Most riders who want 1000cc adventure bikes are fat dudes. But they are just making it worse: almost 500 kg on mud or sand?! Getting stuck 90 % of the trip
I took the crf250L on the trans America trail last year and made it from NY to Arkansas. Gonna finish it up next year on this awesome little bike. Love it. This bike rocks
I purchased my Honda CRF 250L as my first bike since 1972. I am 62 now, and have found new but different joy in riding. I ride the backroads of Sonoma County, CA and love every moment of it. Great beginning bike for someone who hasnt ridden in so long.
ive had 4 bikes in my life 2 Yamahas, a 360 and 400 single 2 stroke thumpers amazing bikes, then two 4stroke Kawasaki dirt bikes, a 250KLX then a 450 off road but now im looking into this my first Honda. love this video thanku good luck on your travels u are a lovely lady.
Just bought a used CRF250L with 3,700 miles & lot of upgrades. Just got my permit & insurance. Can't wait to ride with my buddy this weekend. Aloha from Hawaii!
Respect , go for it ! Yes so true , a light bike like you have is the way to go . You can pick it up and go many places where the big heavy bikes can not . Be safe ok and enjoy the trip .
Awesome! Your adventure reminds me of Lois Pryce and her adventure on her 225cc bike. I think a smaller bike makes a great deal of sense as long as you are not in a great hurry. Best of luck.
You are absolutely right on the smells you can pick up you would have missed in a car. When a friend and I crossed from the U. S. to British Columbia, as soon as we crossed the border the scent of millions of fir trees was noticeable. It smelled like Christmas instantly. I would have missed that in a car, and the experience would have been much different.
I've been searching my Whole life For a woman like you Women like you are very rare you should feel very proud The your ventures be for feeling good luck on your quest
Great adventure! All the best to you! And I agree with regards to choice of the bike. Small, light, nimble and very user friendly machine. Not the usual 1000cc+ heavy locomotive that lumbers around like a diesel tractor.
A great video. And a great adventure. If you ever need free lodging in western Canada, I have had numerous Adventure bikes and I have been riding for 41 years. 😀
I have just bought a crf250l and am prepping it for fun but i wondered what she does for fuel on longer distances or where she dosnt know where the pumps are ..as your looking at only 100miles max on a tank?
Yup, that's a good adventure bike choice. Low weight, long range, reliable, simple and one thing people don't pay attention to is cheap tires... I now use a KTM 500 for the same type of riding and gave up my perfectly set up 990 for it...
Lol, I've ridden a dirt bike once I was 4 years old. the best crash of my life. I was completely fine but messed up my body armor when I was going 70 per hour. Today I'm still riding bikes mostly the 250L and the 250L Rally with the yz250 Yamaha. when people crash you either learn from it or give up. trust me once you are good at dirt biking or motorcycling you won't crash I've never crashed my bikes for 8 years. I hope all motorcycle riders have a good day.
I want to do a journey like her!!!! CRF250 is light weight and tough. Especially, a weight is important for me. When I have a journey with motorcycle, I will ride Honda CRF250L or M!!!!
I used to rent this bike in Thailand, it's pretty cheap over there, around 20$ a day. She's right, it's a great dual sport, you can go off road without a problem. The only issue for me was horse power. It's really, really weak, you push the throttle and it has little power. It's a pity that Honda doesn't produce a 450 cc bike of the same kind. The 450 CFR (no "L") is a dirt bike, and it can't be used on the streets for long distances.
FERNANDO her bike is a dual sport, the CB 500 X is a great bike, but maybe 80/20, I don't think you can do much off road with it. For her trip I would have probability gotten a 1190 KTM. If you stay away from Asia or Maybe Africa you're fine, but in certain SE Asian countries roads are really bad, and you need a dual sport.
I hardly ever met anyone, who picked her bike so wisely. God luck, Steph. I ride a KLX250 all around Europe and I know, that the Honda will be a good and reliable ride for you. Have fun! PS: That's an interesting rack up there in the front of the bike. What is it...?
You going to be anywhere around Southern Utah if you go through the US? I would love to ride a few miles with you. I so admire what you are doing. Truly epic! Best of luck to you. Is that helmet in the video the Nolan X-lite? Take care of yourself.
hii stepth i really want to do what you do. but i have got some question and need some tips from you, i hope you could help me out. the 1st one will be could i get a sponsorship from the motor company like honda, 2.how could you cross border with the bike and what paper work you need for the bike to get it cross. 3 the budget that you spent each day on fuel and food. thank you steph, btw i will be start my journey from indonesia and i want to go all the way to turkey
😻😿 I share her passion and reasoning for choosing tbid bike. So capable. So underrated. Does anyone make hard shell panniers for this ? (PS: Shame you had to skip Pakistan then 😿, maybe next time)
I get crap from seasoned riders over my 250L Rally. They seem to think ya need a BMW 1200. This is more proof. At 65 it's easy to handle. It's easy to lower if ya want. Parts are everywhere. Love mine.
Amazing! I wish well on your many journeys. Could you please tell me though, where can I get one of those windshield? That is a totally awesome design. P.S., if you pass through Tyler,TX we’ll put you up.
I can understand not wanting to ride a 1000cc round the world but I would think a 450 would be better than the 250...not much of a weight difference and I am sure the extra power would be appreciated at moments....Good luck on your journey!
@@tolga1cool DRZ or the Honda XR650R are the best bikes I can think of. However, I would really prefer fuel injection and e start. For Central, South America, and most of Asia, I honestly think the 250 is fine, but for the North America, Europe, and Australia I'd rather have a 450-650.
@@oscarleon3008 Yeah they are good but only sold in the states and not in Europe. Also by saying 450cc I was mentioning enduro or MX bikes. Which most definitely would be fit for long trips and continuous high speeds
Been telling my friends this for years you just dnt need 1000cc well done you 👍

Makes me think about my life.
Wow, all I can say is "How I admire you!" I would love to tour around the world on a motorcycle but you are in a league of your own!!!! Awesome!
***** Touring the world by motorcycle is definitely a life lasting experience.
+HondaVideo and i would love to do it with my CRF250L - unfortunatly money would be a big constraint for me ):
I took the crf250L on the trans America trail last year and made it from NY to Arkansas. Gonna finish it up next year on this awesome little bike. Love it. This bike rocks
I've had my CRF250L since 2013. Great little bike. It's the perfect choice for your adventure, and for all the reasons you described.
So fantastic Steph - I am watching this knowing that you are days away from London and your victorious return!! You will go down in History.
I purchased my Honda CRF 250L as my first bike since 1972. I am 62 now, and have found new but different joy in riding. I ride the backroads of Sonoma County, CA and love every moment of it. Great beginning bike for someone who hasnt ridden in so long.

Can’t believe you’d take such a low power Bike, I own the 250L and it would struggle on the 120kmh an hour hwys out here.
This bike is tall , what's her height?
where do people get the money to do this?
It's not as costly as you'd think. The most expensive part is getting the bike and proper equipment.
Good for you.
Are you skipping Alaska? Don't, it's amazing.
