Quite apart from the clever little puzzle, I really thoroughly enjoyed the "instructional video" of woodworking and building the puzzle. You have an unusually good instinct for instruction. The video is well filmed, and shows all the important steps in a way that both explains why you are doing them, and that demonstrates completely the steps involved. I am no woodworker, but I feel like I could indeed reproduce the puzzle by following the steps you demonstrate so well. I'm a tech writer, so I really appreciate well-done instruction and explanations. Thanks very much.
+garyzim That makes me feel as though I have succeeded, so thanks. But I will admit that it is not instinct at work here so much as it is practice. My early videos were awful.
+garyzim Yeah, I was just about to say this, but you seemed to have captured the idea perfectly. I'm tempted to go out and buy one of my own so I can cheese all my friends with it.
+garyzim While reading your comment, I couldn't help but notice the quality of your writing. I was happy to find out that you are, in fact, a writer. Cheers, to the beauty of perfecting an art - be it woodworking or writing.
+SuperDuckyWho And after perusing the description and comments I'm confused as to why anyone would go batshit psycho over this. It's a RUclips video, and a fairly interesting one involving good craftsmanship. If it was ACTUALLY impossible then it wouldn't be a puzzle, would it people? It would just be a thing with a ring in the middle. Wtf?
+SuperDuckyWho Yes, myself too, I wish I would have taken a physics class at some point, Great series of videos. Oh, by the way, every youtube video will have comments as desribed in the comment area. I cant spell so I will leave it at that.
I would have put in a little spring to keep the center post up. This would require a little extra downward pressure to open it. Thus, it would be more difficult for someone to accidentally stumble onto the soution.
I'm going to put a wedding ring in this contraption and tell my girlfriend if she solves it without breaking it we'll get married. That'll shut her up for awhile.
My complements on the excellent video work and sound. The tool closeups, clear sound, and detail was excellent. I appreciated the wood working aspects particularly. This should be a model video for others doing you tube videos.
Have you seen the japanese puzzle with the 2 balls and the ring? I would love to see you solve that without watching the whole video! When I was watching that I thought of you and this video. Title is 10 year old impossible puzzle.
Despite all the angry comments, I found this video to be very interesting. It really goes to show how us humans sometimes perceive a problem as being impossible to solve because we expect that there is NO WAY the solution would be that simple. We go on trying to solve the problem using overcomplicated steps, to match our overcomplicated perception of the simple issue, while the solution is much simpler. Thanks for this eye-opener.
I disagree ...it only goes to show, how difficult it is to solve a puzzle ...when it isn't in your hands. I feel MOST would look at it, shake it a little, pull at the ring ...then lastly, start on the posts. I give this puzzle a difficulty rating of 5/10 - when in your HAND.
The instructions were great. Thank you. The puzzle though, I thought was not a fair test of intelligence since, as you mentioned, the solver lacks a key piece of information. Unless if the point is to get the silver to think outside of box and test the strength of the device. But by that logic, breaking the device would also work. Am I wrong in that thinking?
Barry I also thought that it should have been a puzzle and not a hidden latch to remove the ring . I thought the piece was very nice but not much in the realm of mystery
+Barry Sabahat does it need to be a fair test of intelligence? also i'd argue that it'd be more appropriate to consider testing the middle rod is simply confirmation that there are no movable parts. that's much closer to attempting to test if the wood blocks separate than deciding to break them. it's not complex, it's simply about information gathering processes instead of information processing and analysis. at least that's my take on it.
I'm not 100% sure why RUclips felt the need to recommend this video to me. After having seen it, however, I appreciate that it did. It was interesting.
Thank you. I'm not sure what goes in to those suggestions. They've sent me to watch some pretty bizarre things, too. Also, I don't know why this video is getting so much attention, especially since I think that I have much better ones. Well, glad you liked it, in either case ;)
Agreed - I have since been watching a few more (the Four-piece tetrahedral cannonball puzzle being a favourite) and so you've earned another sub. The clinical dismantling of comments that are stupidity manifest is an added bonus to your videos.
+Pat Maloney He's not wrong about the two forms of problem solving. And his puzzle did require experimenting to discover all variables involved, which is what you have to do for the second method he mentioned.
Guess I'm 10 years late, but really enjoyed this puzzle build video. Well done and makes this very "makeable" by all that view it. The bit to drill this was called a Forestner bit and I would also spray the steel rods also with Lacquer to protect from corrosion in the long run. Great Job on this!!!!
Great video (both the trick and the build)! I am however, slightly concerned and disappointed by the number of abusive comments others have given (my concern being for the influx in insulting or aggressive comments over the years). I don't often comment on RUclips videos, but here I felt compelled to do so. These people contribute nothing positive whatsoever to anything. Their comments only serve to prove how puerile and offensive they actually are. I admire your resilience and resolve. Keep doing what you're doing; there are actually people out there like me who enjoy your videos!
Trust me, I'm glad you're out there. It is my daily hope that the normal, rational people are out there ~reading and watching~ but not actually responding. But I also hope that they agree with my rants for the most part, because I'm hoping that I am normal and rational, too! As for you: Not commenting often may be a sign that you _are_ normal and rational.
this is a great channel. i'm not really into woodworking but this guy makes it really interesting and entertaining. youtube should do more to make this community less toxic. youtube comments are infamous on the internet for being needlessly vicious for their own sake. tons of youtube users seem to come here just to ruin someone's days even if that person doesn't deserve it.
Alex T That's a great philosophy- complacence! Let's just sit here and do nothing, and concede that the entire internet is just a playground for the recently pubescent to work out their primal frustrations however they see fit. I have a better idea: we remind each other daily, and by whatever means required, that parts of the internet are a public forum. You may like your town square filled to the brim with screaming illiterates running around shaking their dinkuses at you, but I like an atmosphere that is a little more conducive to creativity while I'm explaining a project. There will always still be places that you are free to go for your _other_ activities, but please, take it out of my workshop. Here we use sentences and decency, or else I will chastise you just as if you were misusing a utility knife.
pocket83 I stopped reading after "... or the recently pubescent to work out their primal frustrations however they see fit." Most of RUclips is powered by the prepubescent, e.g. PewDiePie. The internet is a crazy place mannnn.
A small thing you could do to allow yourself to sneakily complete it would be to glue some soft layer (leather, cloth, etc.) over the magnet so it doesn't make a clicking noise when the rod slams onto it.
+Volvary Because if you were trying to fool someone without them seeing the operation, say by holding it behind your back, the sounds of the clanging of the ring to the bars and the clanging of the bar to the magnet would be indistinguishable from one another.
the moment you mentioned a magnet and how you were going to use it . Honestly I kind of feel gypped, I thought there was going something more to this, oh well .
pocket83, I loved reading through all your responses to hate messages. You are probably the most grammatically correct, civilized, yet effective person I've ever seen respond to hate messages. Continue putting people down in a civilized manner, good sir!
Great video and beautiful woodworking and craftsmanship! DH and the secret decoder message add-ins were fantastic. Keep up the imaginative and innovative work.
AwoudeX I work well with tools. Its seeing people get their fingers so close to the saw thats uncomfortable, because thats when I've seen them come off.
I don't understand why so many people are disliking the video, I found it very fascinating and strangely satisfying. The way he produces his work so precisely is almost mesmerising. If it's about the description, then I'm not even going to bother to acknowledge your feelings. He isn't wrong, in fact I agree with pretty much all his points. His video, his rules. He can do what he likes, he doesn't need your permission.
Thanks. Most people don't read the description. After thousands of complaints, threats, and assorted angry messages, I think I now have a pretty good feeling why. Most of them feel as though I've been dishonest, because they thought this was exclusively about a sophisticated puzzle mechanism, but instead I show a simple 'how to' and then outline a general problem-solving strategy: the law of parsimony. They feel cheated, because they believe that they already _knew_ that. This isn't technically a true "puzzle," at least according to their personal semantic. This was just a selfish grab at views, and a boring one at that. Two things still disappoint me. 1) I wish they would realize that my channel is primarily about building things, and that this was meant to be a blank format for making more complex puzzles. 2) If the lesson is so obvious, why don't they all just realize it intuitively early in the video (and then leave), rather than watching the whole thing and then complaining. Bottom line: nobody likes to be made to feel dumb, even though more than half of all people _are_ dumb. And this video shows them all that. Also, I'm a cocky jerk that reviles rudeness and entitlement. *Statistical note: children, elderly, and the otherwise sick or infirm tip the balance on the Bell curve to easily satisfy my "more than half" claim. Most intelligence assessments don't control for those variables, so the 'average' is probably a standard deviation generous.
pocket83 You are a really intelligent person, and I admire that. I am very disappointed at the reactions you've received, and I hope it doesn't affect you too badly. This was the first video I have seen on your channel, and you've certainly intrigued my interest... Hopefully I could help you by sharing it with people who I know will appreciate your wonderful work. I believe the negative commenters feel threatened by your intelligence, as you aren't afraid to speak out against them and call them out. Don't be discouraged by them, let them entertain and educate themselves. It honestly shouldn't be that hard for them if they took the effort to complain.
I certainly appreciate your nice words and support. Check my back catalogue; I now have quite a number of videos, and some of them are pretty good (not necessarily the ones with lots of views). I also have a second channel, and the commenters there are great. I chase away the general audience from that channel with periodic videos about birds, train-tracks, children's books, philosophy, and any other boring but intellectually substantive material I can muster. Drop me a comment at some point and let me know what you think/thought ;) Also, expect hidden eggs like this one: ruclips.net/video/1hAnQ7fsSdQ/видео.html
Does everyone problem, no matter how simple, have a decided algorithm? Like the answer to this puzzle is to move the rod a little down and remove the ring. Is that considered the algorithm, or is it just...
+Ben Bloch Do you follow a set system to solve said crossword puzzles? Or do you look at a crossword puzzle and say "I'll read the hints AFTER I fill in all the blanks this time."
I know I shouldn't, but I loved your unexpected, highbrowed, rant as your video description. Of course I read it with speed using the bulking technique, but I understand where you are coming from. I used to do the same, but I grew wiser in the sense of realizing what/who is worthy of such an intellective response. You have a beautiful mind. I pray peace and blessings unto you.
No clue what's up with RUclips recommending videos that have very little to do with a user's interests. Nevertheless this is actually astonishing woodwork, and the editing is absolutely great. Congrats for making something that I don't have much interest in seem so damn intriguing.
netflix is the same now. They're both obviously recommending based on money and business because the suggested videos have nothing to do with your profile or recent activity. I laugh at netflix because it'll be like "because you watched the original King Kong, we think you'll like these. and you'll see unrelated films like Sleepless in Seattle, Law and Order, Xfiles, Mission Impossible, XMen. Really?
Cool. Just ran across this video. Wow, 4 years old. How did I miss this? Anyway, great job. I love the puzzle, and am going to make one. I watched the video before even thinking about how it worked. Not sure why, but it didn't detract from the enjoyment either way. It was fun watching the trick evolve. Figured out how it worked as soon as I saw the center hole on one side being deeper than the other. Solidified that idea when the magnet appeared. Simple but intriguing. This will be especially fun to see my Grandkids working this out. Thanks for doing this.
I clued in on disassembly or moving parts when you mentioned additional information, but I hadn't figured out what exactly was going to move. But after watching the first two puzzles and listening, I didn't want to think the puzzle was as simple as it was.
Philosophical description. Actually loved reading the whole thing. I liked the video simply because I enjoy seeing people craft things. I'm not good with my hands. I'm good at gaming. I've always wanted to craft though. Have a nice day sir.
Nice, good work! You have to remember, some can’t figure things out. When they have the answer, they feel it’s stupid because they could not figure it out. I love puzzles, and this one is good. Thanks for sharing, keep doing what you do.
Pocket83, I appreciate the well-typed captions on this video. As someone who has hearing loss, the addition of accurate captions cannot be overstated as the youtube ones are frequently horrendous. I will be watching more of your videos in the future because of this.
I appreciate the appreciation! I'll type out a few more when I get some time. I usually wait until they get lots of views before I bother. If there is a certain one you are after, let me know. I was thinking of doing either the tetrahedral puzzle or the truncated icosahedron solution, but it's no laughing matter to type out 15 minutes of dialogue. Sorry for not being more on top of it.
This video was interesting and enjoyable. Honestly there is no reason why this video should have hate...I really enjoyed the process on how you built the trick. To be fair I was complicating myself on how to take out the ring XD Great video bro! Haters just jealous because they couldn't solve the puzzle 😉
This was so satisfying and interesting to watch. Your craftsmanship is beautiful and it was very interesting to see the process you used to make it! (I also thought that the little decoder in the middle was cute and fun 😄)
You did a great job! I like the attention to detail as well. I could not figure out how to solve it, until you explained the magnet during the production part of the video. I suspect I might have never figured it out, unless maybe given the chance to hold and inspect the item in person. Even then I can not say for certain. Thank you for sharing this.
If would be better if you gave the puzzled victim a false sense of hope with a misleading solution giving them incentive to try and figure it out rather than giving them nothing at all and having them give up right away. Maybe a section cut out from the middle rod the exact size of the ring? Have one piece of the rod glued and keep the other magnetized. Something like that would give them reason to stay and at the same time actually make it harder for them to find the real solution.
I figured it out the moment you said you made it. I didn't anticipate the magnet but I did realise the center post must be moveable. Though the puzzle is rather simple and I doubt it would have taken me long to solve it once I got it into my hands it does a great job at displaying the idea that not everything is as it seems. Well done with the production work, both the craftsmanship and the videography.
first off very good job on the overall craftsmanship. it looks gorgeous... since you asked i knew from the start that it either came apart or the post came out somehow. it was just too straightforward not to be. but i did not see the magnet coming and that was an elegant way to design it.
I clearly never expected 8 million people to watch. Most of my videos get a few tens of thousands, and those are largely from people who also craft things.
Man, I loved this vid. I'm so glad it has barely no noise and you sound so calm all through the video. It's a shame I'll never get to make one of these lol
I'm not so much bothered about the trick, because it's a trick and nothing more ... but I love to watch people quietly making things with precision and skill. It gives me a kind of euphoria, mild euphoria - but still. I once stood and watched an old guy shaping a copper pot with a small hammer for wayyyyyyy too long, just because i went into a kind of stupor, watching his precision and care. I could watch people make things like this all day .... oh - and I subscribed once I'd read your comments about offensive comments. Kudos to you
Years ago, during my lunchbreaks, I'd sit up on the scaffold and watch the bricklayers the whole time. There's just something mesmerizing about watching the application of skill. Thanks ;)
I love how angry idiots like you demand that the rest of us adopt your own personal semantical distinctions. I clearly mentioned that there were two categories of problems at the start of the video: Those with disclosed information, and those with some information withheld. You should be able to tell which case this is.
Funny, I don't remember asking for any of your opinions, and this is my channel! I have to block you now, because I don't have time to keep exchanging insults all day with a knuckle-dragger. But if it's any consolation, I think you sounded pretty tough right there. Have a nice life.
I'm not unreasonable or unintelligent, but that description seems a bit harsh and extremely pointless to me. There are idiots here. The world is full of them. Being harsh to them won't stop them from being stupid. Why waste your energy insulting them and writing long descriptions they won't read?
That's not an unreasonable or unintelligent question. The answer: probably because of how shocked I was at the time. I had no idea. Now I understand; the mindset of the average online video media consumer is one of anger, entitlement, disrespect, false superiority, and echo-chamber induced ignorance. In fact, most comments are so offensive, insulting, and illegible that I now allow less than 10% of them to be posted. Once a week, I scroll down and look for anything that makes sense, asks a question, or offers legit criticism- and out of a hundred I get a handful. They are also surprisingly predictable. The sameness of comments is startling. I can tell you now that your comment will soon have many thumb-ups for its neutral "let's all just get along" appearance, while this reply will go unconsidered. A sentence or two from my description tells you that I am a tyrannical narcissist who can't take criticism- that's all these people need to permanently make up their minds about me. And so, my rhetorical question to you is, why wouldn't you want to force such a mob to confront its own self-destruction? What you call "harsh," I call productive. The choice to remain ignorant _should_ be ridiculed. I won't allow it to get comfortable around me.
Good luck with that one, genuinely. The reputation of the RUclips comment section came about of the effort of millions upon millions of people. They worked damn hard for the title of "Internet Cesspool" and they won't relinquish it easily. Anyone willing to put forth the effort to stem the tide by at least a few people is much appreciated.
Calvin Lin just my opinion please don't hate me.. It is because your thought is somehow being diverted by the first 3 given example. they gave you an impression that everything are solid but can be solved by some twitch and turns.. try to present this video to a new viewer with the first 3 examples skipped? (just a suggestion as I am curious about the result as well.. since I don't have much friends)
I’m way late with I this post, but you tube just led me to your channel. I LOVE IT! Thanks for your time in posting so many awesome videos. I will make this puzzle.
Tim Johnson If this is the best test that you can devise for determining that, it's probably an issue that concerns her more. And how often are you getting married, anyhow?
Liked all the details of how you made the puzzle. Also liked the intro of explaining the different kinds of puzzle. Nicely done. Will look for more. Interesting that some people don't like this sort of puzzle. They feel it's a "cheat".

Why not?
I'm going to put a wedding ring in this contraption and tell my girlfriend if she solves it without breaking it we'll get married. That'll shut her up for awhile.
Lol. She'd figure it out in 5 minutes and you'd be in shit's creek without a paddle. Great thought though for a proposal.
Might wanna make the center post as lotg as the other 3 if that's your idea
+dru. "You have to work to figure this puzzle out if you want to get married." Great.
+Dylan Juhan ha!
how to save your comment. i would like to use this kind of idea whe i propose 5 years from now. ill give her a puzzle with the ring on it.

Wow, thank you. It's nice to get a positive message on this one. I get lots of hate over such a small thing.

+Barry Sabahat The key is to get the solver to pay silver for the solution.
+Barry Sabahat no, this puzzle could be broken and solved just the same as his "proper" method…they are one in the same.
+Sev Frost Hey Alexander the Great solved the Gordian Knot by simply cutting the rope with a sword.

I found your inspiration at 3:57
Well. In terms of problem solving it's terrible. But you are a fine craftsman. And that was a tremendous instructional video. Very well made.
Ok terrible is facetious. Just to clarify

A small thing you could do to allow yourself to sneakily complete it would be to glue some soft layer (leather, cloth, etc.) over the magnet so it doesn't make a clicking noise when the rod slams onto it.
Eh.. The ring already clicks around with the bars regardless of the magnet, doing that would be kind of redundant.
IVIusicFiend What does the ring clicking around on the bars have to do with the sound of a rod smacking on a magnet?
+Volvary Because if you were trying to fool someone without them seeing the operation, say by holding it behind your back, the sounds of the clanging of the ring to the bars and the clanging of the bar to the magnet would be indistinguishable from one another.

I work well with tools. Its seeing people get their fingers so close to the saw thats uncomfortable, because thats when I've seen them come off.
You can use this to keep your rings in one place.
Drop me a comment at some point and let me know what you think/thought ;)
Also, expect hidden eggs like this one:

I made one without the magnet and solid posts on all of them. There is no way to solve it but it sure drives people crazy.
that's what i was expecting when i clicked on the video.
you did the right thing :D
easy there satan..
Does everyone problem, no matter how simple, have a decided algorithm? Like the answer to this puzzle is to move the rod a little down and remove the ring. Is that considered the algorithm, or is it just...
Yes, exactly.
ah, ok. :D
Bored.In.California ? That wasn't me...
+pocket83 crossword puzzles dont have an algorithm
+Ben Bloch Do you follow a set system to solve said crossword puzzles? Or do you look at a crossword puzzle and say "I'll read the hints AFTER I fill in all the blanks this time."
It's called by force, This is how Alexander the Great solved the Gordian Knot

I know I shouldn't, but I loved your unexpected, highbrowed, rant as your video description. Of course I read it with speed using the bulking technique, but I understand where you are coming from. I used to do the same, but I grew wiser in the sense of realizing what/who is worthy of such an intellective response. You have a beautiful mind. I pray peace and blessings unto you.
how do you not like this? the guy is awesome and he's an amazing builder. so precise and efficient. seriously, what is there to get angry about?
it's a trick. that requires yiu to manipulate the hidden rid to do the trick. something you could devise from 2 minutes of holding it.
+FlyingPotato you*
+FlyingPotato not yiu
Really?
I was just watching customgrow420.... how did i get here?
The woodwork was like ASMR for my soul.
My 5th teacher from my old school had the horse shoe one, if you would solve it you get a prize but only like 2 or 3 people solved it
I figured it out when I fast forwarded to last 10 seconds!
your a genius!
Jordan Reid YOU'RE a genius!
+3Vimages he wasnt saying he was a genius lol
I clued in on disassembly or moving parts when you mentioned additional information, but I hadn't figured out what exactly was going to move. But after watching the first two puzzles and listening, I didn't want to think the puzzle was as simple as it was.
Anyone else find themselves here once again after having watched this years ago at some point?
Omg yes
Seriously though...
+Milo Dowling I don't even know how, but you are exactly correct...
yyyaaaaaaaaassssss
yea, can you read minds?
The solution of the trick is actually very disatisfying lol. Nice woodwork though
Philosophical description. Actually loved reading the whole thing. I liked the video simply because I enjoy seeing people craft things. I'm not good with my hands. I'm good at gaming. I've always wanted to craft though. Have a nice day sir.
Thank you! Please try some of my newer videos. This one does not deserve the attention it has.
I figured it out at the beginning but I liked watching the process, brings me back to when I did woodwork.
This video was interesting and enjoyable. Honestly there is no reason why this video should have hate...I really enjoyed the process on how you built the trick. To be fair I was complicating myself on how to take out the ring XD Great video bro! Haters just jealous because they couldn't solve the puzzle 😉
yep
I think the hate is because the presenter has as much personality as a piece of wood
hate for no reason
Cuz the title mentioned puzzle. It isnt a puzzle, but a trick.
T1ger8oi "puzzle/trick" idk if he changed it recently though
This was so satisfying and interesting to watch. Your craftsmanship is beautiful and it was very interesting to see the process you used to make it! (I also thought that the little decoder in the middle was cute and fun 😄)
I also like how you gave us the whole video to figure it out instead of spoiling it from the get go that was really cool and well thought through
Great puzzle. I am a tool and die maker. You did a great job doing certain tasks that would otherwise be done on a lathe or a milling machine.
These are my most favorite types of puzzles very intricate work.
Ppppppmmt rather
Choose
I like the secret that you put in
I liked this video for the amusing description edits. Well played, pocket83, well played. 10/10.
One of the most unexpected endings to a trick I have ever seen!!! Never saw it coming and brilliant woodsman ship. A job well done!
As soon as you pulled out the magnet, i figured it out
+king kazie same here i would never have thought of making the middle post shorter and using a magnet to attract it
Hey man, this was relaxing and interesting to watch
;)
That voice was nice
I'm no Einstein, but the first thing I would've tried is moving the poles.
You did a great job! I like the attention to detail as well. I could not figure out how to solve it, until you explained the magnet during the production part of the video. I suspect I might have never figured it out, unless maybe given the chance to hold and inspect the item in person. Even then I can not say for certain. Thank you for sharing this.
wouldn't rocking the metal posts be the first thing people try? and I mean all the posts not just the outside ones.
Neat puzzle by the way, forgot to mention that.
IVIusicFiend Good idea but wouldn't the magnetized side be unstable and easily fall out upon someone trying to break the ring out?
Suddenly have an urge for something chocolatey
I figured it out the moment you said you made it. I didn't anticipate the magnet but I did realise the center post must be moveable.
Though the puzzle is rather simple and I doubt it would have taken me long to solve it once I got it into my hands it does a great job at displaying the idea that not everything is as it seems.
Well done with the production work, both the craftsmanship and the videography.
The solution of this puzzle was the equivalence of a third answer to a yes-or-no question.
I am starting to wonder if every RUclips woodworker has a framed Hoff photo.
how many others have you seen
rooster700rr ***** has one and I think I saw one in Steve Carmichael's shop as well.
Easy...Get a hammer
this guy gets it.
First instinct
i would have done the same
that's the logical answer
first off very good job on the overall craftsmanship. it looks gorgeous... since you asked i knew from the start that it either came apart or the post came out somehow. it was just too straightforward not to be. but i did not see the magnet coming and that was an elegant way to design it.
I got your algorithm right here. *Pulls out an angle grinder*
good video but why do you have a framed picture of david hasselhof next to your work bench? 3:58
No answer.Must not be ready to come out yet.
I hadnt noticed that!!!!!! TOO FUNNY!!!!!
Daniel Hernandez The real question is: Why don't you have a picture of the Hoff on your bench?
Daniel Hernandez Who doesn't?!
Jokkl Shlokk I know i do
I enjoyed watching him use his tools morethan the puzzle.
Nice piece of wood work.. Really nice to see it being made. 👍🍀🇮🇪
It's funny how he gave instructions on how to make it when the majority of us don't have that crap to make it. Lol. It was interesting though.
I clearly never expected 8 million people to watch. Most of my videos get a few tens of thousands, and those are largely from people who also craft things.
You are very insightful and I thank you for that.
You are very kind, and I thank you for that!
Lapse not in the human memory pertaining to the consumption of a fortified chocolate milk substitute.
oh
Man, I loved this vid. I'm so glad it has barely no noise and you sound so calm all through the video.
It's a shame I'll never get to make one of these lol
love the puzzle you slipped in here. lets say its a line that all youtubers use at the end of their videos.
I am super jealous of all your awesome tools ;_;
Very easy to figure out the only way to release the ring is with the center pole. It must be removed somehow.
Your video was very enjoyable to watch, but it was your video description that made me subscribe instantly.
I figured it out when you said one of the middle holes has to be really deep
Love the secret message in the video! Remember it well.
lmao at the "hidden message!
Thanks ;)
YOOOO I DIDNT KNOW BOB THE BUILDER WAS REAL I GOTTA TELL HANDY MANDY HE MIGHT LOOSE HIS BUSINESS
Lose*
You just physically hurt my brain, thanks for that 👍
man, I watched it all and all I can say is...
THATS CHEATING!
No it's not
+Jadon Underwood It is
Eh yea but just imagine at like dinner parties and you give it to people and ask them to get it off it would be hilarious to watch
I don't understand how there is so much hate on this video. There is nothing wrong with it.
Ikr
there called Haters. they travel in herds. videos to videos. hating on any type of video. good or bad. no one is safe.
ppl expected magic
😂😂😂😂
+Dope4272 true true
Very nice! I too enjoy woodworking and especially like these type of puzzles! Thanks , good Tutorial!
Just use jet fuel and melt the steel beams
jet fuel doesnt melt steel beams

Was that a twin towers reference?
Obi Wan Cannoli no
Obi Wan Cannoli yes
I was really bored. Thanks for secret message. :)
Thank you. Seriously.
Very calming craft. Almost spiritual :) Makes someone want to build things... "Disappearing to the crafting table"
The shiny wood is so pretty...
Neat! I honestly didn't expect it to be that solution. That's just devious :o
i also was astonished. it seems impossible at first. but it becomes so easy any toddler could do it
Calvin Lin
just my opinion please don't hate me..
OH MY GOD ITS MISTER TORGUE.
Calvin Lin
Yup, just like impossible dovetails cube.
why is everyone so upset? I thought this was so cool and interesting.
I’m way late with I this post, but you tube just led me to your channel. I LOVE IT! Thanks for your time in posting so many awesome videos. I will make this puzzle.
And the winner of the Hidden Hassellhoff competition is...
The moment you said magnet, and I knew...
I think I'm going to start putting engagement rings in these just to make sure I'm not marrying an idiot.
Tim Johnson If this is the best test that you can devise for determining that, it's probably an issue that concerns her more. And how often are you getting married, anyhow?
Its a youtube comment. Don't take it so serious.
😂 Same
Tim Johnson Don't do it Tim.... She knows the trick already!
Liked all the details of how you made the puzzle. Also liked the intro of explaining the different kinds of puzzle. Nicely done. Will look for more. Interesting that some people don't like this sort of puzzle. They feel it's a "cheat".
