Interestingly, I had the same issue with the battery connector. Mine also cracked/broke upon removal while I was replacing old factory thermal paste. Unlike yours, seems one of the pins may be unhappy and I would need to replace my fan. Wonder if this connector is just brittle and fragile in all T490s and similar models.

If the computer shuts down suddenly and it's not a temperature problem, it may be the battery. I've had this happen on other Thinkpad computers.
Remove the battery and run it without it, so you can see if it's the same or not.
Tried that with same results.

Hi Binh, I have T490s with non-backlit keyboard. I'd like to replace it with backlit keyboard. Can you make video how to do it?
I don't think you can
You can upgrade the keyboard but as far as i saw it you have to replace the keyboard cover part

Hi Binh, i have the t490s laptop, can't power on, could this be due to bad cmos battery?

When i plug it in, the charge-port led is solid white, the power button "blinks" 3 times.
And that's about it, nothing happens.
Have done the "reset" with the power button pushed in and also with the paper-clip in the back. Still nothing.
I'm thinking maybe pulling out the internal battery or replacing the cmos battery.
Any ideas?

I'm not sure if either a bad battery or bad cmos battery might prevent startup.
Just got the laptop today, bought refurbished.
