- The Portraits of Fayum are painting for egyptian mummies of the roman era. They are painted under the greek roman painting tradition just like the byzantine icons. Maybe this is why these portraits - so alluring, mezmerizing, and vivid - always inspire me and teach me great painting. This portrait of a young mans yields a strong impression on me...

Hello. Yes, please. More Fayum. Most don’t know about them. Would like to see one distressed. I enjoy and admire your talent. Thank you.
The Fayoum mummy portrait style is actually the parent of the Coptic style of iconography. Soft and youthful facial features, big round eyes, a sense of innocence and purity especially seen in the facial expression, all of which are characteristics of Coptic iconography, and even the Coptic priests will admit this. They're very proud of their iconographic heritage.

Mostly of Fayum’s portraits were made with Encaustic on limewood. Nice work style.
Thank you Fredy!
The face of this man is similar to Akhenaton.

It would take another thousand years before portrait painting achieved this level of expertise. We're talking about a cultural regression after Germanic tribes took over Europe.
haha yes, they were barbarians
Can you try to paint with beeswax .
Thank you!! That's a great idea!!
