact..my greatest concern about this one is if it's too big!😁
@@dansdinc true but i wouldn’t buy this one for its size even tho its quite comfortable as it lacks all features I'd need.
True brother.....as apple only focuses on cash....it's nice to see Samsung to in satisfaction and they understand that lot of ppl have less money so they make sick budget phones
the original is actually pretty ok for gaming, just minor lag from explosions. that is if you disable hardware overlays of course.
Or people who can afford, but don't see any reason to spend a lot on a samsung tablet, when there are cheaper alternatives
hii really appreciate your review! can we use SPen for this?
Shane! I saw old school runescape on the tablet. How does it run ? And lagging and can you play it on unlimited fps in the new settings in osrs mobile client ?
Yeah It ain't lag
409 fps average
I’m thinking about getting one for pokemmo since I can run it on my iPad lol
Bought the 64gb.. Very good deal, works great.
How's the display like is it good for media consumption?
@Shane Symons
This is very informative and helpful. Thank you.
One slight quibble: to me, there is a meaningful difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive."
Cheap is shoddy and not having good value, but inexpensive carries a meaning of not costing a lot, and the purchase has good value for the money spent.
From what you had to say, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite seems better described as inexpensive -- a very good thing.
Of course, I'm an olde phart and tend to be peculiar .... uh, particular with words. 😄
Udisc? Showing Jomez? Instant upvote my dude. Rock on.
Hey Shane nice video I do have the bigger boy the A7 I do agree with everything you said. But it's 720p not like the bigger boy 1080p but do you think it's worth 210 that's what Best Buy is selling it for and Canada computers is selling it for 227 what do you think. Great Job 👍 on the video.
what is the black marker your using? is that a pen for the tablet? can it work as a pen for a7 lite?
2 things if I may that we're not covered in the review: 1. Can it be used for calls, like a phone, not just with speakers? 2. Is it possible to connect Samsung watch to it? Thanks
حلو والله
This review is just superior. Nice content.
I wanted to get a tablet purely to use for afking Osrs on the coach/in bed, and then your review mentions Osrs! Wondering if you've actually played Osrs on this tablet and what your actual thoughts were for this specific app? Thank you in advance :)
Id suggest u go for Mi pad 5 rather this one.

Honestly i wish rs mobile came out during peak era when it was most popular.. LOL
@@GrilledChickenRamyun why is that? Im debating between them
i just bought it and waiting for it to be shipped. i’m not really confident with the purchase since it’s cheap so i was thinking it will look awful or will have poor reso but thanks to your review, looks like it will be okay. i’ll be using it just for social media anyway
How was it after 2 months?
Tab A7 Lite looks better than the Tab A7 because it has smaller bezels.
Yeah right and affordable price.
It only looks better, but trust me, the display quality is totally shit. The A7 is better.
65 year old grandma thanks you for you review. Looking forward to using my new tab!
Have you tried using an s pen for this? I want to know if it is compatible or not. Hoping for your response
It doesn't work, I tried two generations of s-pen.
Tab s7 FE
The whole point is a smaller tablet around 8" - the Tab S7 FE is huuuge...
I have tab a7 and it's really nice ♡ looks premium, it can be slow so if you hate that it's not for you, audio is superb!
Great review. How lame that Samsung saves their keyboard attachments and DeX interface for their absurdly expensive flagship android tablets. (Unless I am mistaken but I'm pretty sure that is still the case).
It isn't lame makes sense from a marketing point of view
I mean.. not very powerful devices like this arent really designed to work like a desktop. DeX doesnt really work in this sense.
@@darkjord5823 I don't think the processor in this would be overwhelmed by DeX nowadays and not including at least the option to buy a keyboard case with trackpad are nothing but poopy corporate moves to give (some) people a reason to have to buy the rip-off flagship model.
@@CaptainCaveman1170 bro, that's literally called life. It's the same thing when you go buy house, new car, vacation packages, etc
Good review of the Tab A7 Lite, just ordered mine on Verizon and picking up same day =)
This is still bigger than I would like for a tablet. I want one that I can use primarily as an e-reader device, but want more versatility than something like a Nook or Kindle. I also prefer the Android OS. Bezels on tablets are ridiculous, so it's good to see they are starting to trim them down.
If you go smaller than that you have... a phone!
I think you should go for tecno d tablet is so portable
Good review! Do you know if this A7 Lite is better than the Tab A 8.4" 2020 as far as speed?
