Thanks again for this lesson! I didnt know who Tom Misch was but now im hearing his songs over and over again. Im pumped for this lesson and his playstyle!
Enjoyed the lesson, (chord melody) is the thing that got my interest to learn guitar when I retired. Looking forward to getting to know more about “Tom Misch”. Thanks as usual
OMG I'm gonna so love this course! Love the sound of Jazz chords and soulful funky style playing! Still new to Tom Misch as I was with Cory Wong but will be exploring more of their music as I go through the courses for sure! Players like Nile Rogers, Al McKay , Prince and Jimmy Nolen are some of the rhythm players i'm more familiar but I'm always excited to learn about newer modern day players so thanks Dion! PS Just noticed on the website Unit 1: Lesson 1 the second chord chart is shown as a m9 (cm shape) but as per the lesson with the added note on the high E string wouldn't that make it a minor 11th?
Awesome stuff! They are masters of it taking stuff from the greats such as Nile and making it their own! ahhh good eye! your right that would make it a minor11! 🙌
Hey folks. Love your work and all the effort you put in. Quick question..is this course suitable for a beginner ? If not, what other courses do you suggest I finish before I come to this one !!!.
Hey! Generally speaking yes pretty much any minor can be made into a min7 or min9 and you don't have to worry about staying to diatonic with these either! best advice would be give it a go and if it sounds good keep it, if not keep it as your normal minor chords :)
Tom was the reason I started guitar years ago and have always wanted an in depth lesson on his style. This is a god send 🙏
Huge fan of Tom too. Thanks so much for putting this out ! It helps me a ton covering lots of his songs

Can you always sub in a minor 7 or minor 9 for a minor chord? Is there a general rule to follow for substitutions?
