You'll really start to feel old when you can remember dozens of fads: Pogs, slap-bracelets, trolls, beanie babies, Furbies, Koosh balls, Tamagotchi pets, super soakers, slime, pull-cord copters, hacky sacks, mini RC cars, Pikachu, Pogo balls, NES, bobbleheads, smart phones... ...the list just keeps getting longer as you age- and you start to become less surprised!
Love your videos, even though I don't know half of what you're talking about. I watched Peter Brown dip some things, saw him do the mosquito that went to you, watched you make the cane, now I can't stop watching your videos. Thank you for being interesting and entertaining.
I only know about it because someone made a 3d printed one and plumbus were a meme for a while. It's from some TV show that I have no idea why it's so popular. (And yes, I have seen it. I just don't 'get' it.)
I love how in addition to going back to the pvc + golf ball materials as requested for this video, you've also used an impressive amount of techniques that you've demonstrated in previous videos. This sort of felt like the final section of a video Game tutorial. You've shown us how to do so many things... now let's put many of those techniques together to make something more plumbusy using those moves and tools from previous sections. Dat knife tho. I also think that glued balls would make a dangerous and unpredictable weapon come the impending apocalypse. Wubba lubba dub dub.
This is pretty dope! I liked the demonstration of when you used two together in a sort of Bey-blade manner. Aswell as the demonstration with the glued golf balls... I surly hope nothing got damaged, I'm surprised you did't take any precautions and made a plywood board to have in front of your midsection.
OMG, I was rock hounding a couple years back, soon after a huge rainstorm. I found almost 90 golf balls on the island in the middle of a river!!!! Yep, a few of those toys will be made.
Roses are red Violets are blue I saw Pocket And so did you! By the by, I love how the human eye "aliases" rotational frequencies-- like the old timey wagon wheels appearing to spin opposite the direction of motion. Awesome video, Pocket!! Keep them coming.
That is cool. *_We_* construct that pattern (well, the brain does), not the video. It reminds me of the Moire effect. Really, it could be argued that it's the same thing. And where did you see me? Everyone is saying that, but nothing in this identifies me.
Pockets I had my m0use Pointer in the road when you sprayed the balls Pink and I got over spray on it so I had to watch the video twice and it was as interesting the second time as the first .Keep up the good work ! P.S I watched a video of a guy painting a cabinet White so I stuck my pointer in there and it is white again Good Day !
I like the Felix Klein quote at the end of the video. I always felt the need to understand my math at the intuitive level. If I didn't 'get' something then my mind would obsess over it and I would feel driven to test it out and explore its limits until I clicked.
I love that quote. I've been told so many times that I "think too much." Nonsense- that's intellectually lazy rubbish. When we exhaust a line of inquiry through thorough scrutiny, there is a satisfaction to be had from finding a 'solution,' or from reaching a state of total completion; but beyond that, when we go so far, something stays with us when we later forget all of the details. The thing that remains is the concept- it's like the jewel inside of the experience. It's what we are looking for. It's what makes us smarter. And better. Every single time.
At 8:29 you made it sound like the pull string was going to be made out of the PVC, so when you were smoothing the corners of the PVC piece, I thought you were doing that just to make thin PVC shavings which you would then braid into your own string!
Another fun video. Thanks pocket. Do they still make those golf balls with the rubber bands in them instead of a solid core? I remember tearing a few of those apart as a kid but it's been a while since I have drilled into a golf ball.
I haven't found any modern ones like that, but wear your glasses. If you do find rubber bands, throw it straight in the garbage. I'm not a _safety Sally,_ but unpredictable variables should be eliminated whenever possible. I've drilled/cut hundreds of golf balls, and trust me- the wrong one can destroy an eye in a blink.
It's like a de-burr for wood holes. Once you start using one, you will start using it a LOT. I may do a how-to for it, since I just redesigned my original (5 year-old) wobbly one and made a better version.
I think there's a website where you can enter a search term, and it will provide you with results that are related to it. Perhaps you would be able to use such a tool to determine the significance of those two words.
You should make other platonic solids with golf balls. Also, I wonder what would happen if you were to golf with the spinning tetrahedron; rather than using a tee, the point it spins on is the 'tee', but I'm just more curious as to what would happen when you hit the thing with a club, like how would it fly, would it have a curve due to the spin? This is assuming the structure doesn't break when it's hit.
Complicated physics. Too hard to predict intuitively, so the gameplay would be no fun, like one of those irregular bouncy balls that are so hard to catch. Hey, you gave me a really cool idea, though: imagine pool in space. Weightless, three-dimensional billiards! *That* would be a game of skill.
Great video, as allways. I want to ship a clever little wooden cube sort of thing to you, but unfortunately I don't live in the States, so the shipping costs are probably higher than the cube thing actually costs.
These are fun ;) I don't understand the fidget spinner; it's not a very good toy. Rolling two disk magnets around one other is more fun than one of those.
pocket83 As a thing to keep focus, yeah I think they're more of a distraction than a help, especially since the cheaper ones don't have very good ball bearings so they make a distracting noise. However, I do find it quite satisfying to feel the moment of inertial resisting me when I try to rotate it about the x or y axis and when I put it perpendicular next to my ear, there's a vert low pitch rumble that it emits that I find intriguing. I'm not entirely sure why it does it.
Assuming your drill press opens its jaws wide enough, if you reverse the chucks while drilling the inner diameter (making the work spin around a fixed drill) the hole becomes even more rounder and centerer. Imagine a lathe standing on it's side, for what it's worth. It is even possible to drill a rod holding a drill with pliers that way.
Please, please, please make another video with this and hot glue balls and see what it does to different things. Like see what happens when it hits cardboard or a watermelon or something.
You must be the first person I've encountered that knows who Felix Klein is. Care to attempt a Klein Bottle? Don't know what you would make it out of -hmmmm. There is a glass blower on the internet that makes them. I had one for years until it broke. You have to be the only channel that I subscribe to that gets immediate viewing. Always fun man. After you figure out the bottle conundrum, swap out those golf balls for steel bearings, and a motor to charge the system instead of a pull string. Just playing. That would be a bit dangerous me thinks.
The Trol King has her own agenda, and has little concern with the Nids themselves. That's why it's so sad, because some of the little Nids actually believe that her policy changes will somehow benefit them.
Looks like someone has some time on their hands... listen to me... shucks i sub this along time ago... you are exlant for my granddaughter an i... keepem comin...
Is this kind of beyblade banned in tournaments?
Rumba Chumba ŵ
People still do those? Wow, I feel old and I'm only 20.

pocket83 I remember all of these lol and now it's the fidget spinners
I don't feel so old now. I actually still like a few of those fads.
Love your videos, even though I don't know half of what you're talking about. I watched Peter Brown dip some things, saw him do the mosquito that went to you, watched you make the cane, now I can't stop watching your videos. Thank you for being interesting and entertaining.
Thanks! I'm doing my best.
pocket83 You're definitely doing very well in my opinion 😊
Jaymee Michelle yeah same
There is absolutely nothing I enjoy more than watching what you can come up with by using golf balls and PVC.
I wonder how many people googled "2-part shleem" to try and figure out what you were talking about. :-)
come on, no one can be that misinformed xD
I only know about it because someone made a 3d printed one and plumbus were a meme for a while.
It's from some TV show that I have no idea why it's so popular.
(And yes, I have seen it. I just don't 'get' it.)
You don't need to get Rick and Morty, Rick and Morty get you in the end... They always do...
Can confirm, season 2 ending got me right in the feels.
It was fantastic. It's always fantastic, and the first 3rd season episode was a good start to an amazing season, had to watch it twice back to back...
I still don't know why I love these videos so much lol. So random, but so creative and so entertaining.
You don't have to ask what a plumbus is. Everybody knows what it is and Everybody should have one or more in their household.
This is a comment.
This is a reply.

pocket83² or is it?
pocket83 i usd hot glue and broke my TV LOL
This is not a pipe
I love it how you're so innovative with things.
Good use of the fleeb juice for drilling steel.
I like the ingenuity in these projects! Nice work
super interesting it's always a good day when there are new pocket videos
You have so many clever tips and tricks, please consider making a "Workshop hacks, tips, and tricks" compilation!
I foresee a full on tournament with these things in the future. Pretty cool!
It seems like you really had fun with this video. Its always good to see.
The "schleem" part really got me
Golf balls everywhere!
Another masterpiece from you, thanks for making these! Cheers

6:04, simple and genius. Can't wait to try it, Matthias Wandel owes you a commission as I am going to have buy his belt sander plans LOL.
My cat loves to watch your videos and so do I. Thanks
This is pretty dope!

Love your channel, man. Also really enjoy your other channel. Keep up the great work!
As always a pleasure to watch your vids. You're amazing! Thanks for sharing...
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I saw Pocket
And so did you!
By the by, I love how the human eye "aliases" rotational frequencies-- like the old timey wagon wheels appearing to spin opposite the direction of motion. Awesome video, Pocket!! Keep them coming.

Great work! Always look forward to your vids. Love the R&M theme!

and now we will add the Floob
CallyMac fleeb*
nope
look at the manual
You don't add the Fleeb. The Fleeb is rubbed against it, which is important because the Fleeb contains all the Fleeb juice.
Cool video. You teased us at 5:05.
At 8:29 you made it sound like the pull string was going to be made out of the PVC, so when you were smoothing the corners of the PVC piece, I thought you were doing that just to make thin PVC shavings which you would then braid into your own string!
Just awesome. How 'bout a follow-up, where you paint a stripe on one and point a tachometer at it. I wanna know how fast those suckers are going.
It's over 9000.
That hot glue bit was genius.
where did you get those mirrors so you can see your fingers drilling?
Man, I love your insights! awesome solutions!!!
Another fun video. Thanks pocket. Do they still make those golf balls with the rubber bands in them instead of a solid core? I remember tearing a few of those apart as a kid but it's been a while since I have drilled into a golf ball.

Imagine if the hot glue one hit you in the nuts. Ouch...
Thats what I thought. How funny since 2 golf balls together kinda look like nuts.
Missy Evitt I see the Falcon V thing, but I have no idea what you're talking about...
I want to come to your house and play with all your amazing creations!
No! They're my toys!
You'll have to make your own.
uh... I'm telling!
In the opener, you had some wooden cubes. Where'd you get those?
Special order online. Search for "wooden cubes." I'm sure you can find a specialist out there; perhaps someone who can use a saw to shape wood...
You should make a Royal Game of Ur board, It woud be interesting which direction you take with it.
Cool pocket rocket! Hehe
Yep, that might just work as a plumbus... just might... keep up the good work, let me know when you're done with your portal gun!
holy crow there's a lot of helpful stuff in this vid!
I always wondered how you make one of those
@13:36 how particle colliders work...
Glad to see another video :D if you don't mind me asking, what inspired this project?
You used a sound effect and we saw Ms. Pockets chin!? Is Pocket finally getting comfy online??
love the cone sander at 8:33.
It's like a de-burr for wood holes. Once you start using one, you will start using it a LOT. I may do a how-to for it, since I just redesigned my original (5 year-old) wobbly one and made a better version.
pocket83 that's awesome I can see how it would be useful.
is this bayblade?
*Someone please explain what plumbus and shleem means.*
I think there's a website where you can enter a search term, and it will provide you with results that are related to it. Perhaps you would be able to use such a tool to determine the significance of those two words.

Gotta appreciate the refference to Rick and Morty! Brilliant :D
Always wondered how Plombuses were made. But where is the Dingelbup?
Great video, as allways. I want to ship a clever little wooden cube sort of thing to you, but unfortunately I don't live in the States, so the shipping costs are probably higher than the cube thing actually costs.
Thanks! You can send me a pic.
It's the thought that counts ;)
Pocket 83 the golf ball hacker. LoL Good stuff as always.
The golf ball master. The glue balls looked like Fun.
This is so badass compared to popular fidgets
These are fun ;)
I don't understand the fidget spinner; it's not a very good toy. Rolling two disk magnets around one other is more fun than one of those.

It's a gyroscope you can fiddle with while paying attention to something else. That's the most favourable way I can describe them.
Unless you already have, you should post this on the Rick and Morty subreddit! :)
Assuming your drill press opens its jaws wide enough, if you reverse the chucks while drilling the inner diameter (making the work spin around a fixed drill) the hole becomes even more rounder and centerer. It's been a few years since last time i watched ye. Last video was that XBOX video. Ye have come along nicely laddie! Keep up the good work
I don't understand the Falcon 9 rocket joke, would someone like to elaborate on that
Think Austin Powers space ship.
Please, please, please make another video with this and hot glue balls and see what it does to different things. Like see what happens when it hits cardboard or a watermelon or something.
Is that a rocket in your pocket or you're just happy to see me?
Good stuff

Still prototyping.
Thanks for the support ;)
Dude, its been 5 minutes now!
I've always wondered how plumbuses were made! *burp*
i always wondered how plumbuses were made
Gunhaver watch interdimensional cable 2: tempting fate. They litterally show how the're made. (Yes I know you were joking)
What is a Nid?
ruclips.net/video/OfbekqJUtJc/видео.html
I'm confused. Is the Troll King oppressing the nids, or is she behind one of the nid factions?
The Trol King has her own agenda, and has little concern with the Nids themselves. That's why it's so sad, because some of the little Nids actually believe that her policy changes will somehow benefit them.
I don't know the hot glue one seem like fun too
If you knew the hot glue one would go flying, why’d you do it in your shop?
I heard you say hot glue and I thought to myself "has pocket lost his mind?"
"Wow! hot glue is a lot stronger than I thought!"
Ya almost got me!
I would like to see that failure! Flying apart insanely!
Weaponize it!
What was that weird trump picture that popped up around 10 minutes?
Butthurt.
i thought i was the only one +1
It's funny because the first reply to your comment is exactly what that picture was referencing.
To simplify: "a house divided cannot stand"
you should make an arena for them
Wait, golf balls are PURPLE on the inside?
Damn.
Been watching forever....finally saw you face. Kinda
I'd buy that for 15 schmeckles!
why does it look like a plumbus
any one else notice that, what does it mean???
The fire must cool
Looks like someone has some time on their hands... listen to me... shucks i sub this along time ago... you are exlant for my granddaughter an i... keepem comin...
I knew Dwight would watch Rick and Morty!
12:25 Clever... Cle-eh-ever...
Bwanananananana
make an arena thing for them, kinda like beyblades.
The title is almost as much fun as the gadget...
Sure it looks like the _Falcon 9_.
Rick and Morty references so awesome
Neat video, although I will say it really takes some balls to show this stuff on ewe tube.
Imagine if the hot glue balls at the end went for his balls.
fidget plumbus
I swear this guy gets so high.
These are the new beyblades that come out in 2019
No wonder the 1/4” pipe didn’t go on the 1/4” rod. You they’re the same size.
At least no blips and chips tickets were needed
5:03 Be careful, can almost see your face.
Holy shit is the comment thread on this video amazing.
It’s the forbidden beyblade.
2018 9 months later look it a figet spiner
When i first lookd at it i thot it was a plumbas
WUBBA LUBBA DUB DUB
