Reminds me of some costumes we made a few years ago - use grey cpvc electrical conduit to make "chain rings" and then put those together in a 4-in-1 chainmail pattern. Light, and looks great for fantasy stuff.
I wish I could take credit for it - the idea was my best-man's (though the costumes were not for my wedding) he had to costume a half-dozen "orcs", so he made four flat poncho-like arrangements of the stuff.
Very cool. I took it upon myself to wire up a bulb on a rope from the individual components off the back of the example you set. Allowed my wife to get exactly what she wanted
sorry, very poorly explained. My wife and I needed a bedside lamp in our room. Instead of traditional lamps, she wanted a bulb on a cord that she could run up the wall and off a shelf bracket (x2). She had a very specific design in mind, so I encouraged her to get the bulbs, bulb holders, cord and plugs as individual components and I wired them together. I don't do much DIY, so it was cool to research and then get the job done and produce something she liked. I felt inspired by your videos; you always encourage your viewers to crack on and make their own projects. Enjoy the coffee!
Glad it turned out. Keep challenging yourself. You get to keep the skills you gain for the next project! Oh, and bear in mind: the way to a woman's heart is through constructive acumen. Seriously, it's evolutionary ;)
Three videos in one day, what a treat! Thanks for the tips, if I were to add one: the sole of an old running shoe makes for a great abrasive cleaning stick. Hope your move is going well, cheers!
Haha, I make these too! I use the little pvc cutter tool and cut pieces off and cut a slot in one side. It keeps my hands busy while watching a movie or something. They're useless, I'm not sure why I made them, but it's gratifying to see I'm not the only one =]
Totally gonna try, this will be good for toy chain for my kids. It breaks away if you pull too hard / get caught on it. Thanks, will convert to millimonkeys myself ;)
Not going to lie, don't think I'll have a use for this one (who knows in the future though, I suppose), but regardless I enjoy watching you do the project. Does that make me supervisor material? Not about to do any real work, but I'm good with watching other people do it? Lol. Thanks again, pocket.
Sounds like you have the qualifications, but unfortunately there are no openings in the position! I've already had a number of expert supervisors in this morning, and they are all very helpful with respect to offering me their advice. We'll call you ;)
I'd love to see sprockets designed to work with this chain. maybe three discs laminated together. a center disc to align with the links that are on edge and two outer discs to engage on the outer edges of the flat links.

That is really clever.

I'm not sure I understood what you just said.
Wow, I'm dumb without coffee! brb

If you have white walls outside you could use them to hang decorative buckets with flowers and plants in
Was going through a bunch of old watch later videos and found your channel again! Good stuff
"Not sure what you use it for... but it's cool." -Art in a nutshell
Double action jig. Nice. I would expect nothing less from the great pocket. Cheers! Chris.
You're a clever man. I really enjoy these videos, keep them coming please. Good job!
Love the jig.
Yet another awesome video from you
I think I could watch you making anything. You could make a hippy door curtain with this.
You just gave me a flashback. I had one of those in my first place! It was GITD.
I knew you were a man of good taste!

Good luck and have fun! 7/16" links break at about 15 lbs. of tension, and it can snap pretty hard, so kids should still be careful.
noted, thanks! perhaps widening the gap would lower the breaking tension...see this is the kinda fun science garage questions I love 😀
Love it! Keep doing what ya do! I'm watching.
PVC BB8! pretty cool :)
Looks cool for hanging my shop radio!
Third video I've watched from your channel, great videos, you have a new subscriber here! keep up the great work, thanks!
Great. Thank you! Be sure to watch that geodesic sphere one. I think that was my favorite ;)
I'm gonna rescue so many children!

pocket83 sounds good, haha!
if you could only keep one.....what would be your only electric power tool?
Table-saw and impact driver ;)
You're like Cody's Lab meet The King of Random :3
noose?
aww you can do anything you set your mind too. i believe in you !

That would make a really cool sound. With a bunch of replaceable gears it could make a really fun toy for kids. Or adults ;)
I have a central vacuum to install and need to cut the 2" PVC pipe. Could I use a mitre saw for that? Would a fine tooth blade be good enough?
Sure. I do it all the time. Just cut slowly, and make sure your cut-offs aren't small enough to fall into the blade cavity.
Nothing wrong with a little Mindless Self Indulgence...
Neat.
3/4 inch = 19.0500 mm
interesting
Get a big clock.
Get gold spray paint.
Get a time machine.
Go to the 90s.
Profit.
Downspout chain, no rust!
Am I the only one who sees the chain and thinks pool?
My mind just immediately goes to some sort of marine application.
pocket83², I have a yearning for secrets, so I can't stop looking. And you can't make me!
Seriously, don't get rid of them.
Yes I do *o*
Ever notice how bad pvc smells when you cut it
U are a meme my friend
Cosplay chains. Real ones are too heavy.
Use the chain on Halloween.
Ok
Métric bait.
And in metric thats.... 😂

Thumbs down, and unsubbed. I was looking for a diy chain that's child rescue certified... Lol
In metric. Haha.
Poop?
Very Cool
