Hey Jordan! I’m loving your videos man, they’re some of the easiest to follow on here! Appreciate all the work you put in! In evaluating the theory behind this there’s a couple things I’m struggling with understanding:
    - Why the Dmin7 works as the F note in that chord does not occur in Key of E min
    - Why the A/B chord works as the C# note in the A maj triad does not occur in Key of E
    - Why that B7 altered chord works as that D# note doesn’t occur either.
Trying to beef up my music theory knowledge so I can use these chords and “rule breaks” in my creative process! Any info would help!

Hey Chris, thanks! Little tricky to explain in a comment. The simplest answer would be: Modes. 🤷‍♂️ that probably doesn’t help much. I do virtual lessons, if you ever want to set one up I can help ya understand!

I'm pretty sure while the E min pentatonic scale here works, this progression may actually be in A minor. The B altered just acts as a dominant chord that pulls directly back the E minor 7. So while it starts in E minor, it can actually be seen as a v - vi - i - III - I - II7 in A minor, with the B altered acting as a secondary dominant back to the E minor 7. Keep in mind that scales close together on the circle of fifths share the same notes when using only the pentatonics of those scales too! As for why there's an A major triad works, idk either! But plenty of songs use this technique (probably borrowed chords), and it's likely more of a feel thing than a theory thing. Hope this helps!

What kind of loop pedal do you use? How to change your tone and keep the tone of previous loop - where in the chain is the looper?

thank you so much for this! one doubt: the chords in Eminor in this song are not the diatonic scale right? what's the theory behind this progression i should inform myself about?
Plus thank you once again for the lesson and answear your viewers (me included) requests. gonna get that ebook at the end of the month!

Correct! Dm is the unusual chord.
I suppose the main theory to know that makes this chord progression different from a diatonic progression is....diatonically the D chord would be Major, the major notes id F#.
So soloing in E minor pentatonic (which omits the F#) is great! Soloing in full E
minor scale can include wrong notes over Dm chord.

that improv sounds like Michael Kiwanuka's Money. Chords and rhythm are similar, tho Tom Misch produced it 😂

just wanted to tell you that Jesus Christ loves you so much. and He wants to set you free from your sins and give you rest, truth, peace, love, joy, and eternal life in His kingdom. here’s some scripture
    john 3:16-21:
“for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”
    and romans 10:9-13:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
so repent and believe the gospel! put your faith and trust in God and what He done for sinners like us, also when you have time search up this channel here on youtube “team Jesus preachers” and hear the message in a video titled “does God love or abate you?” please think about these things, God bless you.
