A morning in the life of owning and using a CRF250L. This little bike really does it all.
Mods are EJK programmer, 13t, and airbox screen/snorkel removal. This bike was sold and replaced with a WR250R.

Awesome run ! I've had my CRF250L for nearly two years and I totally love it.
As you guys learn to stand (ideally all the time) you will at first feel awkward and then become must more confident riders. Good stuff on that CRF!
I got the Yamaha TW200 but the tires weren't wide enuff so i got some L-60's on it and the seat was too high so i chopped the suspension. i got to take off the kick stand too, saved weight and it stands up by itself. Saweeeeet ride!!
For the ones with no idea. This is not the full potential of the bike. Sure it can do much more. Secondly on offroad I prefer to remove the side mirrors. Especially if you are riding near home or have somewhere to drop them like a friends car.
Man I cant wait to get this bike when I come back from deployment!!!! Was set on a wr250 but man honda has been on top of the game with everything offroad the past year or two. Was a yamaha guy but now I'm converting lol
Great riding! You took the crf250L to its limit I would say!
great video man. was watching some reviews on the 250l and this made me really wanna buy it. i hope you'll upload vids of any mods you will make. body mods, exhaust, knobby tires, etc.. keep ridin friend
Nice Video!! Some gnarly rocks there for a bit, thanks for the upload!!
That was great! Nice to see what my CRF can do, Thanks!
Awesome video, I could ride those trails forever
Awesome video man, looks like fun
great riding thats a tough trail glad i saw this rock on 250l
I love my CRF250L, I upgraded from an XL350. Its a very agile comfortable bike. The electric start and fuel injection is a sweet touch. I highly recommend this motorcycle I also own a GSX1300R Suzuki Hayabusa and a GL1800 Gold wing.
Awesome! I went there on my 16th birthday, the day I got my foreman 450. now i want a crf250L.
Great riding and great video - cheers.
nice looking country. i would like a mix of that and my area. great video.
great video. that steep hill climb around 9 minutes in had me nervous just watching you.
Little tip. It sucks when you ride to the trails, but let out some air pressure on the front and rear tire and they will roll over the rocks, not bounce off of them. I learned that lesson the hard way trying to ride my DR350 on some rough rocky stuff.
Great video, Contour cam? You did really awesome past those quads in the rocks for being on a 250L. On those huge 2' step ups, just keep your weight centered and ride the heck out of the clutch at a slower pace.
nice video, really gives me an idea of what dual sporting all about.
nice job. tough stuff for on off
Windrock is a awesome place. I completed trail 22 on my 2016 250l. Wasn’t exactly easy but I got it done. A 230f for me would have been perfect , but the 250l is what I got , goes on the highway cruising at 60 and can take a lot of hardcore trails. I like it, not perfect, it is what it is. People laughing at me at windrock in there brand new $20k sxs but I was going through mud holes that they wouldn’t go through. I was the laughing at the end of the day ✌🏻
I used to have a CT90. It made that sort of terrain look easy. I am thinking about a CFR-250L. Too bad it doesn't have a high low box like the old CT trail bike. I guess it would just be too expensive. LOL. It sure does make a difference though. The nice thing about the 250 is that 5 bucks gets you an entire day of freedom and fun. Can't have that in a Jeep.
I appreciate the advice buddy! Thanks alot kevan
I would suggest putting some hand guards to protect your clutch and brake levers for when you spill. Tough getting out of rough terrain without a clutch lever. Looks fun. Lots of fun.
I only live a couple hrs from there. I'll definitely have to come check this place out.
damn those trails look awesome...wish we had a place like that where i live..
Sweet! That sounds awesome!
Nice stuff man, wish we had these mountains here in the holy land LOL!
Q: I didn't notice a skid plate on your bike. If you haven't got one - get and install, you really don't want to break something crucial inthe middle of a ride. Get hand guards while at it...
great vid thanxz will get me by all the winter ahead of me thanxz
I hope you checked you're tires after the rocks I have had cuts from rocks, just a good idea to look them over before the ride home.
Looks like a kick ass trail to ride!!!
Nice ride!
Great video, makes me wish there wasn't 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground right now.
Nice run.
I bigtime second the skidplate before your first ride. I bent my frame pretty good first day out.
I like the purr of the motor.
it honestly sounds electric.
Yeah the 250L's have a nice low rpm low pitch sound that is nice. I feel like the FMF pipe with the silencer in it makes it sound the best from what ive heard on youtube.
Andy B purrs like a kitten
Great video!! Picking mine up tomorrow.. this video makes me wanna ride so bad : p
i enjoyed the vid thanxz
very nice bike and very nice jeep that is perfect
Thanks Great vid!
how many mpg's are you getting
looks like a good time. How much did that bike set you back?
great video.
what state is this in?
Looks like a really trustworhy bike. Don't know why it just looks so reliable and useful.
It is
Its a Honda. Period.
Watch Itchy Boots Season 5. That little Honda covered 20 000 kms mostly off-road around southern Africa. It's a great dual sport bike.
@@markleighton9628 wrote that comment 3 years ago. I bought the CRF250 Rally. Amazing bike.
...and props to the 4x4 support vehicle driver!
Nice I have the same bike and I live in Greeneville TN how do you like it so far?
looks fun as hell
Go for: Techniques of enduro bikes and then hit it again. Nice Area you got there. Wish I had something like this in front of my door.
same motor as the cbr 250
Cool Trails! I also wish for an additional 10 HP for my WR250R as well. :^)
How's the power?
And is this a bike you plan on keeping for a while or is it just something for now?
Is the teller in kmph or mph, I assume miles?
What kind of tyres are you running? Are you on the stock nubs or do you have eduro tyres?
Nice video got same bike love it
good job man. what are the other 2 bikes?
Great vid
thanks for the video
Nice video and cool trails. The sound of your keys banging on your triple clamp the whole time made me weep for it though. Ditch the other keys before you scratch your bike to shit.
How is it on hills on roads no problem? I weight 245lb. You think it shouldn't be a problem for me? Meaning power? I'm not really looking for highway use just local riding/country roads stuff.
Dam that last bit looked hard.
Nice clip ! Wish i had the same opportunities here in germany - wish i could live in the USA for a few years ;-)
+lauiman They do not have trails like that in Germany? :O
Or you cannot get a license to ride one of these are your age?
that jeep is pretty damn tough too holy
May i ask how old you are? cause those trails would be ruff for a 55 year old man
You just need alittle more speed when you hit those rocks to make it up. I geared my CRF250L down a bit which made it more torquey and very nice in dirtbike mode! :)
Sound perfect! I did 13/42.. perfect for off road
love mine great bike
Excellent Bike
I love that place!
did you have any mods in your bike?
I have been riding since i was ten that trail is not rough
So what. Do you want a medal for riding since you was ten?
how it is riding on the road? vibrate a lot? nice video :)
is that in mph or kh
The rough areas is why I sold my dirt bike and got an ATV. Think I'm too old now for a nice dirt bike.
That jeep will climb better if you air down. Great vid!
4:24 nearly mashed up, luck or good riding...haha
Nice video,
that white jeep, I'd call it "the crawler" ;) slow and steady
Looked like some tuff terrain I would have crashed quite a few times myself
Are you at windrock, TN????
great trail awesome ride
es muy bueno, felicidades, y gracias por compartirlo, mi moto es 2004, y tambien me lleva a las montañas y me paseo en la ciudad o carretera, tambien me he caido muchas veces jajajaja, saludos
Loved the video! I'm currently riding a CBF250 which I took to the woods a couple of times (Yeah I know it's not built for it but it's the only thing I've got) and am thinking about upgrading to a CRF250L for the off-road factor...how good is it as an everyday commuter? I can deal with 110-115 KPH (about 70MPH), don't need that much more...will it manage?
it is good for around 65 cruising, it can do 70 but nearly maxing out
mitchell mcpherson km/h or mph?
@@dion8976 mph
I've got one.
you should go for ride in third world roads for true ride.. honda xl was all I saw in my childhood as most praised.. this reminds me of my village ..
This place is like Disneyland for trail riders!! I envy all of you!
Is that Tennessee?
Good video!
I just wish I had a place like that to ride near wear I live at (New York City).
:(
The bike will bring U home
Just curious, you say in one of the early comments that you aren't very tall. Could you flat foot this bike with a 30" inseam?
Thx for the info and the quick response.
how do you weight? did the crf struggled when it was standard with you weight. and does the suspension is so bad?
Thanks for the reply, another question if you dont mind, did you find the weight of the bike really a struggle? I'm a bit worried, I made a deposit for the bike, I weight about 90kg and I hope the crf will suite me well, i'm no expert off roader, I need something better to go over our shitty roads in my country and maybe some light green laning roads.
so do you still like this bike. i am buying another this week and looked at this.. im close to wind rock and wanted something lightweight to get rowdy on
jamie cooley if your still in the market I’d look at a 230L or 230F for light weight. Depending on your height (if your shorter) those two would be the better choice. I’m 5”8 175lbs the crf250l can be a little y’all and heavy at times but I can manage
This makes me want a 250L so bad
Nice XJ.
So on this video, whats are the mods? Or is it completely stock ?
+Navek Media That's even more surprising. I had thought you modded this one just a little, at the least, like upgraded tires or something?
Stock and doing that terrain is impressive!
Why replace it with a WR250R
The CRF250L has longer maintenance interval and is more stable I think ?
@@kevanray How do you like the Rally compared to the 'regular' 250L and the WR250? I'm looking at a Rally but haven't ridden it yet. Sold my F650 Dakar a few years back and want another D/Sport. Something for some longer-day trips that is light enough to ride stuff like you were on in this video, probably nothing more than that. Had the Dakar in a couple of spots rougher than that, but it was really pushing it for me at 5'9" and 180 lbs.
I've had my CRF250L for almost 2 months now, great bike, a little underwhelmed ( well, it is a 250...) personally, I actually should've have gotten the CRF450 instead.
BIG ROCKS !!
that is so weird to me that you have to buy a trail pass. southern idaho trails are everywhere and there is no fee unless you camp in made campgrounds.
Once you think you are done! Excellent video, thanks for sharing. In the market for a dual sport myself. They are all nice but honda is honda, hard to beat. Looks like it preformed just like it should. Driver....not so much!
Nice! Basic breathing, jet kit, remove smog type adjustments? Rode a drz 400 (2012) stock and it was sluggish. Really liked the size though.
Excellent! Thanks for the info!
Great vid and I was surprised the Honda could actually do such gnarly terrain, Why the WR? is it not just Yamaha's version of the same dual sport bike? or is it bit more of a proper enduro bike than the CRF250L? I noticed its quite a bit lighter than the Honda
+Navek Media if fuel pump or stator will not fail...
+Paul Thomas I saved $2000 going with the CRF over the WR. After mods (Renthal sprocket change front & back, FMF megabomb & Q4 + air box mods I can keep up with the WR just fine) and still had $1000 in my pocket for new Michelins this summer and lots of change left over. Oh also put on the mini Yoshimiro tailight assembly, got rid of that huge heavy stock Honda equipment. Exhaust & tailight took about 10lbs off weight
+SpaceAceTX exactly right - WR250R also require suspension upgrade so it will be even more expensive.
When you put race tech suspension on crf250l it will be way better then wr250r stock. Besides yamaha reliability recently has dropped.
+Enduro Riders SPOT ON, good post !
+Enduro Riders there are several people with well over 75k miles on stock untouched wr250r's. These bikes are as reliable as they come and far superior to the crf250l. Crf isn't a bad bike but the wr beats it in every way, and the price reflects that.
that clap a 3:36
I know right. That was hilarious!
Honda Crf hahahaah
