- Today I'm restoring an old and very rusty antique cherry pitter from 1863!
I bought this cherry pitter from a local market and immediately liked the simple design.
I started by sandblasting it to remove the rust, then powder coating to bring back to life.
I hope you like my work and video.
Apologies for not showing a working demonstration at the end of the video but once I had finished the restoration I couldn’t find any fresh cherries locally.
Gone are the days of having anything you wanted all year round.
Lesson learnt.

Unfortunately when I finished the restoration, the season for cherries had ended in the UK and I wasn’t able to find any locally - 4 different supermarkets and none had any.

@@jimmyrizzorestorations I can't believe I'm saying this, but I guess it proves I'm a restoration fan: can you make a video when you get seasonal cherries, and show the restored unit working? I DEFINITELY will watch! Would love to see this beauty in action. Extra credit: restore and ice cream maker, and make cherry ice cream!
