I bought a 2011 Toyota Avalon back in January of 2020. Around 40 mph, the car would shutter. I knew right then and there, the fluid needed replacing. What I did was drain out as much dirty fluid as possible, pulled out the pan, cleaned the magnets, and replaced the filter. I used 4 quarts of that Valvoline ATF and not only the shuttering stopped, but it shifts much better! I recommend it!

First used this stuff on a 2003 Toyota Avalon that I bought used about 12 years ago. The Dex III that was in there was dark brown and smelled worse than old gear oil. I noticed the difference right away. Still have that car, 110,000+ miles later and no transmissions problems. I also use it on my wife's 2004 Avalon and my 2001 Silverado (I tow around 6000 lbs on my Silverado as well). I might also add that I drain and refill the tranny pans on my vehicles every year. Transmissions all shift butter-smooth. Good stuff!

i changed the fluid and went for a test drive. i noticed the shifts are way smoother now. and when im coming off the highway the car would jump when i took my foot off the gas pedal to down shift. but now that issue is gone now too.
its actually so smooth i cant even tell its shifting and downshifting now. but i know that it is but i have to really pay attention.
im very happy with this this will be my go to atf from now on.

I own a 2010 Kia Optima 4 cyl. My daughter used to drive it in a busy city. She returned it back to me at over 100k miles. I noticed that the transmission jerks or slips when it down shift from 2nd to 1st gear. The transmission oil was never changed. I purchased Valvoline TF and drained and replaced the fluid 3 times. It took over 3 gallons to change the fluid 3 times. We used to drive the car for few miles after each fluid change. I noticed a lot of steel particles attached to the drain plug magnet. After I drove it for few hundred miles, slipping disappeared and the car shifts like new.

The Valvoline Maxlife ATF is good and I use it in my Lexus ES and GX. One thing a Toyota tech will say is to never use it because the guide says to use only "WS". I think the techs are more afraid of losing their Toyota certification than anything else, that's why they say that. Valvoline works fine in Lexus/Toyotas.

Valvoline has changed the label on Maxlife ATF. It only lists Dextrose 2/3 and Jaso M315 compatibility now. Is the new bottle compatible with Toyota WS or FORD Mercon LV??? It does not list the compatibility anymore. I called to Valvoline; they said that it is continue to be compatible. Any ideas about why the have changed the label? Is it really continue to be compatible? Thanks.

I just bought some at Walmart and on the back it says it's compatible with Ford Mercon V, and LV.
But I noticed that the label had changed as well as I was looking online reading it's product label.
On his 5 quart bottle in the video it only says Ford Mercon LV on the back label. So I'm guessing that it's a new formulation and Valvoline added some vehicle models and maybe subtracted some.

As long as it is licensed by the FCA, it's just fine and this stuff is. I have to chuckle a little bit whenever I hear people say to only use Mopar or other OEM brands. Mopar doesn't make ATF at all and you could be getting any one or blends of 30 brands. Maybe they spill a little Lucas in it before they kick it out the door...

My wife loves her 1999 Lexus RX300 and now has 380k miles and I've been using MaxLife ATF since it meets Toyota Type T-IV JWS 3309 spec for eleven years now and still shifts perfect. So much debate on the forums about Toyota trans fluid or Mobil JWS 3309 only. The Toyota U140E and U140F 4 speed transmission in these older RX's were prone to earily failure as soon as 50k and I'm not saying the mineral based JWS 3309 fluid was the culprit to the failing point but this is one transmission that seems to benefit from frequent fluid refresh's and while Valvoline MaxLife ATF being a synthetic likley makes little difference so far all has been shifting fine.
