absolutely an under rated action thriller, I always enjoy re watching this one. Its been unfairly rated imo as it really is fast paced and maybe a few scenes unlikely in a big Airport, but its still fun to watch
A bit inaccurate , plane altitude is measured by instruments in the plane , not by air controller tower , ground proximity warning system (GPWS) would have warned "Terrain , Pull up , Terrain , Pull up ..." , FAA has required all large turbine and turbojet airplanes to install GPWS since 1974 . Height above ground is determined by a radar altimeter. Then we have flight charts , with those you are able to determine position , safe altitude , best route to a destination , alternative landing areas in case of an in-flight emergency , you use these when you do instrument landing , where you cant see whats outside , then you trust whats on charts and on plane instruments .
My Dad told me he saw this in theater when it came out, he said there was about 30 people including him, he told me there was an eerie silence in the theater after the plane crash.
@@jldog134 Back when I saw this in the theatre, many in the crowd stood up whooped, cheered and applauded after McClane ignited the fuel trail to the bad guys plane and blew it up in the climax.
Fun fact: General Ramon is played by famed Italian actor Franco Nero, who is best known for his role in the spaghetti western film "Django". When Tarantino cast "Django Unchained", he coaxed Mr. Nero to cameo in a scene with Jamie Foxx, where Nero asks Foxx how he spells his name. Foxx replies "D-J-A-N-G-O. The D is silent", to which Nero replies, "I know"
I think the common reception comes from two factors. The fact that its sandwiched between 1 and 3 which are both perfect, and the sort of repetitive nature of the second. (3 if you count the not so great acting from the secondary characters and some absolutely unrealistic elements, which is saying something for Die Hard)
DH2: solid action movie and I liked that they brought back "Al" and his wife. Next: DH with a Vengeance. You guys should give "The Long Kiss Goodnight" a chance (Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson)...lots of action and good storyline.
Die Hard 2 and The Long Kiss Goodnight are both directed by Renny Harlin. That dude knew how to make action and add a little something. He also made Cliffhanger.
I can’t believe it’s been over a year watching movies with you guys, when you said it I had to go back and check, time really flys when you’re having fun, love watching movies with you guys, keep’em coming 😁
18:00 you might recognise this actor. That is Irish actor Colm Meany, who you probably best know from playing Chief Miles O'Brien in Star Trek The Next Generation and Deep Space 9
William Sadler is such a great actor. His character Colonel Stuart is the epitome of evil but just in the change of timbre to his voice tells you he knows the gravity of what he's just done when he causes the plane to crash.
The man in charge in the tower, is played by Fred Thompson - a part time actor and a United States Senator. he actually ran for President in 2008. I always thought he did a good job in the movies he was in.
9:58 Fred Thompson ! He had quite the career before he took up acting. He was in law, politics, journalism, radio, the Senate and was even a Presidential candidate ! He was a minor counsel during the Watergate hearings, you can see him in the footage and he's often credited with coming up with the question to Nixon: "What did the President know, and when did he know it ?" although he didn't ask it himself. What a life.
Diehard 3 is actually titled Diehard with a Vengeance and don't bother waiting until next Christmas because the third movie doesn't take place during Christmas, only the first 2 did :P
Renny Harlin was an underrated director of action in the 90s. He also did Stallone's Cliffhanger (which you guys should watch) and The Long Kiss Goodnight with Samuel Jackson (you should also check out).
And to think Harlin released both this and Adventures Of Ford Fairlane in the same year, the reason he was brought on instead of bringing McTiernan back, was because McTiernan was shooting The Hunt For Red October at the time of filming
Side note: back at that time, Glock handguns were reasonably exotic and there was still much mythos about a "plastic" handgun that wouldn't show up on metal detectors. The scene is all in on the myth. Inaccurate in so many ways. But accuracy never stops a good Hollywood script.
After you did "Die Hard with a Vengeance", forget the remaining Die Hard movies and instead do "The Last Boy Scout" - the best Die Hard movie that isn't actually a Die Hard movie. 🙂
I wouldn't say Bruce Willis was a "comedian" per se, but his breakout role was in the TV show Moonlighting, which was a comedy-drama. (He won an Emmy as Leading Male in a Drama for it, but also won a Golden Globe as Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy; it skirted that line.) Moonlighting was a great show that really only ended because Die Hard made him "too big for TV." At the time, "movie stars" did not do TV, it was considered beneath them, and so Die Hard pole vaulted him into that upper echelon.
I remember this movie's tagline - Die Hard 2: Die Harder. Seeing this as a kid, I was like "Why would you want to die harder? Wouldn't that hurt more?"
Imagine the porn parody, though. "F**k Hard". "F**k Hard 2: F**k harder". "F**k Hard with a Vengeance". "Live Soft or F**k Hard". "A Good Day To F**k Hard".
I think Die Hard 2 aged well. The thematic revisits to Die Hard 1 felt different when this movie released. It felt like a recycled Die Hard 1, with the sense of novelty lost. I think Die Hard 2 feels much better now when the movies can be viewed on more equal ground, and with the perspective that there are even more movies in the franchise.
This is the exact reason people should never ask others if a movie is worth watching. You are proving to all the people who say to skip Die Hard 2 that they don't realize this is still a good movie. We should make our own judgement about movies because everyone is different. Great reaction to a very underrated movie.
Nice job recognizing Robert Patrick, you'd be surprised how many people watch this movie and never realize that's him and your correct Valverde was used to represent the generic Latin American country in the 80's.
Yeah, I figured they probably recognized him from one of the Stephen King book adaptation movie reactions. I know he's in Shawshank, Green Mile and the Mist. The character he plays is so much different in this movie though.
Thanks for the fun reaction! Die Hard 3 takes place during the summer, so the Mclain's have a safe Christmas (and you only have to wait a few months for the next reaction) 👍
24:13 fyi there are/was ejection seats that fired ‘downward’ as crazy as that sounds. They usually had minimum altitude parameters that they were supposed to be used at. There are even instances where the pilot would try to roll inverted to try and eject.
Rolling inverted to bail out was standard procedure with the Me-109. Though it predates jets and ejection seats, the point was to help keep the pilot from getting whacked by the plane's tail.
One of the best action sequels of all time. John is up against another team of terrorists but he's not quite alone this time. The location and twists are superb. Throw in some snowy weather and you have another action Christmas movie.
Allow me to advise you...Die Hard 3 (Die Hard With A Vengeance) is fine. Die Hard 4 (Live Free Or Die Hard) is also fine. But you do NOT want to waste your time on Die Hard 5 (A Good Day To Die Hard). Trust me on this, and I assure you that many movie fans would agree with me on this point.
The third one Die Hard with a Vengeance is really good too, and definitely worth checking out. The fourth and fifth ones are okay but you can safely skip them.
The guy at the beginning that Samantha said "He looks familiar" is William Sadler. You remember him as the dad of the two little girls in "The Green Mile" and "The Mist". He has several action movies to his credit that are worth a watch like "Tales from the Crypt presents Demon Night", "Trespass" and played Death in the "Bill and Ted" movies.
TBR Schmitt , If you liked this you are gonna love Die Hard 3. Die hard 3 is the best of the series. Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis make a great team.
Don't wait until next Christmas for Die Hard 3. It takes place in early summer just prior to the end of the School Year. BTW - DH3 is my favorite of the series.
Sam, you said the idea of Central Park scares you. Well, they use Central park to the max in DIE HArd 3 - die With a Vengence. It becomes a small but memorable character in the next die Hard.
Three other movies to check out from Renny Harlin who directed this movie are Cliffhanger with Stallone, The Long Kiss Goodnight with Geena Davis and Samuel L Jackson and Deep Blue Sea which is crazy shark movie also with Sam Jackson.
@40:30, the supporting characters in Die Hard movies can be some really resourceful and heroic people. Sometimes just as much if more than McClane. In the next Die Hard film there is one character who has this quiet moment of heroism that I always makes me smile. Nothing showy or over the top, just an ordinary otherwise goofy dude standing up during a time of crisis.
Around this time the fax machine was new technology, so the scene where the audience sees John takes a piece of paper in DC, and sends it through the machine and Al in LA picks it up the copy, was a big deal to the average person who had never seen one work before. In my theatre, I remember everyone saying wow and whoa when that happened.
The Guy who played Colonel Stewart was also in Shawshank Redemption years later,, but also make lits of TV show cameos one of my favorites is Flash Season 1
I like Die Hard 2 better than all the movies that followed in the franchise because it stayed true to the original concept of one guy in a closed location against an armada of terrorists.
@Paul WT In my mind, the first two movies are 'Die Hard' movies, the rest are 'John McClane' movies. It depends what you want to watch the movies for. For me, the first movie is the ideal mix of the two flavors.
Fun fact: The actor who play Trudeau, Fred Thompson, was also a lawyer and politician. He was counsel to the Senate Watergate Committee, US Senator from Tennessee, and even sought the Republican nomination for President in ‘08.
42:05 "Plus the one guy." Re-watching the movie, you'll hear someone in Stuart's team say that 'there was a last-minute replacement', referring to the innocent guy on Grant's team.
I forgot how good Die Hard 2 is, and your reaction was fun. The 3rd Die hard is not set at Christmas so you won't have to wait until next December to react to it.
Die Hard: With a Vengeance is what happens when Love itself -falls in Love. Its so delightful, bursting with screen chemistry, absolutely sublime. IMHO, it's where the Die Hard series concludes. Ignore the rumors of a 4 & 5.
@@safeashouses211 Det. John McClane got hurt in the orig trilogy, he bled a LOT. Made him more human. In the new ones he's invincible, goodbye suspension of disbelief.... 4 especially had the whole "Hack a fighter jet" logic. I was surprised they didn't hack the entire planet earth...
I wouldn't call Willis a comedian. He was an actor known for a comic role in Moonlighting. But I first saw him in a dramatic role on Miami Vice. This is my favorite of the Die Hard sequels. I love how it plays with the coincidence of this happening again on Christmas ("John, why does this keep happening to us") and John's celebrity after the events of of the first film. While it lacks a flamboyant villain like the first film, I found Sadler particularly menacing.
Moonlighting and Blind Date pretty much made him seem like a Rom-Com actor. He's not a big guy, so most people wouldn't have considered him as an action hero in those days... which I think worked in his favor. His regular guy/NYPD character made him more relatable than Arnold or Sly.
33:24: John: "Blame it on the screenwriters". I loved the Behind The Scenes documentary of this film too. So much happening with the stunts and practical effects.
Glad you two enjoyed this badass action film, as much I truly enjoyed DIE HARD 2 since last year for the holiday season. I hope you two would enjoyed the awesome Die Hard 3 film so soon. John McClane is one awesome action hero!
The actor that you said you recognized that did the weird dance in the beginning he was in Shawshank Redemption. He played the stuttering inmate that told Andy we are all innocent and lawyer screwed him over. The actor that won the cigarettes the first night Andy came to prison because that man started crying and was beaten to death by the prison guard.
Love your reviews. One of the best sequels ever. And think how expensive it must’ve been to make all those extras the airport blowing up the airplanes. Practical effects pretty cool glad you guys liked it.
@38:00, in firearms safety course blue is used to denote safety. For example, instead of handing a student a real gun on day one they get handed a blue safety gun. It’s shaped and sized like a real gun but has no moving parts, is made of rubber and colored blue.
Ok guys, now you can watch the 3rd movie, "Die Hard With a Vengeance". And you don't have to wait a year either, since it's definitely not a Christmas movie. But it's a good one, for sure, with Jeremy Irons as the villain.
laughed that you guys noticed the old lady brought the taser on the plane. same thing happened to my cousin a few years back. She forgot she had a taser in her carryon & got through TSA. they didn't even notice. Yet, her dad (an artist who works for Disney) had to throw away his little paint set at the same airport! TSA is sketchy today! I can only imagine how shoddy security was back in the day!
Fun Fact: Everything McClane said about the Glock was wrong, it’s really made in Austria, it’s a Glock 17 no such thing as a Glock 7, thats false that it song set off metal detectors because there still is metal in the pistol, and it cost less than McClane’s Beretta
Yep. This is around the time they passed a law requiring a certain amount of metal in handguns to be legal, to counter the Glock...and Glock had plenty. Bad gun laws aren't based on logic, they're based on fear.
@@Rocket1377 -- It's a fictional story set in a realistic setting. That's what makes it different from Fantasy and Science Fiction and Alternate History. That's why they're flying modern realistic airplanes instead of teleporting to where they want to go. That's why the Army guys weren't firing Star Trek phasers. For the most part, Hollywood weenies know nothing about firearms and care nothing about plot holes because they know the clueless public won't hold them to any standards. If you don't believe me, ask Stephen Spielberg.
I'm late but here's a movie detail. 7:13 , the flight attendant who offered the champagne, also played the prison guard that hit Arnold in T2 and broke his sunglasses.
A lot of love for Die Hard 3, but still find Die Hard is the gold standard in the series, followed by Die Hard 2, then the third. Still watchable, but the younger Bruce was more believable and entertaining as John McClane for me. The second one had more relatability and similarities to the first film, which is an all-time classic, which is why I liked it far better than the 3rd or 4th. When Bruce started getting up there in age in the late 90s, it took something away for me when (along with the more ridiculous plot lines) the film series continued on. What made the first one the greatest (apart from having the best villain of the series), was that in the first one John McClane was terrified while doing this stuff. He didn't tie a fire hose around his waist and jump out the window because he was some unstoppable, fearless action hero, but because he had no choice, that if he didn't do it, innocent people were going to die. The second film had a lot of those elements, but they further they got from that, the worse the films got. Another must watch series, which I know you'll love, is the Lethal Weapon series, with the first one also taking place around Christmas.
Fred Dalton Thompson, who played the airport manager, was a senator from Tennessee. He played Nick Nolte's partner in Cape Fear 1991, and D.A. Arthur Branch on Law and Order.
People sleep on Die Hard 2 because it's not as good as the first and the third one but it's a pretty good 90's action film ! Great location, nice action sequence, still amazing soundtrack, spectacular ending and peak Bruce Willis ! The only real weakness it has over the other 2 is the vilain who is pretty weak really...just a commando guy with a plan really, a classic 80's vilain. He is not as memorable as Hans Gruber and the one in 3 ( i won't reveal since they haven't seen it yet !). He does the job and got lot of goons so it works... Still a very fun movie !!
There is one gaping plot hole in this movie that takes me out of it for the most part. The whole plot relies on the planes flying around Dulles Airport for hours on end because they don't have enough fuel to make it to any other airports. The problem is Reagan National Airport is a 30 minute Drive from Dulles. Not to mention that there are at least 3 other airports within 45 minutes driving from Dulles in the DMV that would have taken all of those flights in an emergency, especially in that type of weather. If those planes could stay up there for as long as they did, they would have been able to get to another airport once Dulles went dark on them. Other than that, this movie is great. It builds up tension so well and shows you how evil Colonel Stuart really is when he kills a whole planes worth of people with no emotions.
That plot hole may not be as big as you’ve made it out to be here. I don’t know off-hand about other airports close by with runways long enough to land big commercial airliners. But the movie does make reference to what is now Reagan National Airport. In a scene that takes place in the tower before the terrorist takeover, Trudeau (Fred Thompson) exclaims, “Great! National just shut down. Totally iced. They’re going to be sending us their planes!” Bear in mind, Ronald Reagan’s name wasn’t added to the name of the airport until 1998, eight years after “Die Hard 2” was released. Back then, it was just Washington National Airport and often simply referred to as "National."
Don't forget that the bad guy's plot essentially revolves around not just it snowing but a full on blizzard in the DC area on Christmas Eve. DC gets snow an average of 9 days a year and rarely gets blizzards.
as much as i love Die Hard 2, it’s proof that bad guys can be way too bad to where they just aren’t fun to watch. the baddies in 1 & 3 are just thieves and don’t rack up a huge body count. the ones in 2 are just monsters.
McTiernan purposely made Gruber a thief instead of a terrorist because he didn't want a villain people would feel bad for liking. Especially when he just wanted to make a fun action film. It's also why Ode to Joy was added into the score. McTiernan heard the piece, thought it sounded upbeat and thought that would musically let people know you're allowed to have fun with this.
@@DonnaCPunk yep i remember hearing that on the commentary years ago so i tracked down a copy of the book it was based on and it really is a big downer in those regards

I'd avoid 4 and 5, they go downhill after 3, especially the 5th one (A Good Day to Die Harder). Keep em coming and Merry Christmas!

The fourth one is good too, I like the rated r version , it written by the same writers that did die hard 1 and 2 (uncredited) I can tell by the funny one liners
@@zmarko The best way I'd describe 5 is as a generic Bruce Willis action film rather than being a Die Hard film. And not that good a generic action film either lol.
It's a far lack in-between saying that Willis was a comedian before Diehard. He had Moonlighting which was a drama comedy mystery type of a show but he was basically known has a blues musician. Great content keep up the superb work guys!!!!
And that whole "gun won't show on the x-ray machine" thing is completely false. Glocks are not "fancy" at all, they are probably the most common handgun to be used right now, and they have plenty of metal parts in them to set off metal detectors and be easily seen in x-ray machines...
They weren't _that_ common in the U.S. at the time. But absolutely, they have plenty of metal. They just have polymer receivers. At the times though, Hollywood was playing up the "Undetectable gun" to support the passage of more gun control.
Ah, but the gun is a "Glock 7", which is completely fictional and doesn't exist in the real world. It DOES exist in the Die Hard universe, so it can be whatever the filmmakers want it to be.
@@Rocket1377 And what kind of ammo would it have shot? Ammo consists of metal. You got metal casings and metal bullets. Even if the "Glock 7" would be made of only ceramics and plastic like they mentioned in the movie, the ammo was not. And it definetly shows up in those machines. Without ammo, they would have no ammo and just an inconvenient small gun looking club to hit someone. Still the gun isn't what i have the most issues in this movie. The best thing to me is the use of the marker signal to send voice. (That isn't that far from possible like all the other things they did to the airport systems.)
Bruce Willis was my favorite actor as an kid. From the tv series "Moonlighting" to releasing an album called "The Return of Bruno". Becoming both the highest paid actor of the day and an major movie star with DH1. The teaser trailer for Die Harder had me so pumped to see what McClane would do next. Bruce says a line from the movie, "How can the same thing happen to the same guy, twice?". July 4th weekend, my mother and me saw it and went so crazy over it. The director, Renny Harlin had another movie out the same year called The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. The action, suspense, humor and stakes were a little looser. But still so entertaining. dir. Harlin also made some other classics:Cliffhanger (1993), Cutthroat Island (1995), The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996), Deep Blue Sea (1999), Mindhunters (2004) and The Covenant (2006). Bill Sadler, this and Demon Knight were his best roles
The D is silent", to which Nero replies, "I know"
FINALLY someone who loves this movie. I don't think it's beautiful, but not so bad as many people says. I like it.
I think the common reception comes from two factors.
The fact that its sandwiched between 1 and 3 which are both perfect, and the sort of repetitive nature of the second. (3 if you count the not so great acting from the secondary characters and some absolutely unrealistic elements, which is saying something for Die Hard)
@CYB3R2K30 No, 4 was the dud.
DH2: solid action movie and I liked that they brought back "Al" and his wife. Next: DH with a Vengeance. You guys should give "The Long Kiss Goodnight" a chance (Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson)...lots of action and good storyline.
Yes to Long Kiss Goodnight. After all, it's another Christmas movie.
One of the best action/Christmas movies of the 90s for sure 😎🎄
I love the long kiss goodnight so so much
Die Hard 2 and The Long Kiss Goodnight are both directed by Renny Harlin. That dude knew how to make action and add a little something. He also made Cliffhanger.
I’m ready for Die Hard with a Vengeance… let’s do this and not wait an entire year, give us this Xmas gift !
“They Melvined me.”
"You might be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with the reaper."
"Get down with your bad selves!"
Can't forget Demon Knight where he played Brayker
"Just The Facts (fax) Ma'am" Was a famous catchphrase used by Detective Joe Friday (Dragnet) in the 50s.
The man in charge in the tower, is played by Fred Thompson - a part time actor and a United States Senator. he actually ran for President in 2008. I always thought he did a good job in the movies he was in.
He also appeared in The Hunt for Red October (1990).
“Not the kind of ride I’m looking for…” my favorite line. This one is also a Christmas movie.
My favorite is:: ".... Bimbos on a plane?..."
If you liked this movie then you're going to love "Die Hard with a Vengeance". In my opinion it's the best one.
You’re wrong! But DHWAV is an terrific film.

Bruce Willis gained his popularity on a popular television comedy called "Moonlighting", this is why people didn't expect him to be an action star.

Totaly agree! The Last Boy Scout definitely feels like a Die Hard movie
So few reactions to The Last Boy Scout. Hope they will do it at some time.
@@tolkienismaster who react to it?
I wouldn't say Bruce Willis was a "comedian" per se, but his breakout role was in the TV show Moonlighting, which was a comedy-drama. (He won an Emmy as Leading Male in a Drama for it, but also won a Golden Globe as Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy; it skirted that line.) Moonlighting was a great show that really only ended because Die Hard made him "too big for TV." At the time, "movie stars" did not do TV, it was considered beneath them, and so Die Hard pole vaulted him into that upper echelon.
I refer you to Blind Date with Kim Basinger, Willis was absolutely a comedian.

I think Die Hard 2 is very underrated. I think it's a great sequel!
Great reaction! This film is one of the greatest sequels in the history of Hollywood. But for some reason, people rarely talk about Die Hard 2.
William Sadler that played Colonel William Stuart also played Death in the Bill & Ted sequels
Don't really have to wait for summer to see a film set during summer. Also, Die Hard & Die Hard 2 were released in the summer.
Another Christmas-time movie I can recommend and which I watch along Die Hard every year is L.A. Confidential.
LA Confidential definitely needs to be reviewed. Russell Crowe, Guy Pierce, Kevin Spacey, Kim Basinger, etc
Great movie. I’m due a rewatch as well.
I was in this movie! I remember getting paid $50 per day for two days to be an extra in the airport crowd, when I was about 12 or 13
James Cameron chose Robert Patrick for the role of T-1000 when he saw him in Die Hard 2.
*Val Verde!* YOU ARE CORRECT!!!
This the area Schawrzenegger's character has to go to and try to rescue his daughter in the movie Commando!
And in the movie Predator
Immediately! Not a year from now.
HAHAHA I can't even bring myself to watch 5 with the casting of Jai Courtney lol
I agree for the most part, but the 5th movie is garbage and I'd never watch it again.
The first is clearly the best. 2-4 are good for what they are. Avoid the 5th.
yup, That one in NYC was epic, fantastic plot with the Gold reserve and great dialogue especially with Sam Jackson
From what I heard, the makers of T2 saw Robert Patrick in Die Hard 2. It helped win him the role of the villan.
Yes James Cameron watched Die Hard 2 and thought Robert Patrick would make an ideal T-1000 to contrast Arnold Schwarzeneggers large build.
Missed opportunity for a "chill out" comment by John after the icicle stab
Around this time the fax machine was new technology, so the scene where the audience sees John takes a piece of paper in DC, and sends it through the machine and Al in LA picks it up the copy, was a big deal to the average person who had never seen one work before. In my theatre, I remember everyone saying wow and whoa when that happened.
looking forward for the third. for me, the best sequel of the first die hard
The Guy who played Colonel Stewart was also in Shawshank Redemption years later,, but also make lits of TV show cameos one of my favorites is Flash Season 1
That's right. The Arrowverse Simon Stagg. Also starring with Colm Meany in DS9
I like Die Hard 2 better than all the movies that followed in the franchise because it stayed true to the original concept of one guy in a closed location against an armada of terrorists.
Concept on paper isn't equal to execution.
The first one didn't have terrorists, though.
@Paul WT In my mind, the first two movies are 'Die Hard' movies, the rest are 'John McClane' movies. It depends what you want to watch the movies for. For me, the first movie is the ideal mix of the two flavors.

Now watch the 3rd one, which is the best of the bunch. Die Hard 4 is also pretty solid. Avoid 5 at all costs.
I can't wait for you guys to watch all four of the *LEATHAL WEAPON* movies

@38:00, in firearms safety course blue is used to denote safety. For example, instead of handing a student a real gun on day one they get handed a blue safety gun.
It’s shaped and sized like a real gun but has no moving parts, is made of rubber and colored blue.
Ok guys, now you can watch the 3rd movie, "Die Hard With a Vengeance". And you don't have to wait a year either, since it's definitely not a Christmas movie. But it's a good one, for sure, with Jeremy Irons as the villain.
"The accent". Youre right Samantha. And he isnt english either. He is irish actor Colm Meaney aka O'Brien from the Star Trek franchise.
The original trilogy is awesome. I shuffle through these depending on my mood, and sometimes Die Hard 2 comes out on top

She forgot she had a taser in her carryon & got through TSA. they didn't even notice. Yet, her dad (an artist who works for Disney) had to throw away his little paint set at the same airport! TSA is sketchy today! I can only imagine how shoddy security was back in the day!
Fun Fact:
Everything McClane said about the Glock was wrong, it’s really made in Austria, it’s a Glock 17 no such thing as a Glock 7, thats false that it song set off metal detectors because there still is metal in the pistol, and it cost less than McClane’s Beretta
Yep. This is around the time they passed a law requiring a certain amount of metal in handguns to be legal, to counter the Glock...and Glock had plenty. Bad gun laws aren't based on logic, they're based on fear.
Yep, of all the things you shouldn't learn about from Hollywood, firearms are right up there near the top of the list.
It's clearly supposed to be a fictional weapon, and Die Hard is a fictional movie. So in-universe, an anti-metal detector Glock 7 does exist.
I think anyone that has knowledge of firearms experiences a cringe moment for that scene in the movie. So much wrong information.
Happy holidays everyone
@@ericmkendall1 Yup they mentioned the other airports were down because of the weather too
Don't forget that the bad guy's plot essentially revolves around not just it snowing but a full on blizzard in the DC area on Christmas Eve. DC gets snow an average of 9 days a year and rarely gets blizzards.
26:31 Nice pun.
as much as i love Die Hard 2, it’s proof that bad guys can be way too bad to where they just aren’t fun to watch. the baddies in 1 & 3 are just thieves and don’t rack up a huge body count. the ones in 2 are just monsters.

2:32 - "...and the 'Commando' universe" ... He says, just as the scene where the guy "goes commando" pops up. Impeccable timing, good Sir.
