I'm 2 years late but I am enjoying your videos so very much. Your wisdom on life sounds like a much older man. I truly appreciate your view on emotions in trying to learn how to paint whether you are new or a veteran artist. I am learning oil painting from videos since there is no one in my area who can teach me. One suggestion I can make for your fast videos, is to please show the brush you are using before you start each section. That would help me a lot. Wish me luck. Please continue painting videos

Question: I this example it might be the lighting but the darks look gray, I like the look, do you recommend using gray for the darks or umber? I struggle with adjusting my darks after I paint in the lights. It looks like it's optimal to get the darks correct and glaze light over dark, occasionally darkening for details. Is it also OK to glaze more umber over a flesh tone you want darker l8ke for cast shadows?

On your canvass board, did you use natural gesso or acrylic? The egg tempera group on FB says you can't use acrylic gesso with ET, but I've got a big pot of it and I don't want it to just sit and not be used.

Hello I give money to an artist from New Zealand but I am changing to you. I want to support painters who have it hard financially. This will happen when my computer teacher comes on Tuesday. I really struggle with the different styles of painting and which one I should do. I just paint whatever flows through at the time. I try with this blending but it ends up a mess so I destroy the whole thing and then I do my own thing. All a bit crazy but ive had no training. You are blessed you stick to a format

Can you show us how to paint a realistic tattoo on a painted person
It is beyond me how come you speak soo much and well , and if you are supposed to show us how to 'Paint Rosy Flesh' , you don't tell us the colors of your palette as you go on. This to me is incomprehensible, for, contrary to what you say. it really matters to us who wish to learn to become better artists.
