This video made this job look far simpler than I found it. I used this procedure on a 6 year old seat exeo which has the same suspension and despite using plenty of WD40, an impact wrench and eventually a plumbers blowtorch the head came off the pichbolt (when half out but still stuck). I would advise anyone considering this job to pre lube the pinch bolts long before attempting this procedure, look up the various techniques to aid in pinch bolt removal (such as washers between the slits to stop pinching and potentially using an air hammer on the other end). There are plenty of horror stories for good reason with pinch bolts on this car. I wish I knew this first as I would likely have got the pinch bolt out first time rather than having to get it drilled out.

That pinch bolt on the upper A-arm came out easily. I thought that usually it's seized on these B-6's and Passats and you need a $300 Klann tool to get that bolt out.

they make it look simple but in reality its not. I've had problems with that bolt in the past

This video is considered to be an informative one. We are trying to show the sequence of repair work, rather than the twisting processes of rusty bolt connections. Best regards, Autodoc.

During the disassembly of many units, use a penetrating lubricant, for instance WD40. This will help you to save some time for demounting. Best regards, Autodoc.

This video was informative, I used it to remove and replace the suspension assembly. My pinchbolts were immovable, but I was able to drop the strut and access the top by manipulating the whole assembly out, leaving the top control arms in place. Not ideal I suppose, but I didn't have to worry about the pinchbolts.
