    Glad you got in some rereads. I always love how the experience of rereading can both be so familiar and so new at the same time. Balancing reading goals is hard! 😂 So many things to read, so little time.

      @@ThatsSoPoe so true !! also i feel like my rereading is even more heavily informed by mood than other reading which makes it kinda harder to do

    Sooo glad you loved the Whale Rider! I hadn't realised the audiobook was an updated version, that's how I experienced it and I thought the narrator did a great job but now I'm intrigued about how it might be different 👀

      yes ! altho they are fairly minor and i think to me it was quite clear that the changes were made for an american audience who might not b familiar with certain words or terms. i feel like maybe the final scene was changed though actually? but now i cant remember - i think in the audiobook there was an afterword about it or something? soryr my memory is rly foggy !

    Interesting what you said about reading different translations to get a better picture of the source material. That makes total sense but I'd never really thought about it before. I find translation so fascinating.
