      -it's all lies made up by the big corp and media
      -it probably wasn't too explicit text
      -the victim was probably close to legal

That's the beauty of Dr. G.'s sarcastic humor and his way of saying, some people are just idiots. The thing about these creeps, is that often the behavior escalates. The person might eventually get caught, but by then many real-life children have been hurt beyond measure. Parents really need to monitor their kids online activity. It's not an invasion of privacy; it's loving your child enough to keep them safe. They will thank you later.

      Even short of the sexual stuff, the infotainment is predatory. These are often grown men who make money off of kids (mostly boys) with dopamine rush videos and sometimes edgelord commentary. I've had to restrict my oldest son from such videos (grown men blowing things up, setting things on fire, just playing video games and nothing special is happening but colorful graphics are flashing on the screen, added sound effects are blaring, and the man is being really dramatic).

    What I want to know is what Dr. Disrespect meant when he said some of the conversations were "inappropriate."
    That is probably the most concerning thing about what he said. Because just messaging someone that is a minor is not necessarily bad. There are topics, such as gaming and advice on starting a streaming career, that could be completely okay to message someone under 18. However, him saying some of what was said was inappropriate leads us to believe that it is far worse than that.

      Children shouldn't be talking to strangers online at all. We don't let kids into bars until they are 21, well the Internet is essentially the most dangerous bar in human history. It's full of criminals, predators, people who are drunk & high, mentally ill..I think it's absolutely insane that we allowed silicon Valley and the media to normalise children being online especially social media. These apps are exploiting children for their time, clicks & data. children are being harmed and groomed. They are being introduced to violent taboo kink porn at 7 years old. By the time these boys are 15 they have hardened porn addictions and erectile dysfunction. Children bully other children with phones at school & on social media. It's leading to an epidemic of depression in the youth.
      I'm personally not okay with random strangers influencing children and mingling with them in private chats & video games. It's a pedophile utopia at this point. We all recognise how bad the Internet is. Children should have a seperate highly regulated intranet where adults are not permitted at all. ID requirements etc
      So many children are being influenced by people who do not have their best interests in mind. Omegle was a catastrophy, it's slogan was 'Speak to strangers' it knew exactly what it was doing. The world is a dangerous place and children should enjoy their childhood before being exploited by corporations. Children shouldn't be playing most of these video games either, they are highly sexual & violent and desensitise children. Minor boys are now the leading perpetrators of abuse of other children and there's a direct connection between boys consuming violent porn & video games and violent sexual crimes rising.
      There's literally no positive to children being online at all. They shouldn't be on here. Wallstreet is making bank due to our ignorance. Children are being harmed.

      Of note, though this is not confirmed, is that he deleted the "minor" wording from his apology post a couple times before reverting it, seemingly having second thoughts as to whether he should be honest or not. Given his previous scandals, it's not looking too good for him.

    • @cristianproust
      @cristianproust 2 дня назад +7

      It is perfectly possible that he had an explicit conversations, and there was no intention behind, because some young people are interesting,
      and a casual conversation with someone that you are never going to meet sometimes can become honest and there is no responsibility from his part on restricting topics
      specially when they were located far from each other because most of interactions on the Internet do not go anywhere.
      And even if at some point, later on he was curious to see the person in an event, it could be because the person amused him and it was pure curiosity.
      When someone has a wife and a lot of attention, you have interaction and flirting that leads nowhere all the time but it is pretty different form a predatorial behavior.
      People always want to imagine the worst, when there are a lot of gray areas

      As a side note, as a single mom or parent how do you *not* assume every guy trying to get with you knowing you have kids is *NOT* a predator. That one always amazes me. Dr. Grande made a great point that not a lot of people are putting as much emphasis on as they should be. Dr. Disrespect claimed to "not know why he was banned" for over two years, then all of a sudden it turns out he knew exactly why and decided not to disclose it until he had no choice but to accept it. Scummy move, and it shows that he's willing to retain information until he has not choice but to disclose it.

    What I don't like about the Dr. Disrespect situation (besides him messaging a minor with him admitting to some of the conversations being inappropriate) is that this was hidden for quite a long time which led to him continuing to enjoy much success. Now that the truth is finally out and the walls are closing in, he runs and hides like a coward yet still trying to talk tough through a message instead of on camera about how he does not give a flip about the haters and that he is not going anywhere. Meanwhile, a lot of his fans are left fighting to defend him because they may still hold out hope that he was just being edgy in the messages with no real intention of doing anything while Dr. Disrespect is off hiding knowing he is a creep.

    The industry as a whole does not look after female gamers, never mind underage ones. So there must have been particularly awful crimes committed for these platforms to take these harsh measures.

      And for a HUGE stremer AKA moneymaker to demonized by his platform, he had to make huge highly illegal crimes that we do not know about. This is a very unique situation. It had to be so bad to turf such a popular streamer.

      I think something deeper happened on the Twitch side of things. Twitch found out Doc was messaging a minor and inappropriate comments were made but they found out because their employees were illegally monitoring his chat logs. The latter is bad but the former is way worse and the end result was a settlement payout to Doc and everything becomes hush hush. Things aren't adding up, but we'll see what comes up next.

    • @gavinjenkins899
      @gavinjenkins899 2 дня назад +1

      Yeah from what I can tell, the reason this is all happening now is that NDAs expired, which would have been predictable down to the day

    • @gavinjenkins899
      @gavinjenkins899 2 дня назад

      @@mrmugatu1look638 What about the story you just told doesn't add up? That sounds like it adds up just fine. A begrudging settlement due to neither side being squeaky clean, which would indeed probably involve NDAs, and then they expired (or possibly someone just breached theirs which then allowed others to speak on it too)

    • @mrmugatu1look638
      @mrmugatu1look638 2 дня назад

      @gavinjenkins899 Maybe it adds up perfectly. I don't know. Maybe it's as simple as you say. I'm just wondering what dirt Doc had on Twitch for them to payout his contract and sweep under the rug that he was having an inappropriate conversation with a minor.

    There's one tricky aspect in this disaster: His persona "DrDisrespect" was already featured in the multiplayer online game "Rogue Company", where the game features his persona in form of an expensive cosmetic downloadble piece of ingame content and he even designed a full map in the game based on his character's virtual HQ - the campion's arena. If those items weren't bought by players and tied to a digital contract, the company Hi-Rez Games could just pull all this content now and remove it from the game, but since people have payed money for this content this won't be as easy i reckon. I'm really curious how this plays out now and what this will mean for a future where you don't buy your games in a physical format anymore but only have digital licenses to download and play a game on different online platforms.

    • @gavinjenkins899

      Why would you want to try and refund people for something they already paid for? That seems like a complete non issue, that's not public advertising on your company's site, that's private usage of an asset if they decide to individually as players continue using it. Silly to worry about.

    This guy reminds me of a few peers who lived in my college dorm. While I studied, attended class, did my laundry, and slept at night, these guys lived in the commons playing video games all hours of the day and night, skipped class, let dirty laundry and dishes pile up, and eventually ended up on academic probation or dropping out. More than one ended up being a streamer after college. What made them annoying was how self aggrandizing and arrogant they were. A lot of them were popular, charismatic, ambitious LOSERS who as grown men acted like obnoxious teenagers.
