- Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. This set is uploaded in the loving memory MC Skibadee who sadly passed away. We continue to champion and celebrate his legacy. Rest In Paradise MC Skibadee. This was the original SASAS, which came about way before SASASAS. It consisted of MCs Skibadee, Shabba D and Shockin B. Shabba and Shockin were known for doing shows on Weekend Rush 92.3 FM which was based in Hackney's Nightingale Estate. Check the channel out for their shows in early 90s.
Interestingly, we have a rare recording on this channel of Skibadee in 1995, on Kool FM. It shows the journey of the MC and how far he's come and the amount of change he has undergone over the years. Check our Kool FM playlist: • Kool FM 94.5 - Drum & ...

Jungle Legend
Lovely works bros, getting this up!
We are working around the clock to get as many of his sets uploaded as we have scores of them but used to hold some back so preferring to upload a variety music a stations, but with this shocking news it's driven us to get more out there as the golden years of his career is what shaped him as pioneer and influenced DNB and MC culture in a massive way. Still feeling the pain of his passing. Big up Baber 1, you're one of our early subscribers and supporters. Respect bruva!!
@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio
You know what bro, its hard, I only listen to about 10mins of Skiba before turning off, it's painful thinking that we'll never hear him chat again, he was one of jungles foundations man, and I say that with the utmost respect and I hope this not sound like I'm trivialising his passing, which is a whole other level of grief that only his family and friends will be going through... but speaking just as a junglist.... I grew up in jungle listening to him, I have this exact Ash set recorded on TDK with my pencil markings of dj, mc, date... Skiba was a part of the whole jungle community which with his passing has left a hole in us that will never be replaced, it's painful man
@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio
This is a mandatory channel for all junglists!!!!!! Jungle library right here!!!
@@Baber1 I totally stand with you on what you're saying. Your comment is respectful and considerate. The grieving process takes time. In time we will draw a lot strength from how committed, dedicated and productive Skiba was and that in itself is inspiration to us all. This tape was too precious to leave there without uploading.
Rip skibadee another sick set

Indeed a big set!! Respect Sean!! Keep it locked bruva!!
Ahrijinal SASAS!!!!!!
Great up load , thanks.
IMO some of the description is incorrect.
Originally it was SAS , skibba & Shabba
Then it become SASAS , with the addition of Stormin and then became SASASAS with the addition of Shotter.
It was only SAS back in the day , shearer & Sutton or skibba & Shabba.
RIP Skibba & Stormin
Shabba & Shockin' started on Weekend Rush together and would frequently MC for Funky Flirt and Rusher calling them SAS. Check our Shabba D playlist. Bless up!!
@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio will do just that , nice one brother !
@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio just got yourself a new subscriber , your play lists look sick. Shabba D is my fav radio set MC , SASAS (😉) & DJ trend on kool is my fav set ever ! RIP Trend.
That Shabba D set on garage with Nicky slim and Plauge , that plauge really sounds like neutrino , is it him before a name change ?
@@Noname-dc9mm Plague was around from 1994/1995 and was runnin' tingz on the Jungle front. If you check out our early Rinse FM jungle playlist you'll find sets of him on there. Plague was around before Neutrino. I know a lot people in East London were saying Neutrino sounded a bit like Preshus. That being said I've gotta credit them all and what they did for the scene and evolution of the sound. Big up for your support and I am always happy to talk to you about stuff relating to those scenes and you'll find a lot of our subscribers and listeners also love to leave comments and get involved. There's a great community on this platform with many people contributing to discussions, our descriptions and debates. Enjoy searching through our videos and playlists. Big up yourself to the max, spears the word and keep it locked!!

23:20
1:00:15 track ID???
Not sure but think it’s Congo Natty and Buju Banton - Boom bye bye mixed in with the intro to deep blue - the helicopter tune
I preferred Gq slower and Skibba
GQ is flawless. Great voice, style, energy and loved by the ravers. New MCs should take a leaf out of his book. I always say you can learn more from the past in order to shape the future. The GQ and all the legends of that era certainly command more respect than what's given.
@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio I can't understand what he says now when I go to a rave... loved his AWOL days
@@markyruss How old is GQ now? Must be in his mid early 50s? Navigator is nearly 60 years old.
