Thanks for that information. That noble gesture was actually moving, in the midst of all the absurd comedy. It's PARTY TIME!!! Good job on the edit, too. So much licensed music makes this a bear to put a reaction up. This movie actually brought about so much lore to the somewhat tired zombie genre at the time. Literally the whole "zombies eating brains" thing started here. Such a fun, great flick.
If you hadn't seen her in anything else, this is quite the introduction to Linnea Quigley. She is usually very ... generous with herself in her movies, but this is probably her best known role.
This is one of my favorite Horror Movies of all time. I strongly recommend Night of the Creeps, Night of the Comet, & Night of the Demons; they are very similar in style, tone and atmosphere.
Glad you enjoyed the movie as much as I did! ♥︎ The corpse from the tank is called "The tar man." The cadaver went for Bert because he was the only one living. Yes, the soundtrack is boss!!! I loved your reactions! Best to you- ♥︎
Fun fact, George A. Romero and Jack Russo both took part in the writing of black and white Night Of The Living Dead. After which they had different ideas of how the follow up films should be. George A. Romero went on to write Dawn Of The Dead and Jack Russo started the Return Of The Living Dead series.
The great character actor who plays the boss that gets called was a really great guy. Met him a few times at the New Beverly Cinema here in Hollywood. He was a regular after he retired from acting. The theater is now owned by Quentin Tarantino, and Clu makes an appearance as the book shop owner in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Sadly, he passed away over a year ago.
I thought the baseball bat moment was a high point for Clu! Was shocked to see him in the Tarantino, didn't know he was still around, always seemed to be in cowboy stuff when I was a kid.
Our "Nudie Booty" Friend ... LOL!!! She's the iconic Linnea Quigley and she had a long career getting Nudie in Campy Horror movies in the 80s and 90s. To this day, she still shows up to Conventions for Horror Enthusiasts.
You had me dying everytime you rooting for the sloppy zombies! This is one that is from the summer of my senior year, great memories, and glad you loved it! Have you ever seen The Stuff? It's more social comedy horror. Can't wait to see what you see next!
I saw it for the first time on VHS in college and was absolutely blown away by its humor and its horror, definitely one of my favorites. Undoubtedly someone on the Simpson's writing staff was a fan as this was the first movie to introduce the "zombies eat brains" trope that would be picked up and popularized by one of the early Simpson's "Treehouse of Horror," Halloween anthology episodes.
I remember when the movie was released all of the tv and radio ads included the zombies calling out for brains. As a rather sheltered young teen I didn't pick up on the idea that it was going to be a comedy to a degree and those ads scared the heck out of me.
I was fortunate enough to catch this in the theater, with a few friends, after an awesome afternoon of skateboarding at an empty parking garage. It was a great Sunday..🙂
Can’t thank you enough Kat ! Every reaction better than the last if that’s even possible . 1985 was such a great year for horror ! “RE-ANIMATOR” is also from 1985 ! I JUST watched “Christine” (1983) today on the BIG SCREEN for its 40th anniversary showing . Do you have access to a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury ? You should somehow watch it from inside that car ! 😱🚘 Also … there is a Friday the 13th in October … just FYI . Let me be the 1st to wish you a very Happy Halloween ! 🎃🎥🎞
This was such a fun Zombie movie. Easily my favorite! And I really developed an appreciation for legwarmers after this movie! 😋 Thanks for reacting to it, Kat!
@@BenpolydactylI could see Dawn of the Dead. But in my humble opinion, Day of the Dead is one of the most overrated zombie movies of all time. I loved the intestine scene, but beyond that, meh.
Kat, you're almost me growing up in the 80s! You're seeing so many movies in the order I saw them as a kid. Loved your reaction! This one is so magical. It's balance of horror and comedy, leveraging Night of but making something new, the outstanding performances of everyone. On that note, this also has the distinction of having an amazing sequel hook in Return of the Living Dead Part 2. I won't ruin it for you other than to say you'll see some familiar faces. It's as bonkers as Evil Dead 2 in terms of meta-filmmaking in sequels.
Glad you enjoyed this and recognized it as a ridiculous, fun horror comedy. This is the movie that created the trope of the zombie exclaiming "Brains!" Since you liked this and enjoy Zombies, I'm going to make a recommendation that I wouldn't give to everyone. PLEASE react to Peter Jackson's "DEAD ALIVE: UNRATED CUT". MUST be the Unrated version. And yes, THAT Peter Jackson that directed "LORD OF THE RINGS". It was one of his earliest, if not first film, and is one of the most over-the-top zombie/comedies you will ever see. Guaranteed. You have been warned. lol
Yeah... about that Peter Jackson movie.... I know You can handle gore - Kat... but this one is the goriest movie ever. Sometimes even my stomach turns. Personally I advise against it. ;)
His first film was Bad Taste (1987) From IMDB: The population of a small town disappears and is replaced by aliens that chase human flesh for their intergalactic fast-food chain.
The character Ernie was based on escaped NotZee Ernst Kaltenbrunner. You can see a picture of Eva Braun and he is singing Panzer's in the Springtime(song sung about the French campaign) as he is embalming. If I recall correctly Dan O'Bannon confirmed this in interviews later. I think Ernie's interest in the zombies feelings has to do with is evil past due to what the Germans did and now him knowing how it feels to be d**d is fascinating. Just a tiny bit of lore for this awesome movie, this scared the pee out of me seeing this growing up lol!
Yours and everyone else's favorite zombies is named Tarman. The black stuff on it is it's skin, from being in that tank the skin melted forming a tear like substance, hence Tar Man. Also the reason why he was moving the way he was was because his bones had nothing to hold them together, just the melted skin. So basically when it moved, the bones were sliding onto each other. It was just a corpse that was basically a skeleton with toxic tar holding it together Thank u so much for watching this. It is my favorite zombie of all time and I love it. U really made my day. Glad u liked it.
Watching Kat Watching this Classic was so much FUN!!! Kat deserves an award for her participation in watching this Comedy Classic Horror Movie. Thankyou Kat for watching this I had so much fun watching you watch this!!! You get a thumbs up from me!!!
It did not popularise it. It invented it. The popularisation kind of came on its own after. Many know about the brains thing, but have no idea about this movie.
this movie is my #1 fav film of all genres, of all time. i stumbled upon your page just after this year's Friday the 13th. i love it so much! you crack me up!!
Don Calfa is the unsung hero of this film. His role as the (possibly neo-Nazi) mortician is one of the most human and sympathetic. His scene with the half-zombie still sends chills down my spine.

But whatever movies you choose I will be happy to watch your amazing reactions and continue to tell my friends to watch as well!
Great reaction, Kat. I've been a fan of this gem since it was released. Had a massive crush on Linnea Quigley (Trash, the naked punk chick) because this movie and her extensive b-movie filmography. I love how Night of the Living Dead the movie exists in the universe of this film. Oh, there are 4 sequels. Night of the Living Dead was made by George Romero (director, writer), Russell Streiner (producer), and John Russo (co-writer). > Streiner and Russo came up with the story for Return of the Living Dead (OF THE LIVING DEAD)... though it was written and directed by Dan O'Bannon. > Romero made Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead (OF THE DEAD) and other films. O'Bannon (writer, director of Return of the Living Dead) also wrote Alien (1979) among other stuff.
Such a great film to react to. I haven't seen anyone else post this one. Props to you. James Karen's opening scene where he explains to the kid how "Night of the Living Dead" was based on a true story is such an awesome setup for this adventure. James Karen deserved an award for his performance. He helps take this movie to another level. Thinking that if you liked this one so much, you need to give "Re-Animator" a try. Buckle up for that one!

Buckle up can pretty much be said about any of the at least 25 movies that are based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft. You should have mentioned the sequels "Bride of Re-Animator" and "Beyond Re-Animator" since she hasn't seen those.
I have re-watched this reaction of yours more than any other reaction by ANY reactor. It's like hanging out with a good friend for a bit. Always makes me feel good. And don't forget Serial Mom. Definitely one you will dig!
I remember seeing this movie poster at the Dollar Cinema my Grandmother took me too, we saw The Ghoulies, the year it came out and it terrified me! It has since become my all time Favorite Zombie film, nothing else can replace it! Great film, great sound track, great decade! I have the sound track on clear green vinyl!
Yeah, this is my favorite zombie-related anything. I only saw it a couple of years ago compared to other stuff I've seen but it ticks all the boxes for me. Comedy, sex, horror, writing, and even sticks the landing with the ending. Other than the rage zombies from the 28 days later series we would be most screwed if this zombie scenario happened.
What was in the bags, Kat, was a whole bunch of those mechanical monkeys with the cymbals, except the cymbals were removed so they didn't make any sound.
It's hilarious in some horror movies how skeletal zombies without lips can somehow speak completely normally and clearly, as they had done when they were still alive-- and they can miraculously pronounce words featuring the letters w, p, m, v, b, and so on. Try saying words with those letters without using your lips, LOL. I'll never forget the first time I saw this, on a VHS tape back in the day. Stuff like "Send more cops" sent me into fits of laughter. Very good script by Dan O'Bannon (writer of the 1979 thriller "Alien"). Also want to give kudos for the music score to Matt Clifford, and also to Francis Haines who did the theme tune (aka Trioxin Theme). Very effective.
This is my favorite horror movie of all time. Punk rock meets zombies meets comedy and over the top blood. The actor the plays Trash (red hair) is Linnea Quigley a scream queen and icon in the horror cult following. She was in a lot of b movie horror and still travels to conventions. Love this movie. Part 1 and 3 are my favorites of the series.
This is a video full of complete joy 😂 I do love this movie and quote it back and forth with my friends often. My favorite line has always been: YOU MEAN THE MOVIE LIED!? thanks for this one!
Love this movie ❤❤❤❤❤ I saw it when I was 6 years old and it scared the crap out of me. Definitely for me and sit in my top 10 greatest zombie movies of all time

The melted zombie from the military drum in the basement of the warehouse is named Tarman, and he is one of the most iconic named zombies in horror history.
Highly recommended the original 1978 Dawn of the Dead (sequel to Night of the Living Dead) my all time favorite zombie movie…also the slimy zombie you loved is called “Tarman” and he has a lot of merch and toys of him if you’re interested haha
I'm so happy you enjoyed this one. It cracks me up that you were offering brains of the dead friend just like I was when I was a kid... I swear no one else that has reacted to this has suggested the same.
Great reaction Kat! You, I think appreciated this movie more and was scared by it less. Are you becoming a horror fangirl? I have a warm heart for this movie because an acquaintance of mine, Jewel Shepard, played Casey, the teen in blue with multicolored hair. She and many cast members go to horror conventions to meet the fans. And believe me, there are still many many fans of this great movie!
Thank you so much for this video reaction. The look on your face when the zombies started coming to life and you thought that all they had to do was bake them. And then they just started going bonkers eating brains. If you like this one, I promise you you’ll like the next one just as much. Hi Kat! Awesome reaction I loved it. You are always so cute in your reactions, but this one was especially adorable!!! I saw this movie when it first came out and I've always loved it! I've seen this movie several times and that phone ringing gets me every time. The actress who played "Trash" is Linea Quigley, she is one of the original scream queens. And she has no problem doing nudity. She has been nude or topless in almost everything I've seen her in. The soundtrack is available to buy. I have it on cassette, the music is awesome!

Great reaction Kat. You can try Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It's been done a few times. My favorite is 1978, followed by the original from 1956. The 2007 version was pretty good too.
The long stick the dude in the mortuary stabbed the corpse with is called a trocar, it’s used for draining fluids in the body in preparation for the embalming stage. It’s really pointy in order to jab the organs so I assume that you'll have some sort of a weapon if you're in this situation. Also doing yourself in via retort machine is oddly unique because it's not really a "death".

I have never heard anyone call the tar man zombie "sweet", and that is why I love your channel.
My wife thinks he's adorable. I get it. He's relatable😀
What an incredibly charming and delightful person you are.
This is the most fun I've ever had watching someone else watch a movie.

Down bad
If you hadn't seen her in anything else, this is quite the introduction to Linnea Quigley. She is usually very ... generous with herself in her movies, but this is probably her best known role.
I think the tarman zombie is by far Kat's favorite character out of all the movies she's watched so far. "Its inside slop is on the outside." 😄🤢
She's not wrong, lol, there's a reason Tarman became so popular.
Tarman is easily top five "hero" zombies. Hope she gets to meet Bub...
I won’t be happy until someone makes a movie where one of the characters says those exact words.
I hollered so loud with laughter when she said that.
Tarman was maybe a soldier in the 1969 incident. he has good problem-solving skills
Your favorite one is known as Tar Man....hes been iconic since the 80s....great react as always
This is one of my favorite Horror Movies of all time. I strongly recommend Night of the Creeps, Night of the Comet, & Night of the Demons; they are very similar in style, tone and atmosphere.
All great recommendations! My wife and I really wanna do a couple's outfit of the prom date with the flamethrower (from Creeps) for Halloween
John, not Jack, Russo's script was totally different, and not good at all. It was on the web years back. Glad it was completely rewritten by O'Bannon.
Russo's script kind of became Children of the Living Dead and that bastardized re-cut of Night of the Living Dead.
Great Movie... Great effects... GREAT soundtrack!!! Watching your reaction is like experiencing this flick for the first time!!! Thanks, Kat..
Great!
Night of the Creeps, for another wacked, funny film.
Don't Look Now - just plain spooky stuff going on, and 1 probable, "avert your gaze".
Our "Nudie Booty" Friend ... LOL!!! She's the iconic Linnea Quigley and she had a long career getting Nudie in Campy Horror movies in the 80s and 90s. To this day, she still shows up to Conventions for Horror Enthusiasts.
One of my favorite actresses
And my, did she ever have the body with the attitude to pull it off. It never felt tacky because she owned it.
Thank you again kat for watching the best movie ever with me and for cracking me up when i needed it most.god bless you.peace
I love when the zombies hop on the radios and order delivery
You said it, Kat: "They're smart , fast zombies; only slowed down by deterioration."
You had me dying everytime you rooting for the sloppy zombies! This is one that is from the summer of my senior year, great memories, and glad you loved it! Have you ever seen The Stuff? It's more social comedy horror. Can't wait to see what you see next!
Can't get enough... of The Stuff! 😉
Trivia, this movie was the original source of the “Zombies eat brains” and “moaning for brains” memes
Yeah oh so Very Funny reactions jeez us. :-|
This was such a fun Zombie movie. Easily my favorite! And I really developed an appreciation for legwarmers after this movie! 😋
Thanks for reacting to it, Kat!
My favorite movie of all time! I have never clicked on a RUclips video so fast before. I love your reaction videos and I can't wait to see this one!
This is the gold standard for me of horror comedy as there are laugh out loud moments and moments of true terror. Loved you finally seeing it
I want to make “He’s so slimy!” My ringtone!
This really is the coolest zombie movie ever!!!!!! 🧟👍🏻
It's close. Dawn of the Dead 78 and Romero's day of the Dead are More fun, imo.
@@BenpolydactylI could see Dawn of the Dead. But in my humble opinion, Day of the Dead is one of the most overrated zombie movies of all time. I loved the intestine scene, but beyond that, meh.
@@NothingButSilicone that is worth it for the gore alone in my humble. Tom is a truly nice guy
Agreed with the original post.
Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍
Is it?
Kat, you're almost me growing up in the 80s! You're seeing so many movies in the order I saw them as a kid. Loved your reaction!
This one is so magical. It's balance of horror and comedy, leveraging Night of but making something new, the outstanding performances of everyone.
On that note, this also has the distinction of having an amazing sequel hook in Return of the Living Dead Part 2. I won't ruin it for you other than to say you'll see some familiar faces. It's as bonkers as Evil Dead 2 in terms of meta-filmmaking in sequels.
I don't know why, but something just dawned on me because of your comment. Kat needs to watch Fright Night.
Kat, we all love tarman
Glad you enjoyed this and recognized it as a ridiculous, fun horror comedy. This is the movie that created the trope of the zombie exclaiming "Brains!"
Since you liked this and enjoy Zombies, I'm going to make a recommendation that I wouldn't give to everyone. Guaranteed. You have been warned. lol
DEAD ALIVE is the greatest. So many classic moments. It's amazing on every level. Unrated version only.
Yeeeeeeeeessssss 👍👍🔥🔥❤❤❤❤😂😂
Yeah... about that Peter Jackson movie.... I know You can handle gore - Kat... but this one is the goriest movie ever. Sometimes even my stomach turns. Personally I advise against it. ;)
His first film was Bad Taste (1987)
From IMDB: The population of a small town disappears and is replaced by aliens that chase human flesh for their intergalactic fast-food chain.
@@robertalter3186 I thought that. The other movie I only know as 'Braindead'.
Best reactor on YT by far. I hope you do John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness eventually. My favorite horror film of all time.
Plus his has a ww2 era Luger.
@@Paul77ozee Not to sound pretentious but it is actually a Walther P38 :). It is a common mistake I think we have all made at some point :).
@@joerussell9574 is that the same type James Bond uses ?
@@Paul77ozee No J. Bond uses a Walther PPK model :).
Burt and Ernie! ;-)
Brian Peck. "We could go and fool around in there for a while..."
That aged well...
This movie is what popularized the BRAINS bit in zombie movies
It did not popularise it. It invented it. The popularisation kind of came on its own after. Many know about the brains thing, but have no idea about this movie.
this movie is my #1 fav film of all genres, of all time. i stumbled upon your page just after this year's Friday the 13th. i love it so much! you crack me up!!
Don Calfa is the unsung hero of this film. His role as the (possibly neo-Nazi) mortician is one of the most human and sympathetic. His scene with the half-zombie still sends chills down my spine.
He was also great in The Star Chamber (1983) with Michael Douglas and in Weekend at Bernie's (1989).
Superb reaction. I so enjoyed your reactions to what has to be one of my top three favorite zombie movies. You had me laughing more than a few times 😂
Linnea Quigley spends a lot of her roles pretty much naked. Part of what made her one of the first scream queens.
❤ one of the greatest zombie movies ever made - the gore, the humor, characters, dialogue, soundtrack- perfect hahaha
Thanks for the review Kat!
Don’t forget the original Suspiria - in a dance studio !
I am so loving your pillow talk, Kat. lol
I love that you reviewed this one!
I found your channel 5 days ago and have watched them all in order and just finished this one today. Some might say I had too much free time on my hands this week but I feel I've spent it wisely. You are incredible and I absolutely love watching you watch the movies I love to watch. Big thank-you to you and to your friend Paul for this genius idea! *a few movie suggestions, if I may, Dawn Of The Dead (Romero '78 original, please and thank you) Session 9 and Triangle. But whatever movies you choose I will be happy to watch your amazing reactions and continue to tell my friends to watch as well!
4:28 Dan O'Bannon, who did the original treatment for Alien from his own short movie Dark Star.
Everyone loves Tarman. If he could give the brain eating a rest, I'd party with him any time. He would be a trip at open salsa night😀
I'd hang out with him even if he just toned the brain eating down a bit
I've meant Linnea a few times, she's awesome and nice.
Linnea was amazing because she took those roles, and just owned them. Her nudity was never tacky or cheap.
So you can't use the Search-option of RUclips, either? :-| :-D
@@vopy48 Just because I had never thought to search for a reaction to this particular title before seeing Kat’s video pop up in my feed doesn’t mean I am unable to use the search feature. 🤨
Great choice. I love this movie. And the soundtrack is amazing.
Rad!
Everyone loves the Tarman zombie.
Your delight at "Brains!" was only eclipsed by your pure joy at "More brains!" I truly love your reactions.
This is a video full of complete joy 😂
I do love this movie and quote it back and forth with my friends often.
My favorite line has always been: YOU MEAN THE MOVIE LIED!?
thanks for this one!
Trust me. "Tar Man" zombie is everyone's favorite.
Look at the eye-chart from the office after Ernie and Freddie hear the corps in the freezer.
Love this movie
❤❤❤❤❤
I saw it when I was 6 years old and it scared the crap out of me.
I thought it was a very interesting concept behind like they really can't kill the zombies no matter what they do except for burn them or storing them in those canisters.
Definitely for me and sit in my top 10 greatest zombie movies of all time
some dumb trivia, read the eye test board in the office for an easter egg and leslie nielsen was gonna be the mortician but for a scheduling conflict.
pretty much the perfect zombie film.
Fun Fact: The movie was by Dan O'Bannon who wrote the screenplay for _Alien_ .
You asked what was actually in the squirming trash bags- supposedly they were filled with toy monkeys with their cymbals removed.
Thank you so much for this video reaction. The look on your face when the zombies started coming to life and you thought that all they had to do was bake them. And then they just started going bonkers eating brains. If you like this one, I promise you you’ll like the next one just as much. The look on your face when you’re saying you love the one slimy zombie you can’t stop smiling hilarious thank you again.
Was so excited to see you watched this one! I grew up on this movie! Tarman is my absolute favorite zombie to this day as well - Happy you enjoyed this!
Such a fun reaction to a fun movie. Takes me back to when I was a kid. Good times 😄
“You know you’ve made it as a word when you get used as military code for a weapon of mass destruction”

OMG! "He's rude to his mom or wife." I said the same thing when I first watched it lol!
Kat's reactions are just adorable! 😍🤗😼
My friends and I saw this when it was released and have loved it since then. Matter of fact we loved it so much we came back the next night to watch it again with more friends we told about it.
Such a great zombie movie, super fun reaction 😅
This is the best zombie movie ever! ❤ No other smart zombie exist in movies 💯 Loved this movie since I was a kid. 🎵DO YOU WANNA PARRTY?! ITS PARTY TIME!🎶
Freddy and Frank should have been considered for Oscar's. Their pain looks insanely believable. I love how the characters talk over each other like people do in real life. Does anyone else think that Ernie was possibly part of the SS?
Strongly hinted at with the pistol and music. Subtle but funny.
@@jtdupin lol the Hans Landa pipe and the pinup of Eva Braun in his morgue. You can really see it when he's using the embalming needle. Damn him! He's my favorite character. Just barely beating Trash 😍 for the top spot. 😆
They did use a clip of James Karen from this movie in the In Memorium on the Oscars when Karen died.
Hehe, this video made me sign up for your pattern:-)
Love the videos Kat, you brighten my day😊
Great reaction Kat.
Return of the Living Dead is my favourite Zombie movie. Its absolutely hilarious. Lets get some light over here Trash is taking off her clothes again 😂
"Nobody undastands me, ya know dat?" ~ Suicide (R.I.P. Mark Venturini)
What a silly, sloppy bunch of fun! This is one I'll watch on my own too.
Your next zombie reaction would be great if filmed in a cemetery. 🎃
I really love this movie and loved your reaction, I hope you add Re-Animator to your long list of film suggestions.
