lots of people hate'n on Travis. I dig him, he plays to compliment the song and the artists he's playing with. As a drummer there is a time and a place for OVER PLAYING, this was not one of them. He kept it simple and low key, as needed.
exactly. he made it sound good in his style. Barker always has his unique style, but he does it w/o trying to steal the show from the other artists. his drum cover to 3AM by em was sick though!
to see a crossover between blink-182 (my favorite band) and eminem (my favorite rapper, yelawolf is signed to shady records) is the coolest thing to me
Well that's because you can only hear the sound from the close tom/snare/bass drum mics, they must have muted the overheads (that get the sound from the cymbals) because the point of the video is to focus on remo
Yeah, it is a Remo video so they were trying to get out any sound that would cloud the sound of the heads. So they basically muted the vocals a lot and all the cymbals. His cymbals sound fantastic though usually. He uses A Custom Quick Beat Hats, FX 16"(?) crash, and a few stacks, as well as a Ping Ride or a Projection Ride I think. Here is a link to the cymbals he uses: zildjian.com/artists/travis-barker
Thanks! My channel is focused on drum sound, moreover I play in a band called Blink '99 (Blink 182 tribute Italy). Nice OCDP snare Gareth! I have a 14x5.8 now, and I'm loking for 14 x 6.5 or 7 with 4 vents.
i think there called concert toms so it projects the sound more it was a massive thing in the 80s but im not 100% sure on that thought i would give some insight towards what your question was about hope that helps :)
Yeah, they're colled "concert". Were used on drum kit during the 70's for a short and "muted" sound. Think Travis play with concert floor tom for the same reason. Anyhow.. single headed drums work great in the studio!! Dave
lapinkoff This is why overheads matter, people. I think Remo was too focused on showing off the heads that they forgot the cymbals are also part of the sound.
@@Stardust_Lei978 Remo is a drumhead company so they're promoting the heads. They do the same on zildjian vids and mute the drums to highlight the cymbals
I dont think they're stackers... I think it just might be EQ on the Drum mics and since this is Remo's video they isolated the drum mic track so it only hears what sounds like the attack of the drums
They're not stacks, straight up (I assume) A Customs by Zildjian, as that's what Travis primarily plays. They sound crappy probably because they aren't prominent in the mix. Personally, I feel that the snare sounds like crap, kind of pingy and tinny. I prefer more body and low end crack. Cheers.
I am not normally a fan of this geezer but his snare work was crisp and his diddlers controlled and his tom work was simple but effective. Maybe he’s finally growing up at 52 😁. Those that get tumescent at his bs overplaying will not like that comment. How dare you use humour it is strictly verboten.
I was there in the crowd. his drums sounded the worst out of all bands. They had the drum sound very low and he was playing to a back track that had drums turned up on that. There were points where he messed up and you can hear the back track playing the part. Wasn't thrilled seeing him.
+Kyle Adams They don't have overhead mics oand they're made to be kinda raw as you're listening, that's the one he uses when he's playing with rap/hip-hop/DJ artists since you don't want your cymbal sound to last long, you need it just for that beat.
+Kaden Lawson - You need to go and explore more music, buddy. There are so many tunes that are absolutely fantastic out there, which absolute repetitive grooves. It's all about supporting the song.
Such a tight and even performance. Perfectly supports the song. Way to go! Love it.
TRAVIS BARKER IS THE GOAT OF DRUMMERS MAN, DONT EVEN NEED TO HEAR THE SONG
lots of people hate'n on Travis. I dig him, he plays to compliment the song and the artists he's playing with. As a drummer there is a time and a place for OVER PLAYING, this was not one of them. He kept it simple and low key, as needed.

Travis marchin-skills is on point! ☺🤙🏼 Love his style! 🤘🏻
damn i love the sound of snare.. and mr travis barker too always give epic performance
Travis...ur an AWESOME drummer!! U compliment any artist ur playing for!! 🤟🤙❤️
Because he is the GOAT

I guess I didn't hear what I just heard.
Hahaha I was thinking the same thing..WTF?!
awesome
Just fabulous.
simple beat but amazing..
solid and inspiring. he is fast, make it entertaining and dont give a shit about naysayers. more success travis and blink-182.
This guy is great
This is the best sound... remo is the best!
Juan Montaña damn right 😎😎
Funny, sounds like a toy kit to me. Great drumming though.
thank u god for Travis
I saw them live at musink 2015. What a dope show!
Afiladisimo ese redoblante, lo bien que suena 😍
Foot tappin, head tappin', fingers tappin while trying to concentrate on the pc with this in the background haha
Legend 🔥🤘🇵🇪
🙏
Great song writer/musician. Less is more.
awesome drum
He's looking pretty good these days for a guy who survived a plane crash with severe burns. :)
The verse reminds of that one song in Halo 2 during that arbiter level.
Fenomeno
Nice
Toca muito esse Mito
to see a crossover between blink-182 (my favorite band) and eminem (my favorite rapper, yelawolf is signed to shady records) is the coolest thing to me
Awesome
Those are nice drums
Very Cool
And it is so great to. Watch hom play
Dope
Remo sounds good, even on a baby drum set.
2:12 bang bang
People talk all the shit they want to. Like the fucking wind....Gone. It's fucking Travis Barker.
Drum machine
quiero saber el nombre de la canción o en algún sitio que se pueda escuchar bien sin concierto
Paula PN Yelawolf-Till It's Gone
This is the closest we will get to him drumming with a shirt on
and pants!
Matty Jiles and surprisingly pants
What cymbals are they? Never heard that kind of sound before...
Well that's because you can only hear the sound from the close tom/snare/bass drum mics, they must have muted the overheads (that get the sound from the cymbals) because the point of the video is to focus on remo
all of them are stacks. So two cymbals on top of each other.
Not for all of them though
Yeah, it is a Remo video so they were trying to get out any sound that would cloud the sound of the heads. So they basically muted the vocals a lot and all the cymbals. His cymbals sound fantastic though usually. He uses A Custom Quick Beat Hats, FX 16"(?) crash, and a few stacks, as well as a Ping Ride or a Projection Ride I think. Nels S the cymbals are stacked with splashes, so basically muted. The audio of this video is coming directly from the camera, not the drum mics.
The floor tom looks like doesn't have neither reso head nor lugs for reso head. Interesting!! Extra-dry sound..
Thanks! My channel is focused on drum sound, moreover I play in a band called Blink '99 (Blink 182 tribute Italy).

Turn yela mic up
Cómo se llama la canción,
+Isaí Hernández Till it's gone - Yelawolf
What song is this
Til It's Gone by Yelawolf
What song?
Till it's gone (Yelawolf oc)
Name of the song?
+Mr.Po Till It's Gone - Yelawolf
cymbals sound like splashes
nickofdon probably cause they didn’t use the overhead mics in the video
lapinkoff
This is why overheads matter, people. I think Remo was too focused on showing off the heads that they forgot the cymbals are also part of the sound.
@@Stardust_Lei978 Remo is a drumhead company so they're promoting the heads. They do the same on zildjian vids and mute the drums to highlight the cymbals
He's stacking splashes on top of the crashes.
I was there
02:12 fayyaahh
i hate when my cymbals go numb for the open space lmao
his cymbal set up is all stackers interesting
I dont think they're stackers... I think it just might be EQ on the Drum mics and since this is Remo's video they isolated the drum mic track so it only hears what sounds like the attack of the drums
+Zfitz1128 no I saw the zildjian spiral stackers on the tops of all his cymbals besides the ride and hats.
+Zfitz1128 It is all stacks none of the other remo vids sound like that plus you can visibly see two cymbals.
👍
what's with the cymbals
+Zen Zstephen Valdeez dude they're awesome. sounds like hitting a cookie sheet or baking tray, you don't love that sound? The snare too.. agh.
+Lounging Monk but why. are they stacks or ..... I guess I never know
+Lounging Monk THE SNARE 😲 sound beautiful
They're not stacks, straight up (I assume) A Customs by Zildjian, as that's what Travis primarily plays. They sound crappy probably because they aren't prominent in the mix. Personally, I feel that the snare sounds like crap, kind of pingy and tinny. I prefer more body and low end crack. Cheers.
+Lounging Monk yes they probably didn't go with the mix well . I prefer a medium to high tuned snare
Not liking the snare. The wires sound goofy
I get that its a REMO drum head video but jesus would it kill you to atleast acknowledge the existence of his cymbals?
Sounds like we're listening through the snare mic
Not the sound i expected from them cymbals
His name is Travis Stacker, I'm sure!
bit of a wasted upload by @remo inc if you ask me...
I am not normally a fan of this geezer but his snare work was crisp and his diddlers controlled and his tom work was simple but effective. Maybe he’s finally growing up at 52 😁. linkin park?
the whole song sounds like an intro
I was there in the crowd. his drums sounded the worst out of all bands. They had the drum sound very low and he was playing to a back track that had drums turned up on that. There were points where he messed up and you can hear the back track playing the part. Wasn't thrilled seeing him.
Those crash cymbals sound so weird
because you're hearing them through the drum head mics and not an overhead mic
+Kyle Adams They don't have overhead mics oand they're made to be kinda raw as you're listening, that's the one he uses when he's playing with rap/hip-hop/DJ artists since you don't want your cymbal sound to last long, you need it just for that beat.
There's spiral rings attached to the top of them like stacks
L
I love Travis, but He added to much snare for this beautiful Track and turned it to an completely other Song. Original drums are better
the song has the same snare pattern as to what travis plays ? Pretty sure travis helped produce this album...
I like this guy, but, the artists with him play... terrible.
Take dis L
OCP is the worst drum company on the market.
They're not bad they're better than Truth Drums
such an over rated average drummer..
+Oh Yeah!!! Dude stfu already. do we have to go over this in every video of travis?
You must better than him eh?
Literally the most repetitive song on drums I've ever seen in my entire life
+Kaden Lawson its a rap song. Doesn't need to be over-played on. drums were what they needed to be.
It's called pocket dude! He's playing a pocket drum beat. Less is MORE!
+Paul Rincon totally agree!!!👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
+Kaden Lawson - You need to go and explore more music, buddy. There are so many tunes that are absolutely fantastic out there, which absolute repetitive grooves. It's all about supporting the song.
