Hi Steve ! Thanks for another fine, sensitive video. Ricardo Montalban was the epitome of suave. He was brought to this country by his older brother who was also an actor. His name escapes me right now, but he had a successful, long run in commercials as "Juan Valdez" the coffee bean selector/ expert for Maxwell House coffee I believe. I remember seeing Ricardo on a talk show many years ago talking about his older brother. He spoke about how his brother helped him deal with and get beyond any anti Hispanic bigotry he encountered. It was clear that his brother was a great man in his own right.

Love the original Star Trek, still watch the reruns! I was surprised that DeForest Kelley, "Dr. McCoy" was cremated, as he had joked in an interview in the 1990's that he thought the epitaph "He's dead, Jim" would be on his grave when he died, in reference to the line frequently used by his character on the many episodes where someone died. Also thought it would have been a nice touch for Leonard Nimoy's epitaph to include something like "He lived long, and prospered." Did not realize he was cremated, as his grave looks like a traditional one and he was of the Jewish faith, which I believe requires burial within 24 hours of death, didn't think they believed in cremation. Also, don't know where his final resting place will be or if there is already a marker there, but I heard that William Shatner has already left instructions for his epitaph to read "Beam me up, Scotty!" 88 years old and still working.
I'm like you, I love it when people have meaningful and especially clever epitaphs. I understand if a famous person wants to be cremated and scattered, but it's surprising that they don't at least have a memorial marker--with a memorable epitaph--somewhere where fans can visit. Thanks, ILS!
I had a t-shirt once......"he's dead, Jim. You grab his tricorder and I'll grab his wallet." It, along with the "Beam me up, Scotty. There's no intelligent life down here." were some of our oft quoted rejoinders. LOL.
I am an original Trekkie. I actually carried petitions around East Valley Elementary School and my neighborhood in Marietta Georgia when I was 9-years-old with my buddy Brian Sharples to keep NBC from cancelling Star Trek in 1967/68. My favorite Trek Star was Irish Canadian James "Scotty" Doohan.

Steve, an interesting fact about James "Scotty" Doohan - he was a Canadian WW2 veteran whose unit landed on Juno Beach on D-Day. He was wounded multiple times, one which resulted in his right middle finger being shot off. Most 'Star Trek' fans didn't notice this because they deliberately hid his injury from the TV audience.
@@TheGraveyardChannel He was married to Barbra Eden at the time I Dream Of Jeannie aired on tv in the 60's. Majel Barrett had a second star trek career as Lwaxana Troi on The Next Generation as well as the computer voice on the ships and vessels of Next Generation, DS9 and Voyager.
Yes. And they still use the voice on the new Star Trek. It's computer generated now though. Majel did love to play the sexy rolls. LOL. By the way.....we went to a convention in Orlando, and the kid with me got to ride up in the elevator with Martina Sirtis. (Sp). LOL Long time since then. The kid was all of about 14 at the time, and she nearly turned his head inside out. LOL. She was supposed to have checked in three hours earlier, got stuck in air traffic, and managed to sneak in the back way. LOL. The minute she showed up at her room security was all over her. LOL.

Although I was never a fan of Star Trek, I really enjoyed this video. I was a big fan of Ricardo Montalban. I enjoyed his acting I thought whatever role he played he gave off a charming performance. Thanks, Steve.
Oh lucky you. LOL. Jimmy was a lovely man. I have a picture of him with me wearing the movie uniform jacket, and his arm around me. LOL. He had to put down his drink to do it though. Oh to clarify ...I was wearing the uniform jacket. He was dressed casual. It was a Trek Con. LOL. I was in Starfleet the fan club, and we were doing complimentary security for the guest actors.
Steve thank you again for a job well done. I enjoy your videos and especially this one of star trek cast members and when they past away it is so good to bring this information to us star trek fans thank you.
Steve, great show. You always enlighten with your honest and honorable way you speak about the departed. Tip: if you want to cut down on wind noise, use an omnidirectional microphone and that fuzzy filter.
I always was and i always will be a Fan of Star Trek. Thanx for sharing this. Two years ago i was in Los Angeles and i made the Star Trek Hollywood Boulevard Star journey. I visited all the Stars of Star Trek Actors that are on the Street. It was a long walk i can tell ya.
Thank you for another awesome video Steve! A little bit of trivia: When Ken Berry was serving in the Army, just before being discharged he asked his Sargent advice about becoming an actor. His sargent apparently gave him good advice because he wound up taking his own advice. The Sargeant's name: Leonard Nimoy. www.military.com/veteran-jobs/career-advice/military-transition/famous-veteran-leonard-nimoy.html
Great video beautiful cemeteries you don't realize how old the crew was until its shown love the work you put into this video and the mike works great.
Cool video Steve. I love how you give the homage to the writers. Remember without writers there's no books no songs no TV no film no nothing.....! Don't forget Leonard Nimoy was also the voice of In Search Of. I used to love that show and I love how they have the reboot with the new guy who plays Spock in the film's. This was great Steve hope all is well thanks again...... keep them coming!
Captain Kirk will live for eternity. He hijacked a Star Fleet ship & it's rumored he beamed down to Gamma Hydra 4, Where Commander Pike resides. 😉 Excellent as always Steve! So many cast members from the series cremated, with unknown locations. I can still hear Richardo's voice pitching for the Chrysler Volare' !
Only granny. Ebsen was cremated and scattered and Donna Douglas is buried back east. And the BH house is no longer visible from the street because of a gigantic hedge. Otherwise it would have been top of my list. Thanks, Mary!
I was a huge fan of Fantasy Island!! I thought Mr. Montalban was so handsome I was totally captivated! My grama and I would have a date on a Saturday night to eat popcorn drink cream soda as we watched Love Boat then Fantasy Island.
i think Rand's last episode for the star trek universe was for Voyager as Cmd.Rand to Capt. Sulu , when Tuvok was having some infection involving his memories

I miss here (mom). BTW thanks for the postcard. can't wait for the next trip down memory lane.
Funny you mentioned that! I'd have the same tug of war with programs! When Star Trek reruns were on, I'd say to my Mom, "I never saw the whole episode!" She'd let me watch it again, although I saw several times, but just loved watching it over & over again. Sometimes I'd notice something I hadn't before, too? It's run with Next Generation, on a BBC channel I get here in Va. I'll watch when I can catch it. I dont care for much of the programs today.
@@intotheabyssoftheunknown4479 i binged watched the next generation today In fact,m i quit watching the emmys because patrick stewart was never even mominated for best actor
@@karenanderson8943 I think the Emmy & Academy Awards are very biased myself. I lost interest in them a long time ago. I think Patrick Stewart wasn't chosen due to his nationality? Many that are chosen have duel citizenships? Which to me, shouldn't be acceptable, unless they were born in the designated origin? Many Canadian performers win based on dual citizenship, just as many Americans are considered for our neighbor. It's political, just as anything else is today, in my opinion. They can always be nominated, but never chosen.

The first thing I associate with Ricardo Montalban is "rich Corinthian leather" in the seats of a Chrysler car.
Hey Steve!! Yes!! I REMEMBER THIS!! I loved it when i was a kid!! The whole cast was amazing! Great upload as usual Steve!!
Thanks, FC!
Loved Star Trek!! TY again!!
...Leonard Nimoy was awesome on tv as spock and movies...intresting to see where is buried. Even Montalbans grave was something I didnt expect to see..he was bigger than life! All this of cemetary graves makes me accept Jesus in my life. Nothing else matters in this life!
Amen brother!
Nimoy hosted, IN SEARCH OF.... in the 70s.
Yes. He did. He also did the voice for several science shows.
Excellent! Thank you!
Although I was never a fan of Star Trek, I really enjoyed this video. I was a big fan of Ricardo Montalban. I enjoyed his acting I thought whatever role he played he gave off a charming performance. Thanks, Steve.
he really was a one of a kind. thanks, kevin!
James Doohan went to my high school. Many years before I was there but was still cool to know I walked the same halls as him.
yeah, that would be. thanks for sharing that, steve!
Hi Steve! My favorite Star Trek actor! Thank you!
Steve thank you again for a job well done. I enjoy your videos and especially this one of star trek cast members and when they past away it is so good to bring this information to us star trek fans thank you.
Great video Steve ! I’ve been trying to play catch up and this was awesome. Can’t believe I missed Ricardo when I was there last time
Thanks, Scott! There are so many people I want to visit there, too. Every time I go I visit a few more. Hope you are having a fun trip, so far.
To all cast members of STAR TREK living and passed; KEEP ON TREKKIN'
Great video, thanks. Live long and prosper
thanks, john. you too!
Steve, great show. You always enlighten with your honest and honorable way you speak about the departed. Tip: if you want to cut down on wind noise, use an omnidirectional microphone and that fuzzy filter.
Thanks, MM
Love Star Trek
I always was and i always will be a Fan of Star Trek. Thanx for sharing this. Two years ago i was in Los Angeles and i made the Star Trek Hollywood Boulevard Star journey. I visited all the Stars of Star Trek Actors that are on the Street. It was a long walk i can tell ya.
i've done the full walk, too, and it is a long walk. thanks for sharing, frank!
Thank you for another awesome video Steve!
A little bit of trivia:
When Ken Berry was serving in the Army, just before being discharged he asked his Sargent advice about becoming an actor. His sargent apparently gave him good advice because he wound up taking his own advice. The Sargeant's name: Leonard Nimoy.

Love trivia like this. Thanks, JM!
Another great video Steve. Keep up the great work. God Bless.
Thanks, Stephen!
Great video beautiful cemeteries you don't realize how old the crew was until its shown love the work you put into this video and the mike works great.
Thanks, Sandra!
Thanks for mentioning that show, Alexander!
Captain Kirk will live for eternity. He hijacked a Star Fleet ship & it's rumored he beamed down to Gamma Hydra 4, Where Commander Pike resides. 😉
Excellent as always Steve! So many cast members from the series cremated, with unknown locations.
I can still hear Richardo's voice pitching for the Chrysler Volare' !
Thanks, ITAOTU!
"And the rich Corinthian leather"
Another great video Steve . I loved Star Trek .
very nice,as usual.great job,steve.I am a fan of the original series.thanks again.
Thanks, Charlie!
Michael Ansara also made an appearance in I dream of Jeannie as the Blue Djinn in the 1st episode of the 2nd season i believe called Happy Anniversary
surprised at how modest the monuments are for such famous stars.
Thanks for another great vlog, Steve!
Thanks, Mary!
Just a question, Steve; is have you done a blog for the Beverly Hillbillies?
Only granny. Ebsen was cremated and scattered and Donna Douglas is buried back east. And the BH house is no longer visible from the street because of a gigantic hedge. Otherwise it would have been top of my list. Thanks, Mary!
Great video and information. Very enjoyable.
I was a huge fan of Fantasy Island!! I thought Mr. Montalban was so handsome I was totally captivated! My grama and I would have a date on a Saturday night to eat popcorn drink cream soda as we watched Love Boat then Fantasy Island.
Fun memories. Thanks for sharing them with us, Bridget!
i think Rand's last episode for the star trek universe was for Voyager as Cmd.Rand to Capt. Sulu , when Tuvok was having some infection involving his memories
ricardo montalban was one of my favorite actorsas was leonard nimoy. another great video . we need to have emmy awards for you tubers. you'd get my vote. Funny story, my sister and I loved star trek. mom not so much. She liked mash. we would rib each other when we tuned into those shows how we've seen them all, butt keep watching them anyway. LOL. I miss here (mom). BTW thanks for the postcard. can't wait for the next trip down memory lane.
Very kind. Glad the postcard arrived and thanks for sharing the memory of your mom with us, Karen!
@@intotheabyssoftheunknown4479 yeah . but i still watch the oscars every year. the only awards show i watch.
