Hey guys, I wanted to say thank you for all of your support! That gives me a lot of energy and motivation! If theres anything you got for me (critic, hints and tips, lovely words, tools to restore or just a nice comment) feel free to leave it in the comment section or contact me by email! PS: The white color in the video is a fruit acid resistant color! Its used by wine farmers and other companies which deal with fruit acids! I know a tin plating would have been the better way to plate it, but i didnt have the possibilities to do that.
Hey man! Greetings from Arizona, US. Been craving someone who has the videography skills you do for restoration vids. Your work is a breath of fresh air sir! Would you be willing to share info about your filming equipment/ strategy?? Let me know Ill find your email and contact you there PS: I noticed the white coat sealed some of the screen holes. Not sure you'd ever really use it to juice but thought it might be worth pointing out. Keep going man Ill watch every video!
I think you must do a follow up video with you making fruit juice. I'm not sure I will drink it though, maybe if it was nickel plated I'm happy to drink with you.
Electrolysis plating can be done at home but it is definitely something you would want to practice on some scraps before using for a real project. I also think cast is more difficult than regular steel. The plating fluids may be expensive, not sure how expensive. It's something I definitely want to try someday though.
Thanks for saving me 15 mins lol . Love watching these but if it isn’t used its like watching a sporting event that just ends at halftime, no winner lol
Where👏Is👏The👏Demo👏 I love restoration videos, but it really makes it feel all-for-nothing if there's no demonstration. It's a good feeling to see an item restored & tested to see these machines in their prime
Great restoration: very nice indeed. But wouldn't it have made more sense not to paint those internal parts that actually come into contact with the fruit, and nickel plate them instead?
Hey 06802300! Sorry for late response! The color i used in the video was a fruit acid resistant color. The best way of plating would have been a tin plating, but i wasnt able to do that...i thought about nickel, but wasnt really sure of food compatibility.
Was going to say the same thing, wonder if an improvement would have been to make it from stainless steel or aluminum but I know nothing about making stuff like this. :)
@@penonton4260 Well yes but actually no. Stainless steel must contain over 11% of chromium. Nickel is used in austenitic or duplex stainless steel but ferritic oraz martensitic usually don't have any Nickel (some mertensitic can have 2-4%).
Hi Mister Patina, GREAT WORK in general. I have 2 recommendations : 1) To paint the leatters of the devices you restore in this case "MINIMA TUTTI FRUTTI D.R.G.M. 1909" it's nice to see those letters in a different colour. 2) To add the use of the device once be restored and see how it works Thanks for reading this... all the best,
Is all that paint safe for human use? And whether the interior could somehow avoid being painted and if so, what could have replaced that paint to prevent corrosion without endangering human health? Otherwise in my opinion you are the best in the business on YT since I can't say that you are a restaurateur because probably none of you have finished high school for that!!! Or maybe I'm mistaken? Hello from Serbia!!! 🇷🇸
Youre definitely right! Since this is just a piece for decoration/displaying, iam planning to do another one in the future with original tin plating AND a final test!!! :-)
Did an incredible job. After reading your responses to previous comments, you answered my questions. I'd love to see that hanging on a wall in my kitchen. 👍👍👍
Super jest to odrestaurowane i przepiękne to wygląda ale środeka się nie maluję tylko zostawia się gołą stal pozdrawiam twórcę tego filmiku serdecznie👍👍👍👍
The screw, i believe, and the interior which contacts food, should be plated in tin or nickel, rather than painted. Probably tin as most safe and hypoallergenic. Tin has a VERY low melting point and is often done simply by melting and spreading "food safe" tin solder over a surface.
:( where's that juice? Nothing more awesome than reflecting on seeing juice sqeezed the first time as a kid! Makes dreams fly thinking about what could happen in the future! I'm here now and seeing this Juice maker makes me think about other people knowing value and how cool of an item this would be to stumble across traveling or maybe in a local art shop! Things like this always keep dreams alive!
Отличная реставрация, для музейного экспоната идеальный вариант. А для приготовления сока неподойдёт, потому что вся краска которая внутри при эксплуатации облезет, и попадёт в продукт. А это грозит отравлением
Insides were most probably tin plated originally as was the practice in the old days and still is for all the copper kitchenware, not an easy task to carry out for first timers but can be done since tin melts at very low temps compared to some other metals so it could be done with a blowtorch, heat resistant gloves and ball of newspaper to spread the molten tin on the surface evenly. If not, I would have left it bare metal, maybe a satin clear coat to serve as anti-corrosion and that's it in which case you couldn't use it as an actual juicer. Yet it was a bad idea to paint it white, food resistant or not, to me you destroyed "ye olde beauty". Oh, the shade of blue should've been "azzurri" btw.🤨🤔😊
Good job overall, but you can't use it painted like that...you'll have paint in your juice . Better to clean and paint the outside and leave the inside bare and wipe it with a natural oil to maintain it . Not sure why the need to trash the original handle pin. Press or tap it out, straighten it, and and reuse it.
Chris, thanks for your comment! I had several options/ideas for doing the inside. But the, for me as a hobbyrestorer, easiest way was to use this paint. As mentioned in the description and video, it’s a special fruit acid resistant paint. It’s called „Kelterlack“ and it’s used by wine farmers in several ways. I also had the option of an natural oil, but I think this would have caused a fake taste. Last option would have been a tin plating, but I don’t have the possibility to do that. I hope you understand why I chose this way. And I hope that you enjoyed it anyways :-)
Mister Patina...I greatly enjoyed watching the restoration, and thought over all you did a great job ! I'm subscribed as well...to see more of your work . The paint being fruit acid safe is a great idea , my concern was with the moving parts . Metal on metal contact will wear the paint , and seeds may also be able to wear it if they're hard enough . They have to make something that you could put on a tool like that to keep it rust free...even if you have to wash it before use...
Looks cool bro, I dig the colors, only thing that I would have done different would be to paint the letters so they pop. Great job and hey it's yours so make yourself happy. Nice work.
Bro, I actually thought about doing it. Today’s video will be without painted letters too. Next project with letters they will be painted just for you! :)
Neat restoration, really cool piece. But does anyone else feel like just the buffed metal look would’ve been more appropriate? Those really cool unique, contrasting colors seem more suited for a ‘57 Chevy, as opposed to this piece.
Vic from USA - Great work, a master craftsman. Just a thought. Did you ever consider listing the "man hours" spent to renovate a piece? I'm sure a lot of time is spent on each one.

Excellent work as always. You know, this restoration allowed me to understand a controversial song by Little Richard "Tutti Frutti" 🤭now I get it, no wonder was not welcomed in the early 50"s "... Finally, there is paint-flavored fruit juice :-D
