    You really are a good teacher. Not just in your presentation, but also in your thinking. The concepts and ideas that you explore (including the advice you offer) really are impressive. I don’t know if you have any training, but you seem to have teaching skills that don’t come naturally to everyone. So, yeah. I’m impressed.

      I have ADHD and I appreciate how clearly he emphasizes the point of his sentences. The clear and confident communication makes it so much easier to follow along and not get distracted. I have to educate clients as a part of my job and I have taken inspiration from his speaking style.

    “Go for it. You’re capable. We all believe in you” are words I definitely needed to hear not only in the context of this game so a very sincere thank you for this video ❤

    I'm only just getting started into 14 - still just a free trial player, just finished rhe Sylph's chunk of ARR's MSQ - and the videos I've watched so far from you have been insanely helpful (at least where it isn’t talking about super high tier stuff that goes over my head, lmao; but that comprehension is something to look forward to if I do stick it out). In the brief bit since I was pointed toward your channel, I've already noticed improvement. Not huge levels of change, but noticeable all the same.
    So, thank you for the pointers!

    Straight up, I think you make some of the best educational guides on RUclips for this game. The way you edit and explain in your videos make things so much clearer than most other guides are on this site. I think they fall into the trap of assuming that everyone already knows about what they're talking about, whereas you always assume a new subject should be explained for someone who has never heard it before.

      The short the other week about 3 tips to improve, more than one comment was like "lol obvious stuff."
      So yes, very much that.

    Your guides, especially the leveling guides, have really helped me getting better, so thank you for that. You explain things really well and manage to highlight all those little, but important, connections between things. Again, great work and thank you

    Great video, with good script and presentation. The only improvement I would suggest is to break down some example on video. At some point you put a short clip with text "there is so much wrong in this clip", but between reading the text and trying to listen to your words, I missed most of what was wrong.
    Other than that, top notch work, keep it up!

    • @WeskAlber
      @WeskAlber  Год назад

      That's what it was! Every time that clip comes up, what I say to do is what is NOT happening! Melee shouldn't run away? Melee runs away. Overlap AoEs? People try to not overlap. etc

    Amazing guide, however I do have a gripe with Stone Sky Sea. Stone Sky Sea being limited to 3 minutes means its super subjected to crit variance, a bad crit run can mean the difference between killing the dummy and leaving it with 2-3% left, naturally some jobs dont deal with this as hard but it means you dont get consistant results, especially if ur gear is min ilvl or bare minimum for the duty ur comparing to in SSS! Just something to keep in mind since it means to get a good idea you'd want to run SSS a few times, minimum across the actual duration of the fight, (normally 9-12 minutes)

    I'm just wrapping up Shadowbringers and starting Endwalker. Maybe it's just my imagination or getting a couple bad groups in a row here or there, but people feel a lot more impatient than they ever did before. The FFXIV is famously chill, but in higher level content it feels a bit more WOW-like, and not in a good way.
    Still, I might be calling this prematurely. I hope so.

    I'm so confused by this lol, maybe it's just how my brain works but, I feel like this is a natural process that'll happen from just playing the game more and trying harder content, not something that can really be explained in video form. I guess it makes sense a tutorial maker for the game would try their hand at this subject eventually, but like you were saying near the beginning of the video about how "vague definitions of wanting to improve" can lead to difficulty actually improving in any way, a vid like this just makes my brain kinda hurt with how vague and far-reaching it is in 'ways to improve' lol

    • @WeskAlber
      @WeskAlber  Год назад +2

      I mean, I'm not sure how it's vague at all. I give very specific things to focus on and try to improve at. Some are more abstract than others, but hardly vague.

    • @shaun4676
      @shaun4676 Год назад

      The game doesn't teach you how to improve besides being able to queue into an encounter and smash your face against it
      SOME skilled/gifted/experienced people are capable of making sense of everything based on past experiences or drawing contrasts to real life. Eg. Played other MMOs or worked in healthy team environments
      The reality is most people don't know how to get started or what they are missing or might not have had the "push" they needed to do what they actually want to do. Having a general idea for what to look for is amazing for someone who wants to go to the next level, and someone who truly wants to do that will make an effort to understand and try to execute on these things

  • @ProfessM

    Good advise minus using keyboard lol I kid. While I will always be a controller user and may sometimes forget this is a game also on pc, one of 14's greatest strengths is our wide rage of custom control options. To those on keyboard and mouse give controller a try just as you would legacy you can also use both movement style on controller. Hopefully you'll find how is best for you.
