Made me cry to see such a horrific chase & uncalled for accident, and mostly this family having their lives put on the line! Then being treated like they're in the wrong! Such unprofessionalism, a huge disgrace yelling at the victim, & then threatening arrest to the husband whose trying to keep his kids warm & supportive to his wife. The cop who caused this should be fired!! I sincerely hope the family has recovered not just physically but emotionally.
This is so wrong on so many levels! These chases need to be called off. The common denominator is some innocent person or family is going to get injured or killed over a piece of human trash. It’s not worth innocent people getting hurt or killed. These cops need to be disciplined or fired for the way they were treating you’re family, especially that one that was mouthing off. I don’t blame you for being that upset. You had every right. I think the badge and the power goes straight to their heads and they get this idea that they can treat good hard working people like crap like we are criminals too. It was the NM State Police that pulled me over for a broken tail light late one night, that upon later inspection was working fine. All because they wanted flex their power over a teenager who was working late and driving home at 3am with college to get to in 6 hours time. They just wanted to pull me over and see if they could come up with something. They were disappointed that they couldn't charge me with anything so they gave a college kid a fix it ticket to justify their stop. They wouldn't let me check the light while they were there. When I got home the tail light was fine. I'm sorry they put you through something way worse and on camera no less. Their idiocy is inexcusable when they try and flex their power, intimidation, and they were clearly in the wrong. All they had to do was show some concern and say they made a mistake in the moment during a chase. That would require a level of integrity that I've not seen them demonstrate.
These police wonder why a Defund the police movement has happened. If they did you dirty like that I could imagine how they would have acted for anything less then this situation.
